    Surf & Turf flight

Hmm where do I start?? I've been to Flight twice now. Both times were great! This time we were seated upstairs overlooking the restaurant. I was quite pleased with our seats. This place is prefect for a date. double date, celebrations, or just because. Starting with the spicy margarita, it's delish and ask for fresh jalapeño in it if you're a little spicy like me ;) We had the seafood flight appetizer... the ravioli was so creamy and yummy, the crab cake was good and the bbq shrimp also tasty. Now I am NOT a fan of deviled eggs, but this was THE BEST version I've ever tasted. The bacon marmalade that they topped it with is just *** definitely try an order! I honestly wanted my own! That's how good they were! From there was the soup flight: lobster bisque, white cheddar poblano, and gumbo. I have a hard time deciding which was my favorite! The Surf and turf flight (chef's menu) was also a hit! The lobster meat was perfection, the meat was tasty and there was this sweet pepper marmalade that was *chefs kiss* The dessert was good. By this time, I'm stuffed so, I only had a few bites here and there. The blueberry pastry was tasty, crème brûlée is decent. The peanut butter pie was ok, I'd personally like a sweeter peanut butter like jiffy. The blondie was probably my favorite of the desserts I tried. Our previous dessert flight was an absolute hit, try the Southern flight! Gary was our waiter for the evening and he was great! We'll be back.

10 out of 10 if you are in Memphis, you need to stop here. sat at the bar had amazing service. The concept here is so different. One of the things that's stuck out the most was the coconut sorbet. I have never had anything so delicious in my life.

10/10 PHENOMENAL dining experience! My first time visiting Memphis and Flights was my first and last dinner in the city. Cool concept of flights entree so you can try various dishes without full orders of everything. Prices are very reasonable, service was excellent and the decor is nice. I can't wait to return just to eat here again. The trio of seafood dishes was splendid, crème brulee was the best I've ever had, and don't skip the whiskey flight! Come with friends and come hungry!

First time dining at flight for my best friend's graduation dinner. First impression, it's a small restaurant. We had a reservation for 2 and they sat us at the smallest table right at the entrance. Now again it's small in there and with it being "cold" it was uncomfortable. However, the food the really good. Our waiter was really nice, knowledgeable of the menu and attentive. Loved that you can mix and match the options for the flight. That wagyu steak was soooooo goood!! Didn't really care for dessert.Overall, I would recommend this place and I would go back!

Flight Restaurant and Wine Bar had been on my list for a while, so we finally ventured out for a good time. Flight is featured on OpenTable's Top 100 Restaurants list, thanks to its unique "flight" dining concept. I recommend making a reservation in advance, either by phone or through OpenTable. The restaurant offers complimentary valet service, though there is also plenty of street parking available (it can get busy on weekends). Upon entering, the hostess stand is on the left. The bar is small but inviting, with about ~8 seats (from what I recall). The main-floor dining area tends to accommodate friends and business groups, while the second floor offers a more private setting ideal for date nights. The overall ambiance is relaxed and unpretentious. FOOD: 1. Deviled Eggs and Crispy Oysters (5/5): This was delicious. The dish comes with four pieces, perfect for sharing between two people. The crispy cornmeal-fried oyster complemented, rather than overshadowed, the deviled egg. 2. Beef Wellingtons (3/5): Four pieces, each resembling a small puff filled with a quarter-sized portion of beef. The standout element was the brandy cream sauce. 3. Seafood Flight (Shrimp and Grits, Lobster/Crab Benedict, Diver Sea Scallop): *Shrimp and Grits (3/5): Decent, but didn't stand out. *Lobster/Crab Benedict (4/5): My favorite of the three. The perfectly poached egg, bacon hollandaise, and soft cheddar biscuit were excellent. *Diver Sea Scallop (4/5): I enjoyed it overall, though the sauce became overly sweet over time due to the brown sugar bacon and maple. It features one scallop served with flavorful butternut squash. 4. Steak Flight (Boursin Filet, Wagyu, Elk Chop): *Elk Chop (5/5): A standout. The truffle white cheddar macaroni was excellent, and the Kahlua glaze paired beautifully with the perfectly cooked elk. 5. Chef Dessert Flight (Blueberry Cobbler, S'mores, White Chocolate Caramel Blondie): *S'mores (4/5): Rich and chocolate-forward, but the melted marshmallow tied everything together nicely. My second favorite. *Blueberry Cobbler (4/5): I'm not usually a cobbler fan, but this one was genuinely good. *White Chocolate Caramel Blondie (4/5): My top favorite of the three. 6. Coffee Flight (Sweet Cream, Hazelnut, Baileys): *Sweet Cream (1/5): The first sip hit like a sugar crash; we didn't enjoy it. *Hazelnut (4/5): The closest to a true coffee profile, with a pleasant hazelnut note. *Baileys (3/5): Reliable, but the proportions were off - too sweet for the amount of coffee. Our server was excellent. Our drinks were always refilled before empty, and the food arrived promptly. He also shared thoughtful recommendations. Would I return? Absolutely.

Everything about this experience was lovely. It was a great spot to celebrate a belated Valentine's Day. The service was top tier. Our server, Jordan, was prompt, helpful, and explained how to build your custom flights. All of the food was exceptional. We enjoyed being able to customize each element. Our drinks were also very good, and the bar was quick to get the drinks to us. The restaurant was clean, and set with roses and candles. It made our dining experience feel intimate. At the end of our meal our server took a photo of us and called valet to make sure our car was ready when we finished. Overall, great spot and would go again.

Amazing! First the complimentary valet is so helpful for parking. Our waiter was very attentive but not so attentive where it was annoying. We started with appetizers the deviled eggs and beef Wellington. Amazing- so much flavor and everything was cooked to perfection There was 4 of us so we each got a different flight. There were no complaints. The flavors were on point and the portions were decent size! The dessert flight also was a hit. Would 1000% go again!

On New Year's Day we were greeted promptly by valet and warmly at reception. We were seated in the wine cellar, which was a unique experience in and of itself; we were told it was an old speak easy, and it definitely fit the bill. It was much quieter than the main dining room, though it had some stairs (and you had to go outside to get to it), so it might not be a good fit for some. Service was impeccable from start to finish. Upon learning it was our anniversary, we were offered complimentary champagne. We started off with the Ocean Flight. The crab cake turned out to be the night's favorite for both of us and probably the best crab cake of my life. The lobster ravioli was also delicious with a rich sauce accompanying it. The BBQ shrimp, however, was not good. We left it nearly untouched as it had a unique, metallic tasty that I can't describe, other than to say we were both an immediate "absolutely not" at the first bite. For dinner, I enjoyed the fish flight. I should note the selections were different than those posted on the online menu and included salmon, sea bass and grouper. Each was delicious, but the pistachio encrusted sea bass was the overall favorite. Hubs had the steak flight, with selections also differing from the menu. His elk tenderloin was superb(!), as was the accompanying truffle mac 'n cheese, but the wagyu tenderloin left a lot to be desired; it was grossly undercooked, even for wagyu, (barely rare) and fatty--not marbled, as wagyu is intended to be, more like roast beef. That was disappointing as my husband loves Wagyu and it was the selling point for the flight. I love that they make recommendations for the accompanying wine flights, but we selected something different based on our own preferences. We paired the fish flight with the crème de la crème wine flight and paired the steak flight with wonders of the world wine flight. Despite not eating the shrimp of wagyu, we had plenty of food and felt the price was appropriate for the dinner--around $250, including gratuity, given the service, atmosphere and quality of the food.

Wowza. I can't say enough amazing things about this place! The service - INCREDIBLE! He explained everything wonderfully and a couple of times as well. There was a hiccup with sides we ordered but he remedied that very quickly and was extremely attentive. And the food - holy cow the food. Everything tasted so good and was cooked to perfection. If we ever come back to the Memphis area this is a must visit!

One of the coolest restaurants I've been to. You can choose any meat you want and turn it into a flight, mixing and matching pork, beef, or fish. The soup and salad flights were amazing too -- you could easily just get those and leave without spending much. Great value for the amount and quality of food. The service was wonderful, and the ambiance was perfect.

What a wonderful experience. We didn't have a reservation and they were able to squeeze us in. Reservations definitely suggested but we were here on a spur of the moment trip. I had a flight of salad, my husband had escargot (a special). Then we each only had two of the small plate entrees rather than a flight of 3. He had the sea bass and the veal (his fav of the two). I had the filet and the Benedict both were good. And we shared two desserts. The white chocolate blonde and lava cake with peppermint gelato which was the star of the show. Our server Nautica was fantastic. And all the staff was welcoming and accommodating. Definitely recommend and would go back to try more things.

My drink with the restaurant in the background. Drinks here are excellent too.

Truly an incredible experience! You CANNOT visit Memphis without eating here! Do the tapas style and order a bunch of different items - they're all delish. Trust me! My favorite - the duck!! If you like duck make sure you try this. The homemade desserts are delicious here too. The seafood eggrolls to start may be some of the best I've ever had. **Please follow me on Instagram & TikTok @NickEatzWorld and check out all my reviews and travel recommendations**

Memphis Fine Dining at it's best... Wife took me for my birthday and anytime my 15 year old eats all his food, youre doing something right. We didnt even get apps, wife got seafood flight (superb), I got lamb chops and kid got ribeye. Birthday creme brulee and Chocolate Lava Cake were good as well. We got there about 15 minutes early and they were able to accomodate us with a pleasant table.

Flight Restaurant and Wine Bar Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Flight Restaurant and Wine Bar

    Is there a kid menu?

Not sure. But this is a quite upscale place, so I would not think they do. ....just looked at menu online, there is no kids menu...except for maybe French fries or a veggie.

How much would u spend on two well behaved toddlers and two adults at this restaurant?

It's got a romantic patio, so I'd get a babysitter and enjoy a break! If not a stressful $100-130 evening.

What is your dress code? Coming from out if state.

People were not in jeans but nice sportswear to almost dressy was fine. I was there a week aho. Btw, portions are big. Perhaps share an entree flight?

I want to buy a couple a gift card for Flight. What is a good amount to get for two? Thanks in advance!

I'd say at least $100. The food flights are roughly $40/each, so $100 should cover food + tip. If you want to also cover some alcohol, I'd consider $150.

Can you mix & match your own flight of dinner?

    Yes!

    Is it loud?

The main dining room can get a bit boisterous but the wine cellar is nice and quite.

    What is the Attire?

I don't think they'd turn you away, whatever. Elastic waist is my suggestion! My waiter said "I'm gonna do my best to not tell ya no". Delicious food & drink, run, don't walk, but waddle away 😆.

    How is the parking?

    Free valet

She carried this review up to the 3 I'm giving Non-Vintage. First of all, there was a severe deficiency of seating and staff for this event. No one greeted us when we entered, we moved chairs ourselves to make an accommodating space out of the way of the performers, and at no point did a member of staff take our order outside of waiting at the bar. The line for the bar was right in the way of the performers, and many people were forced to wait 10+ minutes for a drink order because there was only one bartender working. Another staff member had offered to help, and the bartender DECLINED, forcing us to continue to wait. I did try the wings and the charcuterie, they were good. I tried the nonalcoholic hibiscus drink and the nonalcoholic summer cooler drink. The summer cooler was much better in my opinion, but both were good nonalcoholic options. I think I would like to try this place when they are not hosting an event, I'm sure it's lovely when they are staffed appropriately for the shift. However, I was sorely disappointed tonight being forced to wait nearly an hour at the bar, missing parts of the show and on my feet for just a drink.
