James Montgomery indulged me with a selfie

I saw the James Montgomery band last night at the Tap with friends. It was an amazing experience. I loved the warm, cozy feeling of a an Irish bar. We sat at a communal table and everyone around it was very friendly. My drinks were made exactly as I ordered and the waitress knew what "dirty rocks on the side" meant and delivered. And then there was the smash burger. This burger was not your typical bar burger..it was the best smash burger I have ever had. Thin and a little crispy but still juicy. The sauce, condiments and buttery brioche roll with it just gave it a certain something. I opted for a salad on the side but after tasting the house made chips my friend ordered, I regretted trying to be healthy. The chips were crispy without being too greasy or salty. The salad was very fresh and tasty. Another friend ordered the beef stew and declared it delicious. James and the band delivered a fabulous blues performance with his incredible harmonica solos and a few funky songs that had some up on their feet and dancing. If you are looking for great food, drink, and live music, you owe it to yourself to check out The Tap Cumberland.

Love the new place! Live music tonight! Great drinks, great service! The menu is small but everything has been great! The spiced bag is super creative and delicious!!! You won't be disappointed! The grilled cheese (I got plain!) was yum either way crispy fries! Looking forward to making my way through the menu! Welcome to the neighborhood!

Love this place! Great owner & staff, amazing drinks, cold beers and tasty food. Checks all the boxes. It can be very loud sometimes, especially if there's a band!

Menu - A menu board from The Tap features sections for salads, appetizers, hand-helds, and sides, with prices and descriptions for each item.

Very friendly staff and owner. We come every week or two, for drinks, a regular sized meal, (not an over stuffed plate with 4 pounds of food that will wind up in the trash, for which you get the pleasure of a $20 check), and the atmosphere. Ambience is just right, and the patrons are pleasant and easy to engage. It became one of our new regular haunts after the very first visit. We are actually heading there in 20 minutes. Have my dark and stormy ready!!!

A perfect pint - A top-down view of a glass filled with beer, showing a foamy head, on a dark wooden table.

This spot happens to be on my way home from the office and I'm glad I stopped in. Overall the place is small, with both table dining and bar seating. My friend and I chose to sit at the bar. Meaghan was our bartender. Friendly and informative, she really knew the menu. I got garlic teriyaki wings, my friend got a double order of plain and we shared a pepperoni, half black olive pizza. The wings were huge and juicy. The sauce was so good, and they did a great job of coating the wings in a way that they were well covered but the sauce wasn't dripping off. The pizza was better than average. I had heard it described as bar pie in the local pizza Facebook group but that isn't accurate. It's got the thickness of a Greek style pizza but not baked in a pan. The pizza sauce has a nice tang to it that I prefer. It very easy to eat. Initially I thought I would be taking some pizza home for lunch the next day but before I knew it, I had polished off the wings and 6/8 of the pizza. My only criticism of the pie is I'm a stickler for a proper half and half split and the olives were on a majority of the pie instead of only half. I finished with a Snicker inspired drink created by our bartender. It's butterscotch forward in flavor and is decidedly a dessert drink. It was a lovely sweet treat to finish the meal. What I love most about the Food Fight events is having the opportunity to discover small spots like this one. Having a place to hide away from traffic on the way home from work is clutch, so I will be back sooner rather than later. I'm looking forward to the next time I stop by!

These Tator tots that were on special with pulled pork were so good. But the biggest surprise was the cauliflower. Hands down THEE BEST fried cauliflower I've ever had in my life. Not soft and mushy but crispy great flavor and the sweet chili sauce was not over powering. The bartender was super friendly and gave us some recs as well. I would drive the hour again to this spot.

It's located right at the entrance of an industrial area. There is a very small lot for parking but it was completely full when we visited today, so we parked along the road where a number of other cars were also parked. This seemed to be okay and the signs just requested folks not park on the grass. The entrance is set back from the street so you kind of need to go around towards the back. We saw they had a food truck, Farm to Sandwich, which although kind of pricey, was super delicious. We both got the All American Smash burger with fries. Fries were so crisp and well crafted and the burger was amazing with a great sauce reminiscent of a Big Mac. For beers, since it was our first time here, we decided to try a bit of everything with flights. Their flights are $13 for 4, 5 oz pours. I chose the Coffee Milk Stout, You are Such an Ass, Bienvenu and Justin's Jangle. We started which the You are Such an Ass IPA, which was described as a light IPA but really didn't taste like an IPA at all. We honestly thought they had poured us the wrong beer. As IPA enthusiasts, this was disappointing. The Bienvenu, which is a Red Ale with Panela (unrefined Colombian sugar cane) was infinitely better. The Coffee Milk Stout, I understand is very popular, but I thought this was average. Justin's Jangle, a Maple Praline Porter was my favorite! Really nice, complex brew! We also really enjoyed the live music from Jake Frezza, a local musician out of North Providence. He sang and played guitar and covered a diverse sampling of songs including Brittney Spears (Toxic), James Taylor and Marvin Gaye. His version of "What's Going On" was particularly excellent. I normally dread listening to live performers at breweries but this guy is actually very talented! Kudos to Ravenous for engaging such a high quality musician! Also, for a Saturday, it was not overcrowded or over run with kids. There was just one family with a super quiet baby and we noted just one dog inside. On exiting, I saw they have a nice memorial where they offer to pour a beer to a fallen service member. Very nice! Gender neutral restrooms Pinball Separate rooms make it quieter than breweries in just one big industrial space. Friendly service at the bar and no lines! Bar stools with no back, kind of uncomfortable and there seemed to be no other seating options like chairs or sofas. In summary: Highlights: Bienvenu Red Ale Justin's Jangle Jake Frezza live music Nice memorial to fallen soldiers Low Lights: You are Such an Ass IPA Barstools/ seating Would definitely stop back here again when in the area!

There is a couch and several high top tables along with bar seating. There are a couple of big screen TVs, a "pick & pay for your song" machines, and a little cubby with a few games you can play. We had no intention of eating anything, but several of the item on the menu sounded quite tempting. They serve things like burgers, flatbreads and wings. Menu isn't huge. We struck up a conversation with the cook and he ended up bringing us out a sample of wings. They were delicious! I wish I hadn't eaten dinner already because I would've ordered more! Definitely makes me want to come back and try other things. Aside from the cook, the rest of the staff was super friendly. You can tell their heart is in it. The food and service were not up to snuff, as our waitress was rather slow and inattentive. The salad I ordered was STILL not correct in that it featured items which I specifically asked to be removed. I did note that my salad was brought out in a bowl and not a sheet pan, which was an improvement over last time. The thing was that there were less than 10 people in the restaurant at the time as we arrived around noontime and I would have thought that the waitstaff would have had the time to attend to us in a proper fashion, but they were content to mill about close to the bar area. The drinks were OK and though not spectacular, were still good and met with my expectations. Apparently, management has yet to take appropriate steps to ensure that the waitstaff is attentive and the food is brought out properly. My wife ordered things that were more in line with this restaurant's strengths and she thought everything was fine, but as with the last time I was here, it seemed that little attention was paid to dishes that are not fried or battered in some way. While I realize that it is impossible to be all things to all people, when I order something at a restaurant, I expect it to be perfect considering the prices. All in all, I will not be returning to this place unless some serious improvements are made not only in the quality of the dishes, but in the attentiveness of the staff.
