I've been here a few times for various reason. I can appreciate the repurposing of an old building such as this. If you are having a small function, there's a room off the bar which used to be a sunroom. There's a menu for these type of events which makes the planning/ordering pretty simple. Being a mostly glass room, the acoustics make it a bit hard to hear when the room is full. As for the rest of the place, it's really quite charming. It has a Fenway type feel and it's well kept up. It's open and spacious. The food is good, your basic pub type food. What is special about Boxseats is the bread and soup bar. Everything is always delicious. Note: if you are coming from the south, take the left before the building. Taking the left after is a small headache. read more

Excellent place to come and watch some Sunday afternoon football. Sat at the bar and watched a bunch of NFL games. They have a special on chicken wings. $.50 each. We had the bourbon chicken wings, they were fantastic. Not greasy, good flavor. read more

We used to eat here often years ago. We were driving by and saw the parking lot pretty full so we thought let's give it another go. They gave the place a nice fresh facelift inside, but unfortunately the food was not good. The waiter was very sweet, but was inexperienced. We give him an A for effort, but I have to guess it was just a lack of training. Box Seats used to be known for their awesome buffalo boneless wings and steak tips combo with us. This place is a joke. Their peppercorn dressing taste like mayo. I ordered loaded nachos which comes with chili, I added pulled pork. I get the nachos there is no chili or pulled pork. I ask the waitress where the chili is and she stated "if you add meat they don't put chili". So they will upcharge for the meat and don't put chili. No where does it state that on the menu. The waitress even agreed it should be stated. Best part was this restaurant had the audacity for charge $6.25 for pulled pork and gave me on tiny piece that looks like they found it under the stove. Haven't been in since new owners took over. Still looks the same, brick mill building inside and out. Nothing changed, still the same food choices on the menu oh yeah... minus the free soup & bread station. I've driven by this place many many times. I was just not in the position to actually stop in. A couple buddies of mine were meeting there the other day so I thought I'd join them. The place was absolutely excellent. Clean, with professional staff that is attentive and on point. I only ordered the Buffalo wings but I'm glad I did. They were perfectly cooked with that crispy bite every wing eater longs for. I tried the traditional Buffalo sauce. It was absolutely amazing! Tangy and spicy with out the severe hot that my stomach can no longer handle. I can't wait to go back and try the other menu items. Check out their website. They have trivia nights among others. Went with 3 friends for a late lunch at 2pm. Service and seating was great. We ate outside table had tablecloth on them. When we were seated they gave paper menus. Good idea. The server came back and took beverage orders as soon as we all were seated. When they came back to bring beverages they took our lunch order one of the people in our party has a gluten problem. It was very accommodating they had over 70 items on their menu that were gluten free. He ended up ordering a nacho plate from the appetizer menu with pulled pork, one other friend ordered the impossible Burger she got hers with steak fries which also were gluten free another person in my party ordered cheeseburger with regular french fries and pepper jack cheese. I ordered a half-dozen clam cakes and a side salad. I got blue cheese salad dressing on my salad. I also got an order of onion rings from The appetizer menu cuz they were gluten free . As he was taking our orders he was putting them into a tablet he had in his hand which then sent them directly to the kitchen. I thought that was very cool. When the appetizer onion rings came out they look very nice but unfortunately they were not hot. In retrospect they really weren't warm. My friends started to eat them in anyways before I could say anything to the server. In a few minutes a brought out the meal everything looks wonderful. Very refreshing fresh looking. He came back again two or three times with water excetera. After trying my clam cakes I found after the first two cakes that there were no clams in them and if they were overly moist in the center like they weren't fully cooked yet a very crispy on the outside. My salad was not cold or chilled it was a bit on the cool 2 warm side. I spoke with the server who took away the clam cakes the manager came over and apologized. He took it off the menu but I was kind of disappointed because I was really looking forward to them. My girlfriend's steak fries with her impossible burger or excellent they came out scalding hot like fresh from the fryolator not too crispy very soft in the center and not greasy at all. My boyfriend's Burger was excellent he said but his fries were not hot. My friend who are the nacho plate with pulled pork said it was very good. I know that everyone is going through a lot of this time with the virus and stuff. So I'm willing to overlook things looking forward to going back and trying something else as I know I've gone there many times in the past before this and everything has been excellent. Starting off with this: my husband has celiac disease. Eating out is very limited for us. A celiac friend of mine recommended this place so we thought we'd check it out. So glad we did. The GF options on the menu are extensive. Questions we asked our server were answered carefully. He was also friendly and prompt. Husband and I shared an appetizer. He ordered a pasta/chicken dish and I had the salmon piccata. All were delicious and not overpriced. I can't recall the last time Husband ordered a pasta dish in a restaurant! As I was eating the steak something tasted a little off and it wasn't until I woke up this morning with extreme fatigue and nausea that I put two and two together. Do not ever go to this place they poison the food here I'm lucky I didn't end up in the hospital from my experience here. I will never come here in a million years. Loved the extensive amount of gluten free options however I found the food to be kind of bland and tasteless. We got a chicken quesadilla, cheese fries with bacon but there really wasn't much cheese on them at all. And chicken tenders and calamari. The chicken tenders were the best thing we ate! They were probably the best gluten free chicken tenders I've ever had they were super juicy and the breading was good but again lacking flavor. The chicken quesadilla was greasy and had literally no flavor other and it was all just wet from grease probably from the cheese cuz the outside was not greasy. The calamari was just lacking any seasoning at all. The cheese fries as I said before were just lacking cheese and bacon. It was sad to see because they do have so many options. Willing to try again just because of the chicken tenders! But I hope they just season more. Salt, onion powder, garlic powder, adobo seasoning literally any of those would enhance all of the things we ate! read more

Today was my first time even hearing about this place and I am so glad I did. We walked in and it's a really cute place, incredible sports memorabilia every where, the ambiance was nice. My husband had the fish and chips and said they were to die for! We had the onion and cabbage soup which was out of this world. The gluten free calamari was amazing! It's not easy to perfect gluten free, but they have succeeded in that feat, above and beyond. Every thing is über fresh. I had the steak tips and a salad. The steak tips were extremely flavorful! Nicely charred on the outside, juicy on the inside! I would definitely recommend this place, especially since they understand the meaning of gluten free, and have a separate menu for it! My friend and I wanted to grab a quick bite and a few drinks on a Friday afternoon. We ended up at Box Seats primarily because the location was convenient and we hadn't heard anything bad about the place. Well.... Immediately when we walked through the front door we were whacked in the face with a foul odor...I'm still not entirely sure if it was mold or sewage backup or what (all I know is my friend said the smell was worse in the bathroom...I'll let you all draw your own conclusions there). Being a little pressed for time, we decided to stick it out. The dining room was completely empty when we arrived (granted this was at 3pm - so that's not necessarily unexpected) and we grabbed 2 seats at the bar (which only had 2 inhabitants at that point in time). The bartender greeted us promptly and we ordered two of their house margaritas and decided to split some appetizers. We ordered the calamari, the chicken quesadilla, and my dining companion ordered a cup of chowder. The drinks were fine - a little heavy on the sour mix for my personal preference, but not bad. Our food came out quickly enough and the quesadilla was pretty good - but the calamari was probably some of the worst I've ever had in my life. And I know what you're saying to yourself: "Chris - you ordered calamari at a restaurant in a shopping plaza on the side of Route 1, what did you expect?"
