An amazing restaurant with great staff, food is absolutely delicious most definitely will be back!

We have been ordering take out all week from here because it's so close to our hotel. Here's the deal...burgers have been great. Fries and tots delicious. However, the wild rice bowls are pricey for the amount of food you get. $15+ for a cup and half of rice AND chicken is a little outrageous. Service was spotty on different days. read more

We hosted an event here during a conference and I can't recommend them enough for your event needs. They have a great outdoor patio space, where we are fit around 150 people. The service was spectacular for such a large group. Very friendly and attentive. The drinks were strong & the appetizers - loved the cheese curds & toasted raviolis! The food is very good. I had the fried catfish sandwich. Large portion, well seasoned, yummy cornmeal crust. The service is terrible though. Chaotic, disorganized, and glacially slowwwwww!! Westy's is a lifesaver! If you are out late and needs some food, Westy's is your place. Their menu has variety and my sister loves their drinks. Service always sweet, not the fastest, but the servers are always kind. The atmosphere gives me the feels of an Irish Pub. We sat down and after ten minutes a water finally arrived to take our drink order. This was in the middle of a Tuesday afternoon. There were no other patrons in the restaurant. Another ten minutes went by and two other groups of people sat down and were served their drinks. We had still not been brought our drinks. We were very disappointed and decided that this restaurant was pathetic and not worth the time. I strongly dissuade anyone from dining at this place and be humiliated like our party of four people were. Piss poor service. I'll never be back to this joke of a restaurant. read more

I sat at the bar for lunch. Bartender could not have been nicer. Wasn't sure if I should get a bowl of Gumbo or the Jambalaya. He recommended the Jambalaya. It was fantastic. They brought out a sweet bread with the jambalaya. Very good! Stop in you won't be disappointed. read more

Although certain food is not stated always ask the server to talk to the chef. I was able to get sautéed veggies, wild rice, and fries. The server was very helpful and tried hard to accommodate me. I was ordering from the Peabody on this thanksgiving eve. Had been traveling from 3-10. The restaurant in the hotel just closed. Nothing else around open. I am fortunate to get to have a $75 voucher to use for thanksgiving. I called and ordered straight from their menu. What a jerk on the phone. First he said unless I had a large order they would not deliver. I said. I have a large order as I planned to use the entire $75. After I ordered, which should have been $60 ish, he said $90!!!!! He was up charging me 1/3 of the cost. He said the ribeye was $40. Liar. He said that the price changes at the end of the order. What a JERK! Do not order here. I will stick with other my tuna packets and fruit snacks for dessert. read more

A group from my church was in town for a convention. One night after service a group of us walked to Westy's from the Renaissance Center (beware walking at night, it's a little sketchy but we were fine). The place was jamb-packed & being small inside, it was pretty tight. Everyone was very friendly & our waitress was a delight. The decor is very eclectic & definitely fit the scene. I tend to often share with my husband &/or daughter as I can't eat much. She got a plain burger & he got the bacon burger, fries with both. They asked how we wanted it cooked and we said well done however it was a little too done because around the edges appeared burnt, so definitely watch out for that. With that being said, despite the burnt edges, the burger was actually one of the best burgers I have ever had and I've had many burgers at many different places. We didn't try famous fudge pie but wanted to go back and try it we just never got around to doing it. The others in our party had chicken tenders and a club sandwich and they also said it was very good some other people from our church went a total of three times while they were there they loved it so much so Westy's is definitely recommend and we will definitely go back if we're ever in Memphis again. read more

We had a pretty rough (but forgivable) service experience, and the food was bland and unremarkable. Not somewhere I'll need to visit again.

Came here for lunch (Sept 25) w/coworkers and let's just say it was less than stellar. We placed to-go orders over the phone and was told that it would take 20-25 mins (1210). OK, great. So we arrived at 1230 and we did not receive our food until 105! It should not have taken that long to fry fish and wings. Not to mention the wings WERE NOT the flavor that was ordered and the fish was very salty. We gave this place a 2nd try and its very doubtful that we'll be back. They have terrible timing with to-go orders and mediocre food to boot. read more

What a hidden gem, although they have been around for some decades. The stuffed burger with pepper Jack and bacon was delicious. The wild rice bowl was done very well and flavorful. Hubs got the Smokey melt and tots and everything was epic! And the price was so reasonable. Will definitely be back more often! read more

First time opinion..it's a cool spot for late night dining. I'd never heard of this place, but stumbled upon it through Google. I was happy to hear their kitchen remained open until 3AM. Started off with the "Westy's Queso & Rotel dip" and it was delicious. Exactly as described and exactly as I expected..rotel with Queso dip added lol. Still good Had the chicken tender basket with fries. All pretty basic options so I can't really name anything that stuck out. Their menu was extensive and the next time I come I'll definitely try something with more of a bang. Their pineapple juice was really good! My server was awesome, really nice young lady who made sure the late night experience was pleasant even though she was the only server I saw on the floor and taking to go orders. All in all it's a cool spot and I'll be back to explore more. read more

We had been here our last trip to Memphis and loved the wild rice dish so we decided to come back this trip. We walk In and it was packed (we expected that and a wait ) We walked to the back the only spot there was room to stand . A server told us she would help us get a table as soon as she could. Another gentleman came out of the back saw us waiting and said it's gonna be a while ,very rudely ! So we kept standing there and he kept looking at us and said go back to the front and wait. The food was nothing like reviews on multiple pages described. I got the chicken and dumplings and had a HUGE chunk of dumpling that was uncooked in the middle. No other dumplings, just that one. It was also very bland. My boyfriend got the gator gumbo which was also bland and the gator was extremely overcooked and chewy. Would not recommend this place. Overpriced and definitely not worth it. It may depend on which server you get, but if you get a certain one you gotta be prepared to carve three hours out for this misadventure: two hours to wait for your food (this is also on the kitchen for not keeping track of which tickets are put in first), twenty minutes to eat, and forty minutes to get your check processed, with nothing comped. read more

This is a dope spot! The menu is insane from cereal to steak. There is an option for everybody that comes in. I love the rice bowls at Westys. You can't go wrong with those. I ordered online using Uber for lunch and the order was canceled. I waited until Westys website ordering was open and ordered for dinner. I waited past the promised delivery time. I called the restaurant and was told their website is down. I asked if I could tell them my order and still have it delivered since the food was for my daughter who is a St Jude patient and we didn't have a car.They said they didn't have a delivery driver available. I was charged on my credit card. Update - I received an email asking how my food was after posting this review. We recently returned for a long overdue visit to Memphis having moved away in the early 90's. On my list of "MUST DOs" was a meal and DESSERT at The North End (A.K.A. Westy's)!! OH MY .... It was as good as I remembered. The food and service were both incredible. I can highly recommend Westy's Jambalaya. Of course you MUST save room for the world famous HOT FUDGE PIE!!!!!! I was incredibly happy to spend some time with owner, Jake Schorr.... Jack has been a huge supporter of Memphis for SO MANY years and also knows how to please his customers! While in Memphis - had to get some creole - and the recommended place - Westy's. Just a short distance from the Pyramid, it was decided it was a great place to get lunch. Very disappointed with my meal here. This is just not great. It's okay... I guess but I definitely wouldn't recommend it. I found that my dish was quite flavorless. I ordered the Broccoli Alfredo which I was hoping for a nice flavor for creamy sauce however what I got was quite watery and really had no flavor at all. The broccoli was very clearly frozen and was not cooked well at all. My meal came with delicious breadsticks, which were by far the best thing that we received. And my meal was supposed to come with a side salad however it did not so I'm kind of annoyed about that because I would have been able to eat that instead of this flavorless pasta. My husband and I also ordered an appetizer the toasted ravioli which was not a bad appetizer to share BUT The ravioli is stuffed with meat of some sort, I am assuming beef but I am not positive. However it does not indicate this on the menu in anyway. So I was not expecting that and we would not have ordered it had we known it was stuffed with meat. Most of the time toasted ravioli is stuffed with cheese or sometimes it has nothing in it. My husband ate his full meal however he also said that it was not that great. I definitely would not order from here if you are used to good food. My husband and I are both from South Louisiana and if you know anything about Louisiana the food is amazing and I just have to say that this restaurant was not what we were looking for. read more
