My daughter goes to college in the area and when we moved her in last year my husband and I enjoyed dinner here. This year, move in was less chaotic and we took our daughter here with us for lunch. We were warmly greeted and seated. Food is top quality. Nice menu too. Lots of options. Something for everyone. I will say my family is not a fan of the local soda they serve. It doesn't have much flavor. My orange soda didn't taste orangey. My husband ordered cheese fries, my daughter ordered a tasty fiesta chicken sandwich loaded with avocado, pico and pepper jack cheese, and I had the buttermilk chicken sandwich. This is my favorite burger, ever, and this is the first place I ever had it. Banana, applewood smoked bacon & creamy peanut butter with an added runny egg and syrup. 10/10. We had the same waitress and I adore her. Great personality and service, as always. I love how the restaurant has opened up more space since we went when they first opening. Every table has enough space or you can sit at their good sized bar. It's a little out of the way unless you're going to a concert or even at Great Woods but it's worth the trip! read more

We've been long time fans of Mac & Walt's. For a smaller restaurant they have a great section of beer, bourbon & whiskey. I was able to get the last pour of a Lot B for $30. That's a very reasonable price for that bottle. We've never had an issue with service and they are more than accommodating with any requests. I appreciate the simple cozy feel inside. Some lights are made of empty bottles and adds a nice touch. The food is always good and the burgers / buns are amazing. Tonight's meal was one of the best. We live in the next town over and discovered this little place one night when we were desperate for a good smash burger. Since then we've probably come once a month to satisfy that craving. Cozy and comfortable, we're eaten at both the bar and at the tables, and every time the staff is great. The burgers are always fantastic and messy in the best way. But I also love their burgers, but I had a burger for lunch so I went with the chicken Wings and cornbread, they were very good, the maple butter that comes with the cornbread is delicious and it helped moisten the cornbread which was a tad on the dry side. Very create drink menu. If I'm being honest the MA made whiskey drinks are what got me on the door in the first place. This was our first time visiting the restaurant, we arrived mid afternoon, so after the lunch rush, but before dinner. We waited 30 minutes without anyone coming over to us, after 30 minutes, we came to the conclusion that our waiter or waitress does not know they have us as a table, my husband went to the host saying no one has come over to us, not even passing by letting us know they would be over soon. Disappointed it took us having to go to the hostess desk just to be waited on, awkward position for us, and the waitress seemed far from apologetic. She just said I have a lot of tables, which I understand but if that is the case as you're passing by, just tell the party that so they're not just sitting there for 30 minutes wondering what to do. Fantastic food and service. Came in for lunch at noon on a Friday with a coworker. Our server, Sam, came over right away and she was great all around. Okay.... I don't know what's up with all the good reviews because this place was NOT It. Ordered a chicken sandwich, 1/2 order of fries, and soft Pretzel for pick up... the soft pretzels were the only thing I liked and finished!!! And the cheese for the pretzels was a weird consistency (barely liked the cheese really just the Pretzels). I could NOT finish he chicken sandwich. The bread was soggy, the chicken was undercooked & not good, not taste to it at all.... The fries were definitely undercooked even tho they were brown. I hate fries that look like that anyway. Not the place to look for a firm tofu sandwich topped with lentil puree, broccoli rabe, and spirulina...but pretty good nonetheless. We got take-out and ordered the Baby Got Mac burger which was a beefburger sandwiched between crusty slices of mac & cheese and also with candied bacon, onion rings, and a cheesy sauce. Definitely tasty and all-American, but probably not recommended for someone on a low-cholesterol diet. We also had a Reuben Sandwich which my wife liked. Prices were very fair as well. The one slightly off-note were the Shishito Peppers appetizer (see photo). They weren't bad, but nothing special. Their YELP ad did a great job. Was at the top of the list of near by restaurants and a quick peak at the photos of the inside got me to try it out. Well I went with two pulled pork tacos and the honey biscuits to start with. The biscuits were great but I only got 1 of the 2 because SOME FUTURE HUSBAND thinks it was ordered for the table. I haven't said I do yet buddy!!! What's mine is mine! Anyways both my choices were on point and seans Wings were great. They let you do multiple flavors on the wings which is great for those who can't decide.
