Hard to miss this corner establishment close to the convention center.looks like this place has been here for 41 years Place is clean and laid back. I was seated quickly. Ordered a bowl of seafood gumbo, 13.50$. It's was ok. Tasted more like dark tomato bisque with rice. Plenty of shrimps.

This was the first restaurant I tried in Memphis, and it surprised me a lot. They were quick to take our order and also to bring it to us. I tried the wild rice bowl with marinated chicken. It was amazing. The rice was delicious and the chicken juicy and well seasoned. I also ordered one local IPA beer, the Soul & Spirits Hoochie Coochie. It was perfect! The food came with bread that was warm was very tasty. The only thing I didn't like a lot was that it was leaking from the ceiling. Besides that, the food was great!

I think the rating is accurate. This was a late night food option available and suggested by the hotel front desk person. I ordered delivery online from their website. The website pic is not a good reflection of what the boom boom shrimp looks like. The sauce was all good, but I expected something different.

I have supported this business for nearly 23 years. It's always been a favorite when I come into town. As a matter fact, it is normally my first destination. But tonight upset and disappointed me beyond words. I placed an order approximately 20 minutes before getting out of church. I figured that was enough time to wait out the order being prepared and being able to grab it to go. When I arrived at First, the man told me he had no order for me at all. I produced a receipt with a fully paid order only for him to tell me that he had rejected my order. One of the items on my order was the Philly egg rolls and because they were out of one appetizer item he canceled my entire dinner order for my family. He had every opportunity to make my order and get me moving, but he informed me that I would be put into the regular line with everyone else and have at least approximately 20 minutes to wait. The customer service tonight was more than abysmal. I would be decided to say that I may not eat there again in the future. But I definitely will be very careful about referring others because if this is a level of service, they can expect I would not want to feel responsible for their experience. I was also disappointed because he informed me that he attempted to call. But I also attempted to call them four times prior to leaving the parking lot of the church just to verify that they have my order. And they had their phone off the hook.

This is a cool spot to get a bite to eat! I stop in before an event I was attending and they took care of our to go orders pretty quickly. I had the fried green tomatoes and fried fish. It was really good and filling. I am glad that I came across this eatery and I look forward to going back.

This is my first time in Memphis, and this was my first restaurant in Memphis. So far, I'm not impressed. I came here because it is close to the hotel, serves fish, and I don't have a car. Let me just warn you that the neighborhood is a bit rough looking. There's a lot of construction going on, but it generally just looks creepy and deserted. But anyway, back to the restaurant. My server, Barbara, was pleasant. She tended to me immediately, took my order and checked on me. I ordered the grilled salmon with the side salad and fries. She brought the salad first, but it had cheese on it so I told her I don't eat dairy or egg. So she took it back. When she returned, it was the same salad, but appeared as though someone had handpicked the cheese off. You can still see small pieces of cheese on the salad in the photo. Clearly, this establishment does not take food restrictions seriously. But also, did someone put their dirty, unwashed hands in my salad??? Lord I hope not. But I'll never know... The salad was fine. I had it with Italian dressing. But the more I ate it, the more I imagine eating tiny drops of Covid particles from someone's unwashed hands. So I had to stop and let that go. The salmon wasn't grilled. It was more pan seared. It was under seasoned but definitely edible. The fries were great but it was a small amount. I didn't want the rice, but it was actually the most flavorful part of the meal! I didn't eat the random tomato on the plate because it had cheese on it... The power went out in the whole establishment for about 10 seconds. Needless to say, I won't be back.

Do they serve Pitchers of beer?

The few times I have been there I haven't seen anyone with pitchers nor have I seen any pitchers around the bar area. You can call up there to verify though.

The food however was honestly meh (in my opinion). I got a creole dish and to be fair my dish looked beautiful. The plating was 10/10 but the taste for me left something to be desired. After eating this dish I questioned if I even like creole sauce because it really just wasn't that good. If this is a preference issue, I honestly don't know. I also thought the charcuterie appetizer had a weird mix of items on it from club crackers, to meat and cheese, and random veggies. Not bad but just kind of a weird mix. My husband ordered the salmon and he said it was good, not the best he's had but it was good. Other friends of ours got the white fish among the many other dishes. I did have a salad with these apples on it which was incredibly yummy. I will say though my dish looked amazing some of the other dishes were not plated well. Not to nitpick but to want to be considered a more upscale restaurant which means charging guest more money than say a local Applebee's then knowing how to appropriately garnish or drizzle sauce to elevate at plate is important (see my picture of the chicken dish). All and all not my favorite restaurant but definitely not the worst!!

A Perfect Birthday & Valentine's Weekend Dinner!…read more We visited Majestic Grille on Friday, February 13th, and wow--are we glad we found this gem! We're from out of town and decided to celebrate my birthday and Valentine's weekend in Memphis. Our original restaurant choices were fully booked (I'd been on waitlists for weeks!), so we canceled those plans and got a list of recommendations from a museum we visited earlier that day. That's when Majestic Grill caught my eye--just a few minutes from our downtown hotel. We called ahead to check availability since most places were packed for Valentine's weekend. A wonderful gentleman answered and assured us he could get us a table. When we arrived, we were seated immediately--such a pleasant surprise! From there, everything was exceptional. Our server, Macy, was FANTASTIC! My partner doesn't drink, and she offered to have a mocktail made for him, while I enjoyed the "Clover Club"--perfectly crafted and delicious. Great start! We shared the Charcuterie Board as an appetizer, and it was so good that we finished every bite. For our entrées, we both ordered the 16 oz ribeye--mine with a blue cheese crust and his with peppercorn. Both were cooked to absolute perfection, and the sides were just as amazing. The atmosphere was top-tier--the lighting and ambiance made the experience even more special. Coupled with outstanding service, this was truly a memorable dining experience. We'll definitely be back--probably for every birthday going forward! Thank you, Majestic Grill, for making our weekend unforgettable!

I've gone to The Majestic Grille a number of times across the year (surprised I hadn't reviewed it…read moreby now) and one thing they are is consistent. It's just that it's consistently average. I love the ambiance and the vibe of the place; it's pretty neat how it used to be a theatre, and they have kept presence of that history in the place. Beyond that, there's very little that pushes me to really want to go to this place, while at the same time acknowledging that I don't find myself being negative if a friend or someone else picks here. The food is decent, the service is really hit or miss, and I've always found them to be quite slow ... so it just hits average for me. Not something I'm picking but not something I'm dreading if it is picked.

This time I tried the brunch menu and had, to name a few: *Poutine *French Canadian Toast *Maple Sunrise Sandwhich *Boozy Fried Bread Pudding *Eggs Benedict All of these were delicious. Small detail, but the crispy breakfast potatoes are perfect- soft on the inside and with this immaculate crisp on the outside. Next time I will certainly be getting the Waffle Monte Cristo. I love waffles.. I love Monte Cristo sandwiches.. seems like an ideal combo. A few friends and I have been in a few times now and this past trip he took us around the city. Again, I cannot say enough incredible things about he and his restaurant. Kooky even has food challenges: a 7 lb burger, a two-person 15 lb burger, and a four-person massive 25 lb burger! I've done the 25 lber and they were able to cook that burger so perfectly! Most places would undoubtedly have had the middle undercooked. Side note: Shawn has also won the "Tennessee Restaurateur of the Year" award. Yeah, he's legit. Go here. Do it. Do not deprive yourself from greatness.

Overall it was a bit of a mixed bag, but ultimately it was mostly a good experience. The room was nice - open space, dimly lit, enough for a cool spot for a date night. Our waitress was also the hostess - not sure if they were understaffed or that's just how it goes there. But for the most part she was fine. Had a bit of a "whatever" attitude but was nice. There were times where we couldn't track her down so we needed to ask other staff for things. The main "negative" aspect of our night (to jump ahead a bit) was when we got the check. It was noticeably more expensive than expected. I typically do a good job having a roundabout idea of what we're spending when we order, so I knew something was up. It wasn't until after we asked for an itemized copy of the receipt (that we had to ask someone else for), that we saw that she included gratuity in the total without saying anything about it. I'm glad I noticed because I could have easily given double gratuity without even knowing I was doing so. I was a bit frustrated with that aspect of the experience. The food was mostly good. We ordered the bbq shrimp as an appetizer - their creole bbq sauce was AMAZING! I couldn't get enough. I got their smash burger as an entree. Not the best burger I've ever had but it was definitely pretty good. My wife got the bolognese which had absolutely too much pepper. It was mostly all you could taste in each bite. All in all, it was a decent experience. I think I'll head back the next time I'm in the area for some more bbq shrimp... maybe get a couple orders to go :)

The drinks were fine, in the same way gas station coffee is "fine" when you're desperate. No water unless you ask (apparently hydration is an upgrade), and the bartender gave us about as much info on the menu as a Magic 8 Ball. I brought my wife here to impress her -- turns out, I just impressed her with how bad I am at picking places. Four drinks and some wings cost $114, and the best part? Gratuity was already included. Love a place that rewards itself for mediocre effort. If you've got literally any other option -- vending machine, food truck, pretzel stand at the concert -- take it.

I asked the server about it and the bartender quickly rectified the situation and added 3 green olives. My friend that ordered the prosecco thought it was fine. However, the friend that ordered the espresso martini was shocked by the presentation. First it was creamy white in color and the flavor was not quite right. It had an odd twang and not at all reminiscent of a typical espresso martini. My friends ordered the breakfast Mexican pizza and were pleased overall.
