    Pre-Thanksgiving trivia night

Trivia night with friends! The food is great, served hot and flavorful. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was fun & playful. Plenty of bar room, pool tables, and seating. Menu was an array of bar food and greats cocktails and beer.

Always love watching a good ol' college football game surrounded by like minded people at Snookers! The vibes are incredible and the staff is very nice and friendly! Their drinks are also amazing. The flat bread I got wasn't the best, as it was a little cold and the tomato sauce was too sweet, but the mozzarella sticks were amazing!!!

Welp.... I hate leaving crappy reviews but I have to be honest. My son has a peanut/treenut allergy so we always let server know in advance to make sure they are able to accommodate. My son ordered the fried t-bird, no onions, no bacon. My husband ordered bonesless buffalo tenders extra saucy and I ordered buffalo chicken quesadillas. My food came out delicious. My husbands tenders were definitely not extra saucy and over fried (hard, crunchy breading). My sons sandwich came out grilled with bacon. He didn't realize it was fried at first because it has cheese. He removed bacon and took a bite before realizing it was grilled. He didn't enjoy it at all. We let server know and she said that the chef said fried was chance of cross contamination so she brought out grilled instead. While I appreciate safety was kept in mind, it would have been nice to have refused the grilled prior to making and serving it. He opted for a basket of fries instead. I hate waste and we were initially charged for the uneaten, unwanted sandwich. We had to ask for a manager to remove it. The fries were very salty so he drowned them in ketchup to make them palatable. Overall just meh. To be honest we probably won't return for awhile. It depends on who the chef is if the food will be good or not. It's unpredictable. Management, and servers are always nice but chefs meh.

Nothing really special about this place but I came here on Sunday afternoon with my kids for some light snacks along with some pools. Drinks and foods we got all tasted fine and the kids had a fun time so what could I say more than that. We will probably return again!

Went in for a quick appetizer. Boneless buffalo tenders we usually always order. Asked for them extra saucy come out just how we like them. Server was nice just couldn't find her when it was time to pay. It's always a chill environment with lots of tv's they had on the Olympics which was cool to watch. Definitely coming back

My thoughts on the food: it's alright!! I enjoyed my drink, which was one of the Super Bowl…read morespecials. I also liked the wings, we tried garlic Parmesan, buffalo, and Thai chili I believe. They were my favorite part. We also ordered the buffalo chicken pizza, which in my opinion was very bleu cheesey, but I also do not have much experience with buffalo chicken pizza. My concern was that the crust was really thin and just not that great, but still had a couple slices. The buffalo sauce was good for sure. We also had the cookie skillet for dessert which was very ooey gooey but perhaps a little too sweet. You may be thinking, "well yeah of course it's sweet, it's a cookie skillet," but it was an over powering sweetness. But it was a really good portion for sharing with my group of three! The vibe here was pretty nice, the old-firehouse-turned-bar is cool and the decor matches the aesthetic well. There are booths in little nooks and others out in the open and I like the variability. They also have a privateish area for private events. Theres even a parking lot! The service was also good, I was there for their Super Bowl watch party, and while it wasn't insanely busy, the servers were very attentive. As I said, I came here for the Super Bowl with some friends. They had raffles going, a DJ, plenty of TVs showing the game, some free swag, and a special menu. It was nice! They had a special drink menu, although it did advertise deals on food which ended up not being true. I had fun watching the game here, and while the place wasn't packed, most of the other spectators were from the local colleges... they were rather annoying, especially by the end of the night. Different groups were arguing with each other by the end, and one kid swore at the DJ for drawing a raffle winner that wasn't one of the college kids. The kids were leaving so the staff didn't need to intervene I'd say. But it brought us non-college student patrons together. Ah, the game day spirit! So if you're looking for a mature crowd, this may not be the place!

You know those spots that make you wonder if anyone in the kitchen has tasted their own food…read morebefore? Ladder 133 is that kind of beautiful disappointment - a place where the bones of something great are buried under the mediocrity of execution. The building itself, a converted Providence firehouse, practically begs you to love it. Red brick exterior, high ceilings, industrial charm that whispers stories of brass poles and midnight alarms. The kind of place that should be serving food as honest as the first responders who once called it home. Instead, what you get is a study in missed opportunities. Take the pizza - please. In a city that practically invented the art of turning basic ingredients into something transcendent, what arrives is a sad testament to lowered expectations. The crust has that unmistakable character of something that's seen the inside of a freezer, though someone's at least tried to jazz it up with some grill marks. The sauce tastes like it's trying to remember what tomatoes were like in a past life, and the cheese... well, calling it forgettable would require remembering it was there in the first place. The bathroom walls tell their own story - the kind of graffiti that speaks less to youthful rebellion and more to management's casual relationship with giving a shit. It's the little things that tell you everything in a restaurant, and unattended bathroom graffiti screams volumes about attention to detail. Yet somehow, like a random act of culinary kindness, they manage to nail the chicken parm sliders. Decent chunks of tender chicken, nestled in pillowy Hawaiian rolls, actually dressed with sauce and cheese that remember their purpose in life. It's like stumbling across a coherent paragraph in a book full of gibberish. The cookie skillet dessert arrives like a cruel joke - burnt to carbon on the outside while maintaining a center so raw it could probably evolve into sentient life if given enough time. It's the kind of dish that makes you wonder if the oven's temperature settings are more suggestion than rule. But here's the thing - the bartender actually did a great job. Quick with refills, genuine smile, the kind of service that makes you want to like the place more than the food allows. It's reasonably priced too, though that feels less like value and more like an apology. Providence has real culinary chops, Ladder 133 is what happens when potential jumps towards the pole and face-plants. Sure, come for a game, throw down a few beers, maybe grab those surprisingly decent sliders. But for the love of all things holy and Rhode Island, get your pizza somewhere else. This is the kind of place that reminds you why the phrase "sports bar food" often comes with built-in expectations of disappointment. At least the building's still cool.

I know there are some great breakfast spots nearby. Like legit brunch go to spots. But - I was not willing to give up my free parking to get there. Ha! Was thinking I'd an omelette off menu was where I'd end up but got there and found out there's a buffet with a an omelette station...was it more expensive? Not sure but for $25 there was plenty of fruit, breakfast sides, waffles, and so much more. Abraham whipped up an amazing veggie egg white omelette for me. Service was attentive and prompt. Providence's own version of CHEERS…read more I've been here several times now and consider the Ivy Tavern to be the best bar in Providence. The customers are all super nice, unique, and interesting humans. Moreover, the staff of AAJJMO --- Alex, Allen, Josh, Julia, Mike, and Olivia --- are incredibly friendly, witty, and funny. The cocktails and food are also outstanding - I especially recommend the bimbap bowl, fish and chips, korean wings, and burger. You will also find the service to be top notch. The bartenders/servers gird up their loins and exhibit extreme hustle during peak hours, while still being able to charm you with a wink or a joke as they move from table to table. If you have not been to the Ivy in the past few years, I highly recommend it. Since Allen was hired as manager a few years ago, the place has become one of Providence's hidden gems.

Rating: 3.5 stars…read more The food was good, but not worth the price. The burger didn't taste like anything special and the bun just tasted like it was pulled right from the store-bought bag. Similarly, the fries were definitely from a freezer bag of french fries and barely had salt or pepper. Basically it tasted like what you'd have at like a backyard cookout? TLDR: fine, but it shouldn't cost $18 + tip. For this price I expect a nice toasted bun & homemade fries & a bit more flavor. They also messed up my order which is not a big deal but the waiter came back to the table to confirm my order and when he repeated it back, he had the temperature and the cheese wrong. It was then brought to me with tomato but no lettuce-- I had asked for lettuce with no tomato. The waiter was nice though!

Not the kind of place I really want to sit in and enjoy a cocktail. Dungeon like. The music is loud hip hop, not something I mind, but worth noting if thats not for you. I sat at the bar, and honestly didn't feel like it was super clean. I don't think the counter had been wiped down for a while. Staff were doing their best but seemed overwhelmed on a Saturday night. I was watching them make the cocktails and did not feel like it was very sanitary. They've got one small sink they're rinsing everything in, they were chucking stuff, literally chucking and slamming metal. They were dumping out people's drinks into the same side of the sink and then rinsing in the other side. But stuff was splashing into what should be the clean side. It's not a good setup for a cocktail bar. The cocktail menu had 8 drinks on it, 2 they were out of. Nothing had whiskey in it. I got a drink called Darjeeling something. Really didn't like it, didn't taste balanced and it looked different than someone else's who ordered the same thing, not sure if the bartender forgot an ingredient. The bartender also wasn't tasting the drinks which I usually see to ensure it was made correctly. This one had curry in it as a listed ingredient and it was just way too strong a flavor. It was a rum drink with some mezcal but it just tastes like mezcal and curry powder. The place was pretty busy but people were coming and going frequently. There's only one bathroom which really isn't enough for a bar. Seems like there's potential here but I didn't like the menu offerings and the sanitary concerns leave me with no desire to come back here.
