Went on a Saturday morning for breakfast. The place was busy ... so expect a little wait. Once seated our server appeared almost immediately and our food was not far behind. First visit after a considerable absence. Had breakfast - eggs, rye toast, shreds, slice of ham. All fine and delivered in short order. I would have liked a slightly thicker slice of ham, though, so as not to be so dry. My issue is with the price increases. For example, the 8 oz sirloin is now $16. I do agree with that price. However, I can't justify ordering it based on the poor quality of the sides (not shown anywhere). Yellow and orange choices don't appeal to me, nor does the canned variety. Fresh would be preferred, but there are also some good quality frozen vegetables. Kozy Nook in Westport offers green beans and broccoli as staples on their menu. Decent quality frozen, and they go well with a steak. I would love to have the steak, as well as some other dinners, but the sides have to improve. Happy to see a shaved steak sub on the menu. When I saw the steak was being used in hash, I thought that was a waste, and they should offer a sandwich as well, and they have. Will try soon. read more

I only came here to try to try it out since the place I always go to for breakfast was closed.. I was very surprised of how good Somerset Grille was! The food was the very basic (how I like it) scrambled eggs, home fries and toast. I also ordered a grilled corn muffin, which was delicious. Service was excellent! The staff went above and beyond, to the point where if your coffee cup was half full they would come over and refill it and if you even looked in their direction they were very attentive and would come right over. Complete team effort at this breakfast spot! Very underrated and one of the better breakfast places around! read more

Once again, I am disappointed. The service has declined greatly since new ownership. Went in today and it wasn't very busy, but clearly understaffed. Had to ask the bus boy if he could get a waitress to get our order. The waitress was rude and never returned. Had to flag down another waitress to refill coffees. Our food was up for quite some time before it was brought over by a different server. Again, our server never did anything but take our order. Didn't get the drinks, or bring the food, or refill or ask if everything was good. No excuses. It's been over a year now. The menus need to be laminated. read more

This place is always had a good breakfast. But there hours are all over the place. I know they're new owners well still somewhat knew I should say. Nice people trying to get it together I guess. Staff is friendly and efficient. I just wish they would get the hours up and going make it permanent. The best days of the week to go out for dinner usually the weekends and they're not even open. The food and the portions are good. Most of it anyways. They make a good breakfast. Actually I would say that would be there main thing. I don't think I'd order like a steak dinner here and expect it to be like The place up the road. It's like going to an Italian restaurant ordering a burger. But the breakfast is a good and hopefully they'll be open everyday for breakfast and for longer hours. Again nice family but still seem to be pretty new. Hopefully time hours will be extended everyday. In closing and in all honesty I think they should just stick to one or the other... breakfast or dinner. And then be open 6 nights a week or six mornings a week until 2:00 or 3:00 for the people that work late or rise late. Sunday morning visit for breakfast arriving around 10AM. Was waitlisted with several small parties waiting for a table. Only waited around 20 minutes before being seated. Not bad in my opinion for a weekend visit. Restaurant has both booth and table seating for accommodating larger parties (more than 4). Both hubby and I had omelettes. Me a veggie, he a ham and cheese. Both were served hot with good amount of goodies inside and were made with real eggs. Coffee was above average and would classify as good. Service was good with coffee refills coming at regular times throughout our meal. Server was courteous and took order with a smile. Ambiance was a family feel with both younger patrons (with and without kids) and seniors. Not a fancy place but clean and tidy. read more

Excellent restaurant if you're passing through the area. Many of its local competitors are closed on Mondays so they've got the market literally cornered. The friendliest staff served me and my food was prepared in record time. The prices are incredibly fair and the meal portions are generous. All of the staff followed CDC guidelines and they still offer plastic guards between tables. Please give this restaurant and it's staff some business if able. they're really going above and beyond and deserve the business and recognition. read more

if i could give zero stars i would we always go here even after the new ownership, but we have noticed a severe decline in service and quality we just went today for a table of 5 and they sat three tables before us that were there after us. when we said something the girl said that we can't be put in a booth one the people that is with is a child. we would have been completely fine in a booth. unfortunately after the new ownership and noticing this decline we will not be returning. read more

Wow, what a contrast between here and the establishment I went to last time. Here at the Somerset Grille the whole experience was excellent from beginning to end. Every area I could see was clean, including the syrup squirt bottles! I ordered a breakfast BLT on a bolo. This thing had to be 2 inches high. It came out quickly, it looked fabulous and was delicious. Sorry no pix, as soon as it hit the table I was on it. There where only 2 waitress working who were outstanding in their job. As far as an old fashioned breakfast joint, it rates very close to the top in my book. On the bummer side, they do not make their own hash. At least the last time I asked they didn't. We pick up from here several times a month, as we only live about a half mile away. Always happy with breakfasts, omelets, home fries, and pancakes are yummy! Dinner Prime rib, orange glaze salmon, stuffed shrimp, plus many others have been great. Only complaint is they are only open 2 evenings a week. read more

The food was okay at best. Service was fine. But. My whole family got food poisoning from there. Vomiting all night, the chills, even passing out. Having my haircut in same plaza as Somerset Grill All I could smell was Fish and Chips! Out with idea of veggies on my grill and gave in to trying fish and chips. Did not disappoint! You can be sitting at the counter with an empty glass while eating your meal and not a one of the seven waitress that are usually gathered at the register RIGHT IN FRONT of you will one think to ask if you'd like a refill. In between waiting on tables they all gather behind the counter leaning back with their arms folded in front them and bitch about their customers. If you sit at the counter towards the middle it's common every Thursday n Friday night you can hear them bitch. Okay let me clarify why I'm giving it a 3 later. I've dined inside once & done pick up more than I can count because their clam chowder is great. The portions are huge & the food is packed filled with flavory goodness. But the reason why I'm giving it a 3 stars is because of the staffs & customer service. Like don't get me wrong, I get it's busy but it does not mean you can forget your manners or when you give me the food, your job is done. No. Like the one time I dined there, they gave me my food at a very reasonable time but after that, the staffs were all just hanging out right behind the counter. No one came to talk to us and ask how we're doing & i guess that must be okay if they think that's how they should treat customers. BUT. It is not okay for four of them to be behind the counter & not fill up my water when I was right in front of them. I was sitting at the bar. There's no excuse for that. Oh & let me tell you about what happened today. The reason why I'm writing this review. So I called to make an order for pick up. & as soon as I was done ordering my food, I asked Kim how much would it be. & I got a "You gotta wait a minute". Wonderful customer service huh Kim? Fast and friendly service despite a mile-long wait that would have been out the door if it was not freezing. The size of the lunch rush was then justified by the great food. We got the delicious clam chowder and two fish plates. The swordfish was cooked perfectly and the cod cakes were flavorful and filling. I love going to The Somerset Grill. The food is always fresh and delicious. Cooked to order. If it's not on the menu they will try their hardest to accommodate you. The staff is very friendly and always making you feel like family. They have a large menu to choose from. I look forward to seeing the daily specials as well. If it's clam cakes and chowder, prime rib, or the freshest seafood you're looking for The grill is the place to go. Try the turkey dinner with all the fixins. It's real turkey nothing processed. Was visiting my daughter's boyfriend's family in Dighton and heard some nice things about this place. If you want a diner atmosphere, this is the place. And that's exactly what I love. The food is good - I wouldn't say the best. I ordered the spinacha and swiss omelet and it was cooked just right. The rest of my family ordered eggs with hollandaise that was a little rich for my liking but okay. The french toast was delicous on texas toast. Coffee was a bit watery but the next cup (probably a new pot) was better. Overall...a good experience.
