My primary goal (pun intended) was to watch a world cup game while eating some good food and I got just that. I dragged my friend along with me. There were a couple empty seats at the bar, some of which seemed suspiciously untouched and we soon realized why; the AC was blasting overheard and although it felt nice in the beginning since it was HOT outside, after 10 minutes it felt frigid. We stayed there anyways since there was a huge TV right in front of us. I wasn't sure what to order, but the chicken and burrata sandwich sounded really good, mostly because of the sweet, salty, and creamy contrast. I ended up ordering it and upgraded my fries to parmesan fries. My friend ordered a burger with sweet potato fries. After about 15 minutes, the food came out. I knew the chicken would be grilled since I asked before ordering so my expectations were low, but it was surprisingly still moist, did taste grilled, but lacked some seasoning. I did not open the sandwich to check how much burrata there was, but adding some more would not have hurt. The fig jam was definitely the star of the show. It overpowered some of the other flavors, but I didn't mind. The caramelized onions might've also contributed to the sweetness; they were soft and good. I was glad they did not add too much arugula since it can get bitter. The ciabatta was a good choice of bread for this sandwich, and it came lightly toasted. I did not taste much of the garlic. The fries were good. They were like regular fries, but with some parmesan cheese sprinkled on top and a parmesan dipping sauce. I also ordered some secret sauce for my fries because I went down a Reddit rabbit hole and was compelled to try it. I was not impressed and it indeed tasted a lot like ketchup and mayo, with maybe a couple other things. We stayed for the full match including overtime. Stopped in here for lunch with a colleague of mine. Wasn't super hungry, but found the choice of salads and bowls appealing. I decided to go with a bowl. i went with the Aji tuna bowl. It came with about eight slices of Aji tuna prepared nicely with sesame seeds on top. Included in the bowl were pineapple chunks, avocado, cucumber, and tomatoes. It also came with onions, but that as always as a hard pass. Overall very much enjoyed the lunch. My colleague had the chicken bowl and really enjoyed it as well. Took my sister to this Tavern in the Square location on her last vacation day in RI. The hostess greeted us a party on 3 on entering there was no wait. We sat outside which we asked for but from inside it was still a nice open space. Our waitress Katherine was new she was so sweet and answered all our questions. We ordered drinks with chips and guacamole for starters, unfortunately our drinks are pre measured and tasted more like a mocktail. We informed our waitress who asked and was told there could be no additional alcohol could be added as the specific drink is premixed. She asked if we would like to speak with the manager, which we did. Micheal came over very nice, understanding and wanted to make it right, we changed our drinks at no charge, I ordered a classic margarita that was perfect. For dinner I ordered the lobster roll with chips which was on the specials menu for $30 dollars which I felt was a bit overpriced for the amount but it was real lobster. There is plenty of parking and they have a great rewards program. I would also like to state I forgot my reading glasses and they did have them at the front desk when I called. This is another great location of Tavern in the Square. It's always busy here so I'd definitely recommend making a reservation but I had no trouble finding a time that worked for me. We were say immediately and our waitress, Kaylee, came out promptly. She was very sweet and made sure we had a pleasant experience the whole time we were at the restaurant. I had the general tso's chicken which was perfectly crunchy and a little spicy. I've always enjoyed the bang bang broccoli and this was no different tonight either. I would have preferred my rice to be a little bit more coconutty but it was also very good overall. If you like Tavern in the Square I can definitely recommend this location! read more

I'm not much of a chain restaurant person, but small local chains are not always so bad, right? We had a great waitress (Kailey). They always have a great variety of beers on draft! Our go to's are always Maine Lunch, Be Hoppy, and Wachusett Blueberry. Always on draft!! Yay! We had the wings with different sauces.. so good!! We made a reservation so we didn't have to wait very long and our server was very accommodating when I decided to remix the menu a little bit and add steak to my breakfast plate because I don't eat pork. Overall, good experience there was some miscommunication about flavor, shots, to add flavor to a regular cup of coffee versus receiving an actual shot of alcohol. Not going to lie, I wasn't expecting it, but it was a pleasant surprise and probably better than just a non-alcoholic coffee. I did have two espresso martinis which were amazing and definitely contributed to me enjoying the overall experience. I came here with friends, because we wanted to meet midway between Brockton and Providence and this was a pretty good compromise. I enjoy Tavern in the Square. Ive been to their locations in Allston and Cranston and enjoyed the food and vibes. Fiance and I came here on a Friday night. Place was PACKED! Parking was not hard to find considering the plaza they're situated in, majority of businesses were either already closed or close to being closed as it was 7 PM. We put our name down for a table of 2 and it was about a 45 min wait, however, it was only a 15 minute wait. For drinks, I ordered the mango margarita and fiance ordered the talk tiki to me. Came out pretty quick, about 5 minutes or so. we placed our food orders, he got the buffalo chicken and bacon mac and cheese and i ordered the tavern burger with bacon and a side of sweet potato fries. our waitress was extremely attentive and so sweet. will definitely be back! read more

I called in takeout because the app didn't let me apply a free offer. I got there and the order wasn't in the system like she thought but it wasn't a big deal. Her and the manager apologized and I didn't mind. I walked around a bit and checked out the patio then the food was ready a couple minutes later and he insisted on giving me a gift card which was very kind of him. There were a few hostess and they were all helping each other and trying hard. Sometimes you go places and everyone is on their phone but not here. The siracha honey boneless cornflake chicken was great but MAN is it spicy. I thought it would be more sweet but it is a stick hot hot hot. It was good but not for those that can't tolerate. The waitress let us know it's what they use on the Nashville hot, and that she would rank it hottest is the siracha then the buffalo then the bang bang. A total miss tonight! Medium rare cheese burger comes out as a well done burger with no cheese. They throw a slice of cheese on it and send it out, still well done and now cold. The pasta dish was so spicy I was unable to eat more than a few bites. They offered to remake it and I refused the offer my mouth was on fire. They took the dish away and offered a desert. No thanks. We arrived with no reservations and we're told it would be a 30 minute wait. Our party of 4 was seated within 20 minutes. Adam, our server was attentive. The place was very busy. Adam's service was a little slow, but it was not a problem as our appetizer arrived and we were busy with the nachos and enjoying each other's company. The nachos were good.. they would have been better if they had more cheese, but they did the trick. Adam took our orders. Two of us ordered fish and chips. (Mine was ordered gluten free--unheard of in most restaurants). My wife had the Mac and cheese (she asked for it with no crumbs on top which is how she likes it). Our friend ordered General Tso chicken. It was a while before our dinners arrived, but they were hot and what we had asked for. Our friend said the General Tso chicken was spicer (hot) than he thought it would be, but said the flavors were good. Everyone else was very happy with their meals. The fish and chips was excellent. I made sure t check with the staff that it was gluten free. It was amazing. Best I've had even counting before I knew I needed to be gluten free. The food was excellent. We are older than most of the crowd there that night. If I had any complaint, it would be that the atmosphere was very noisy, but that is true of most of the newer places today. For us, we would prefer a little quieter atmosphere to enjoy our meals. I would love to eat there again, probably not on a weekend evening. Maybe that would be a little quieter and service might be a bit faster. read more
