In a nutshell, Wegmans really wants to discourage you from eating at the cafe. Made the mistake of having the hot bar.. The hot bar, what essentially amounted to a gas station Chinese buffet of 6 oversalted items; and if you wanted a cup of ice water, you must go to the 2nd floor dining area. This disaster of a meal ended up costing $77 (that's 77 dollars) for two plastic To-Go containers of subpar fast food glup.. According to the cashier, who seemed quite embarrassed by this, the hot bar is now $16/lb... which is NOT clearly posted. Obviously, this is on the Do Not Return list now. Next time we'll opt for an actual restaurant where $77 gets you better food, brought to your table. read more

We just left Whole foods and my boyfriend wanted something to eat so we hit up the hot bar in Wegmans. I loved the variety of foods and beverages they offered at this location. This one won me over with my favorite Indian dish, butter chicken! I'm excited to try the sparkling coconut water with pineapple I purchased. The dining area is nice and cozy. My usual deli sandwich place doubled it's prices using the old supply chain excuse. Perturbed, I went to Wegmans because I heard they made sandwiches. I have to say that was a super great decision. I ordered "Dannie's Favorite" with everything and it was so good that my taste buds danced with every bite. The price was right and the sandwich was BIG. Wegmans is my new favorite deli. read more

A nice store. Very large but segmented by a few walls to make it seem less "boxy". The prepared foods look fabulous but I've only had the sushi rolls. The store is very very crowded in Saturday's. The lines can be long and even the 15 items or fewer lines were too. They have some cool smaller carts which I like much more than the huge ones. They do have some nice pork shoulders at a great price. I bought an orchid there and it's still looking good. I wish there was a Wegmans in Annapolis! read more

I really don't understand the hype about this place. The parking lot is ALWAYS congested, the inside is convoluted, and the pricing is outrageous. Today I went in to purchase seafood, shrimp, or chicken salad. I never found where the chicken salad was, but discovered some seriously overpriced shrimp salad and lobster salad. These salads came in such small containers, I would have had to purchase 3 of each to get full, which would have clocked in at about $24-$30. Insane. I ended up with what they labeled the "Neptune salad" as it was cheap and buying 2 containers of it wouldn't equal a restaurant meal. I figured it's main ingredient is fake crab meat, which I've had before and it's not killed me yet. I've since eaten it and it's sitting in my stomach like a brick. I didn't need this experience to continue steering clear of Wegman's. read more

Wegmans is my favorite supermarket for so many reasons!, selection! Selection ! Selection!!!!! It's so much to Choose from from prepared food to frozen and everything in between. It's areas designated for one to make Charcuterie, fresh olive bar, tons of prepared meal options. I love the open concept as you shop you can see bakers preparing baked good, sushi chefs making fresh items , even ready to eat meals such as pizza , sandwiches, coffee and salads . It's price points are extremely affordable. The store is always clean. They have a lounge / dinning area upstairs for customers. I love the cart escalator it tickles me.. idk why I love that so much . Tons of parking ! The staff are very friendly! They will stop what they are doing if you look perplexed and ask if you need help . One day my baby girl wanted a particular cooked sushi and there was no more left . The chefs asked which one I was looking for and it was their closing time! Keep in mind ... I told her she then proceeded to make the sushi roll for my baby girl! I thanked her and once I was done shopping I went to give a formal compliment to the store manager in writing! She truly went above and beyond to make us happy ! The aisle are cohesive as you shop the order of things makes sense , so my flow of shopping is with ease . I noticed hand hygiene stations in many many areas as well actually sinks for hand washing . I know this may sound small To most but they have paper towels in the bathroom. It means a lot to me because it's the only way I can be assured that staff is not recontaminating their hands by turning off facets and opening doors with bare hands. Customers as well! I come here few times a week. The last few visits I received poor customer service, but tonight was the worst. I try to order few subs from the sub shop and the employees did not make an effort to help me, then the told me to get in the back of the line. I spoke to the manager, but he was defensive and non apologetic. His only solution was to offer me a free sub, but I declined the offer. After that, I just went to Jason's deli and paid less for a better sub. I did my grocery shopping at Harris Teeter and save more money than doing my grocery shopping at Wegmas. I thing you get more for the money at Harris Teeter, Balducci's and Whole foods market. This 3 supermarkets have outstanding customer service. In conclusion Wegmans charges premium prices, in return for average product and poor customer service. read more

I'm such a big fan of Wegman's. You can find almost anything and items you didn't know you needed. I love the fresh produce, hard to find items like turmeric, the huge variety of apples I never heard of. It's also a great idea if you're juicing to come here for great looking kale, spinach and other greens. If anyone in your family had food allergies, you can find tasty meal/snack items for them as well. I'm grabbing a bag of Irish Soda Bread and can't wait to try this with my coffee. This store rocks and the staff is always so pleasant. There's never anytime when I don't see someone working to get customers what they need. I'm getting hungry so I must go... This wegmans location is great! Even in the beginning of the week, most often, things have been restocked from the weekend. The options for new healthy snacks are endless, the produce is plentiful and beautiful, and things are always clean and organized. I really appreciate the plethora of self check-out registers. NOT ONCE have I had to wait. My chief complaint would be the single entry-exit. It's a pain in the rump and often time people struggle to make their turn into the parking garage. Additionally, dummies rarely yield to pedestrians in the cross walk. read more

Great supermarket. Wegmans is ... honestly ... one of my wife's all-time favorite places to just be. It's "fun." I don't get that, but I'm not her. She does most of our food shopping and she often goes a little out of her way just to go to Wegmans. Their selection and the freshness of everything they sell is wonderful. They have aisles upon aisles of specialty stuff: foreign/international, special diets, etc. Fruit and vegetable area is huge. Meat area is huge. Bakery is huge. Deli is huge. You get the picture. We've hosted family Thanksgivings for several years and instead of making everything ourselves we pre-order turkey(s) and all of the associated stuff (usually numerous packages and extras from which to choose) and pick it all up that morning. And it all tastes great. They also have an eat-in area. Ginormous selection of foods from all over, meats, salads, fruits, and on and on. Fill up a container and pay by weight. And then go upstairs and find a comfortable table with a view of the entire downstairs and people-watch (another thing my wife does). I don't think you can go wrong at Wegmans. This company also annually makes Fortune Magazine's Top 100 Companies To Work For list. When she retires she wants to work there part-time. Seriously. read more

I love love love Wegmans! You have to be very careful when going there for lunch or dinner because all of their food on the hot bar looks delicious. It's very tempting because there are so many options from Asian, Carribean, Indian, American food to choose from. They do measure everything and it adds up very quickly. This Wegmans is very clean, they have plenty of staff working on the floor and at the check out, they keep the hot bar and salad bar well stocked, they have all the condiments and utensils ready for you as you check out. Wegmans is best for groceries, but the quality of the hot bar has gone way down since it was brought back during COVID! Whether at the one in Lanham or Columbia, each time I purchased something cooked to bring home to eat, it was awful. Either no taste or overcooked. So maddening, when their prices have gone up and you're trying to not go through some drive-thru, only to find, you've WASTED your money. So I gotta say that 99% of my reviews are for restaurants because there's more components of dining out then there are at say a laundromat. Having said that, I would like to discuss the charcuterie team at this Wegmans. They were all completely versed and aware of all the meats under the glass. Not only that, they seemed to know how to handle them. Specifically, Lyle was a total pro. Prosciutto (for those of you who don't know) is an aged pork that is quite tough and difficult to work with. BUT if you slice it correctly it it the most magical thing you'll ever eat. The problem is that slicing it correctly is a huge pain in the neck, back, and shoulders...as well as hugely time consuming. Prosciutto has to be sliced very thinly and the fat on the outside needs to be trimmed from time to time to make sure that the meat-to-fat ratio doesn't get out of whack. Also...because the slices are so thin, you have to separate them from each other with plastic sheets...also hugely time consuming especially for a pound and a half. Lyle did it all and with a smile. Next time I go back to Wegmans, I'm looking for this dude. He seriously knows what he's doing. read more

Imagine if you will a Walmart Supercenter, but instead of tires and electronics and clothes, it's ALL food. That's what we have here at Wegmans. It's Walmart-sized but it's all about the groceries and fresh foods. And by fresh, that includes stuff that is ready-to-eat and stuff that you can eat right here in the store. Including the Burger Bar, there's fresh sushi and a salad bar and a hot bar and more that you can purchase and eat right here in one of their dining areas. Is it a huge store? Yes. Is it clearly laid out and well organized? Yes. Is there more than enough parking? You bet! Five stars for an amazing store that would be my regular stop if I lived in the Columbia area. read more

My only reason for not giving Wegman's a 5th star is because I have noticed that their prepared and packed food is not always consistant. It can be hit or miss from the sushi to the fried rice, from the mac and chesse to the singapore noodles. Other than that, I give this store only a 4 star rating...so sorry Danny Wegman. My favorite item(s) that is always on point is the guacomole and fresh salsa!!! DO NOT leave Wegmans without it. Lettuce in pre-made salads is always frozen now. They clearly turned up the cold cases that hold the salads. Lettuce is transparent, wilted, and full of ice crystals. It's just as well that they reduced the quantity of lettuce in each salad by half a few months ago. read more

Their meat substitutes section is amazing! A bit expensive but a wide selection of vegetarian burgers, crumbles, etc. The scoops of mashed potatoes in the prepared dinners are nice and round (see below lol). I like to go here and look at all the cheeses too. read more

I like, no, l LOVE the bakery department of Wegmans. They have so many choices such as fresh baked breads, sweets, and the like that l have to pace myself when l come to this section. Everything that l have purchased has been fresh. I lied, l love other departments here as well. The deli offers fresh lunch meat choices and the kosher counter beside it offers up one of my favorites, smoke black sable fish (@ $33.99 nothing to sneeze at) that l pair up with fresh, crusty Kaiser rolls...good eats. Wegmans has an assortment of ready to eat foods such as sushi, Chinese, pizza, wings and other good things that l can't all include here. There produce section offers up fresh fruit and vegetables. The cheese counter offers up a range of cheeses from around the world (manchego is my fav). Their standard grocery items are priced competitively with other grocery stores. read more

First time at a Wegmans and I'm blown away! If you like the bougie-ness and healthy options at a Whole Foods, this place will not disappoint. They have an incredibly large selection of literally everything. You want milk? Well it seems like they have 60 different options of brand and type. Cheese? Well they've got you covered with their huge cheese department, yes, a whole department! And the list goes on and on. Their produce is beautiful and fresh. The lobsters are swimming in a tank and the bread and pastries are baked right there. We had the 12 for $10 pastries and each one was delicious and was definitely freshly baked from scratch (no over sweet, generic or chalky tasting ones at all). I could spend hours in this store. Unlike a Whole Foods, I felt like their prices were a bit more reasonable. I predicted our bill would be $80+ and was pleasantly surprised that we left spending only $63. I wish I lived in MD. This Wegmans' set-up is an absolute sh*t show. Every other Wegmans I've been to across the country has multiple entry points for cars leading to a sprawling parking lot. This location has ONE bottleneck into which all cars are shuttled. I've waited over five minutes just to get into the parking garage--which is the only place to park. Then you have to deal with the 90% of humanity who don't know how to exit a parking spot, make a sharp turn, signal to indicate their next bloody move or generally not mow you down with their stupidly large vehicles. The store itself is also just crappier than the Lanham location, which has a better selection and won't make you want to kill yourself when all you wanted was some damn hot bar. Most of the positive reviews here relate to Wegmans the institution, which is indeed the best grocery store around (especially when steaming garbage heaps Safeway and Giant are the other main options). So yeah, if this is your only Wegmans experience then it's great because it blows the other local stores out of the water. But this is a terrible Wegmans if you've been to any other location in the nation. read more

I've got to be honest, I live 2.2 miles from this High-End grocery store but for a year or more I never tried it. (I'm Oppositional defiant) And when I did, I was just not that impressed. Then I got on this healthy-ish kick and discovered that Wegmans had all the good stuff I wanted (it was pricey, but great) and then I got addicted to their Sushi Bar. Now, I love it! We really like the healthy Sushi and the grilled salmon at the hot bar. Sure, a package of crinkle cut Jícama is $8 bucks - but how many of us have time to peel and crinkle cut Jícama? But the Sushi....Nom! So yeah, I was standoffish at first, and not a little bit pointlessly oppositional defiant (if everyone else loves it, I've got to hate it, right?)
