Stopped by Tavern in the Square in Wrentham with a few coworkers for lunch on a weekend, and we had an awesome time! Even for a weekend, it wasn't overly crowded and we were seated right away. The atmosphere is super chill--great vibe for kicking back and watching whatever games are on the screens. I tried the alcohol-free Berry Mule. Although it didn't come served in a traditional copper mule cup, it was still super refreshing and delicious! We also split the nachos; they were good, though next time we'll definitely add chicken or beef to take them to the next level. The absolute star of the show, however, was the Chicken & Burrata Sandwich. It was to die for! The fig jam paired ridiculously well with the savory chicken and creamy cheese, and the sweet potato fries on the side were cooked to perfection. Nice TitS location at the front of the Wrentham Outlets. Turn in to park at the very tall "Wrentham Outlet" sign in the parking lot and they are straight ahead. Giant parking lot means you may have to walk a bit. They were mobbed on a Saturday, lunch time. We took one of the few seats free at the bar. Bartenders are very busy and there wasn't any chit-chat with them. They did keep an eye on us pretty well though so no complaints. We ordered a burger and a Caesar salad with steak tips. The burger was tasty and cooked as ordered. The bun fell apart though and it became a 'knife and fork' meal instead of a handheld. The lettuce in the Caesar was very fresh, the dressing is mild and pleasant. The steak tips were cooked a ordered. I'm not a fan of whatever jarred marinade they use on the steak tip though. Would not order them again. Restrooms are big and pretty clean considering the amount of people in and out of there. The water at the sink though is so hot people were getting their hands burned, so be careful. I did ask about it and was told the water temperature is out of their control. I traditionally love tavern in the square (normally go to the Cranston location). I did think it was a little weird that the menu isn't the same at each location. I don't love it but I don't hate it. Service was great and food was delicious as expected. The portion of steak on the salad was a little smaller than I would have liked. Rosemary parm fries are very yummy. You have to get there at the start of lunch or dinner in order to get a nice spot to enjoy the outer perimeter of the dining area. The food is very nicely prepared and well made especially the pasta dishes. The wait staff provides a great team work effort in getting your meals to your table in a timely manner. read more

Stopped in after a morning of shopping. I can't speak highly enough about my quinoa bowl. My friend had a chicken Caesar. We asked for some bread and received a delightful flatbread. Our server was friendly, albeit timid. My only issue was the bill wasn't split between our credit cards. Instead of just fixing and rerunning, she came over apologetically, requiring the friend to Venmo me half. Not a huge deal, but it was inconvenient. Anyhoo, LOVED my bowl. Black Friday shopping at Wrentham requires major sustenance Always a great time at Tavern in the Square. Although this was my first time visiting this location. The location has a nice upbeat & welcoming vibe - clean, modern & lively. Despite it being the Black Friday rush, our server was attentive and we were taken cared of. Eager to return to our regular scheduled programming/shopping...!! We each grabbed a different burger off the menu and it certainly did not disappoint. Both burgers were cooked to perfection & were absolutely delicious. It's a great spot to grab a meal after shopping at the outlets -- easy parking, fast service, and consistently great food. My reason for them missing out on that illusive 5th star... Now I completely understand restaurants have to manage the incoming traffic, table capacity & the kitchen being potentially backed up. However, they appeared to be fully staffed with an abundance of servers, at least two hostesses, two floor managers and a full kitchen firing on all cylinders. And yet, they had countless of free tables on the floor, servers simply standing around, but long wait times for over an hour to be seated. read more

I went to Tavern in the Square in Wrentham and the experience was very mixed. The bang bang broccoli was good, but the maple wings were bland and honestly not worth it. I was also really disappointed to learn that the menus are different from other Tavern locations. I go to Tavern often and I have never had that surprise before. What really threw me off was the host. A young brunette girl spoke to my family in such a rude way that I was shocked. It is not what you say but how you say it. She told us, "I need you to move somewhere else. I have to sit someone here," which was unnecessary. A simple, "We have a party we need to seat here, would you mind stepping over here while your group is being called," would have been more respectful. She could see and hear that we were unhappy with her tone and did not offer even a basic apology. We had already been waiting twenty five minutes and it just was not worth the argument. Our server was the one bright spot. She truly made up for the poor experience at the door and took great care of our group of eight. Between sub par food, a different menu, a great server, and a very unpleasant host experience, this lands at three stars. It honestly would have been two stars if the server had not been as good as she was. Also, I told the same host the bathroom had barely any toilet paper and when I went back the second time...still no toilet paper. We were so hungry after the wait in line and food prep I would have probably drew back a nub if I tried taking food photos,lol. went to the outlets on Saturday so we stopped here for lunch, nice place good spot, the crew was very nice but the food was just adequate. It was busy about 80% capacity at 1pm. I had the fried chicken sandwich, big piece of white meat on a brioche bun, pretty sure they forgot the dressing...oops, kinda critical brings the sandwich together. The others in my group had a burger, big and beefy not over cooked, good and the Korean bbq chicken, spicy probably the best of the bunch. Home made chips are good, and fries good. read more

Maybe expectations were lower, but our table of 4 were blown away by the quality of food at this establishment. There were numerous food options, including several food trucks, at this outdoor outlet mall, but I just wanted someone to serve me food after a rough few days, so we picked this sit down restaurant. I got their higher end steak burger, and it was thick, juicy, and most impressively, cooked REALY well. Pinkish throughout - almost picture perfect for a burger. We also got the salmon bowl, and we are determined to figure out how to cook our salmon in the same way, in smaller pieces with crispy edges. The chicken sandwich was impressive in size, and the chicken fingers were generous and moist. This was really a delightful meal to end our shopping experience before a long ride home. We had a good meal at Tavern in the Square. I got a few rewards in my mobile app account and that made me head over and get some food at Tavern in the Square. My husband got the meatloaf (a Winter special dish) and I got the honey salmon (sauce on the side). The meatloaf was delicious...hearty and savory not too salty. Loved the gravy that came with it. The salmon was very bland, so I had to pour some of the sauce on it and add some black pepper...that made it better. There was a lot of rice with the dish, which made me happy. The interior is quite nice with a large bar area and lots of choices in the way of bar drinks. The restaurant is quite welcoming and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The burgers look amazing (I only saw them and did not order one). My issue is the price, I know this is a high rent area but the prices seem exceptionally high. We just ordered drinks and an appetizer and our bill was $70. Definitely looking for an alternative when in the area. read more

Like my husband ordered his 2nd beer and waited a good while for that bottled Heineken. She said they had to go out back to grab it but she could have said that as we waited and I had to ask a second time for the drink. We were done with our meal and he halted to have a drink with his. I had the fish and chips. I am not such a fan of breadcrumb fish and chips. I want the batter and shoe string fries is not my ideal for this combo either. But I did like their tartar sauce. My husband had the Nashville hot and he said it was more sweet than anything and that's not his style. It was not a great visit for my husband as he ordered wings and they were sold out. Food exceeded my expectations, but service was slow, bare bones, and then rushed. The place was packed at 3pm on a Saturday and there was a small wait. They texted me when our table was ready. The space is quite large and extends into a pretty big patio, and we sat in a booth by the bathroom, which was convenient for my friend who had a 6 month baby in tow. Unfortunately it took the server 15 mins to come to our table, and she took our order, checked in on us when our meals were almost done and tried to take our plates twice before we were finished. I understand they have to turn the table, but I didn't appreciate being rushed. To start I ordered an alcoholic beverage and for some reason the server had to come back 2 different times to verify only my ID which I thought was super weird. Don't think you will escape the pandemonium that is the Wrentham Premium Outlets by ducking into Tavern on the Square for a quick respite in the form of a quiet lunch. As much chaos swirls inside this restaurant as there is outside ... it's like eating in a crowded train station or bustling mall food court at triple the prices. The food here is American comfort food ... the very reason this country's 'national size' is XXL. Everything here is fried, drizzled in a mayonnaise-centered sauce ... or boring af. We spied on all of our neighbors' plates at the bar trying to figure out what to order. The salmon ($22) was zig-zagged with a bright orange sauce ... the burgers ($18) looked less tasty than the menu indicated they might be, a bit on the thin side ... and the tater tots appetizer ($14) looked like they could raise your pants size just by looking at them. The only word we could think of to describe the fish tacos, which was both our first choice before we saw them, was 'sad'. We opted for one healthy and two not so healthy dishes: Buffalo Cauliflower, which at one time was easy to find on menus, now not so much. I love it. This dish was good. Crispy batter, well cooked and not mushy cauliflower and a spicy peppery sauce. The blue cheese dipping dressing tasted identical to ranch with a few crumbles at the bottom. The tiny slivers of celery were not nearly enough garnish. Fried pickles were greasy ... so much so that they came looking wet and shiny. It had some kind of cornmeal batter and was fairly average. I would have passed on this dish. The butternut squash and farro salad was the standout dish. Way too much lettuce and not so much else. Luckily we like lettuce. The dressing was bland ... ranch with no zip or herbs. While it might sound like I am being negative ... I will say that out of anything we ate, the flavours blended best in this dish. It's also likely the healthiest thing on the menu. The beer menu was great. Lots of good IPAs and other beers. $8 small or $10 large ... I can never tell if that's normal with inflation or expensive but I can remember the days when $10 would buy you a 12 pack vs. a single draft (In 2018) Coors Light is the special you want to go with. The beer cold have been colder. Overall, for what we got, it seemed expensive .. the beers really added to the final bill. We liked the industrial vibe in terms of the decor and there was a good buzz of conversation and activity. I guess compared to the Cracker Barrel or a food truck, this is where you want to eat at Wrentham. read more

My friends and I made reservations for a Tuesday at 12:30 pm for a party of 5. I hit a lot of traffic on the way but wasn't a problem since most of the group had arrived by that time. Given how full it was, it was appropriate to book the reservations. For meals we tried their fish n chips, blacken fish tacos, cesar salad, chicken quesadilla, and the quinoa bowl. The fish was large, thin and crispy. The mango salad with the fish taco was not sweet and therefore disappointing. Cesar salad was okay, I was happy it wasn't drenched in dressing. The quesadilla was also mediocre which is to be expected with a bar food type of place. I did thoroughly enjoy my bowl but found there to be way too much goat cheese. Next time I would definitely scoop out about half of it as it was not necessary. Overall, our waitress was very nice and checked on us when she could. Food can either be a hit or miss. As a result, I'm not sure if I would come back or try another restaurant in the area as I was not very impressed. read more

She didn't rush us to leave after paying bill, though was busy lunch time. Food was delicious; everything we ordered came out perfect. We were freezing and had a baby with us; other areas weren't as cold (noticed when walking to bathroom) but was busy so we didn't ask to be moved. 2.This location doesn't serve brunch; we didn't realize till we got there. 3. However, the best thing on his plate were the mashed potatoes. it's not often i write a negative review but for $70 the quality just wasn't there. After a successful shopping trip to the Matouk Factory Store in Fall River, MA, my wife expressed the desire to see what the Wrentham Village Premium Outlets had to offer. We had never been there before. After the 35-mile drive on mostly expressway highways we arrived hungry since we hadn't eaten since breakfast, and it was now approaching dinner time. Yelp indicated that there was a good BBQ spot nearby, but upon driving there we found it to be a takeout place with picnic tables. Heading back to the outlets, with over 170 stores, we chose Tavern in the Square over Cracker Barrel, Ruby Tuesday, Uno Pizzeria, and several small shops or food trucks. We were promptly seated in a comfy booth beneath windows allowing a view into the kitchen. Plenty of TVs were within sight from our booth and the nearby bar was populated with numerous customers and about 25 drafts, mostly locally brewed. While my wife ordered a large bottle of Saratoga Water ($5.50), I started with a 20 oz. Jack's Abby House Lager ($9) and Sweet Potato Pakora ($10) for an appetizer. The Lager was good and the Pakora was nothing like any pakora I'd ever had before. They were FLAT. If they had indeed been scooped up by a spoon to place in the fryer, the batter could not hold them in any shape close to resembling a ball. The thin, flat result ended up overcooking causing each pakora to be hard and tough. Not chewy or even crisp. The curried Greek yogurt for dipping was fine. Remember that window into the kitchen that I mentioned above? This had already become an issue for my wife. There was this one employee that my wife had observed picking up and munching on french-fries from what she came to assume were customers' plates waiting to be delivery to tables. She hoped he wouldn't be delivering any of our dishes, especially after seeing him wipe his nose with his hand. Yup! That's who brought my wife's Quinoa Bowl ($18) and my Honey Citrus Salmon ($27) to our table. Her Quinoa Bowl was a very colorful combination of roasted broccoli, beets, Brussels sprouts, chili roasted root vegetables, avocado, and kale with honeycrisp dressing on the side. We both found it very flavorful. My Salmon was properly cooked and served over cider braised cabbage, pickled fennel, and gnocchi that were not the advertised "pan crisped" but otherwise OK. This is my second time here and I firstly want to give a huge shoutout to the bartenders Kate and Sarah. It's been so long since I've had a drink mixed so well!!! I brought my family with me today and we sat at a table where, Nani was our waitress and she was sooooo nice and pleasant. I had my 5 year old and she conversed with her about the meal, it was so cute. I love coming to places with people that love their job, and if they don't then they surely act like it. I think I've found my new favorite spot. Ooooo and I didn't even bring up the food!!! The salmon!! The steak tips!!! The freshness of the salads and veggies! I could go on! Have always wanted to stop in here and try this place. Finally did and I have to say although the food was decent, the service was not. I sat at the bar and it was not a busy night. I asked for a shipyard pumpkin head but the keg had kicked and they were not going to change it. Unfortunately the bartender was more concerned with cleaning up for the night and servicing the staff who had just finished. I only had one drink, since she never asked me if I wanted another, and it would have been nice to get some ketchup but she never checked to see if everything was alright after it was brought out.
