So unfortunate to say that this location is a no no for me ... how disappointing for a customer to have to return to the store to take both sensors off the shoes purchased. I'm sure the company has some type of protocol to follow when checking a costumer out. Very unprofessional and inconvenient I'd say. I asked for some sort of store credit or something for the problem THEY had created and in response all I got was a I'm sorry. The back of the store has racks of clearance shoes. I was on a mission for rain or hiking boots for an upcoming trip and I found Sperry rain boots on clearance. It was originally $100 and I got them for 50% off. Fyi the sales associate informed me that the rewards program recently changed and now there are three tiers. I have been a rewards member for several years. The perks include that you occasionally get coupons in the mail and get informed of sales. Additionally the more money you spend on your purchases, the quicker it is for you to get your reward. I learned something new while looking at the rewards brochure which is you can earn 50 points when you donate shoes. DSW is definitely a fun place to shop for shoe lovers. read more

DSW is a must stop of mine about once a month. Because of how much walking I end up doing in DC I go through dress shoes fast. Without DSW I would spend so much more. Fortunately there are always sales, they send me coupons, and I earn points on my purchases. (You can use up to 3 promotions at a time.) Plus the have socks with little bison on them, of which I have 3 pair. (Don't ask.) Unfortunately the only pictures I have on my phone right now are some wild looking women's shoes that I tease my wife that I will buy her with my points. I ordered a pair of slippers on the 20th of December, it is not the 17th of January and I called the customer service line just to find out my ordered arrived on the 26th of December to the store!!!!!!!! Nobody from the store contacted me nobody emailed me to let me know the shoes were there, I wasn't even given an arrival text call or email. This is one of my favorite DSW locations in the Maryland area. And, they have one of the best clearance sections. Yes, I shop clearance and I am not ashamed to admit that I go straight to the clearance section first before I peruse the other areas. It is always full and plentiful with shoes. Great shoes. Also, if you sign up for their free rewards program, you can receive coupons ranging from $5 - $20 depending on how much you spend and the occasion. I used to get $10 coupons for my birthday regardless of how much I spend, but now they only send $5 rewards unless you spend a certain amount between a selected period. But, I always get $10 coupons throughout the year, so it's not as much of a bummer. The actual store is pretty big (just one floor though and not as grand as the Bethesda location). The staff are usually very friendly and available for assistance, if needed. The line can get pretty long at times, but it usually moves very fast. read more

I enjoyed my trip here. I bought my mom and wife here to buy shoes. They looked around and found a couple of pair. I like they had gender neutral bathrooms. For me, I think the men shoes are over priced to be in a shoe warehouse. The prices I saw were not sale prices. But I like the cashier that was rocking to the music. She was very helpful. I went to return a pair of ugg boots I just purchase Saturday 11/26. Didn't like the fit. Went to the register the young lady looked at my receipt and said I can't give your money back, because the shoes cost to much. I said excuse me? And she walks away to another young lady at the register. I asked many times excuse me please explain to me what the issue is. She said very nasty a manager will be up to speak with you. I was very upset because of her tone and attitude. The manager comes up and says we don't have this amount of money in our register. Can we refund to a card. I had no issue with that. My issue was with the young lady. Her approach was so unprofessional and not customer service friendly. Just me kind. I asked for her name and very nasty she said something like Siyed. The manager was pleasant and assisted me. This young lady should not deal with customers put her on the floor and have her stock shoes only. She should not deal with any interaction with customers. DSW is by far my favorite shoe store. I definitely have an appreciation for quality merchandise that's well-made, but hate to pay full price. This place has a good selection of shoes and handbags at very reasonable prices for the quality you're getting. The normal DSW prices are already at a good discount from retail. When you couple that with additional discounts in the clearance section, you can find some really amazing deals. The store is big enough that even when it's busy you don't feel crowded. An awesome bonus - there's a bathroom in the store for customer use so you can shop for HOURS! This store has actually come a long way in the years I've lived in Columbia. Stopped in last weekend to use my bday reward of $20 and I was surprised how meticulously organized everything is now. The selection of shoes, boots and handbags are pretty good, especially for a quick purchase. They do have a few high-end designer names but most are mainstream shoe designers you can find in any mall. The place to pay attention is the sale section at the rear of the store. Sure, you'll spend some time searching through the massive displays but I guarantee you'll find a deal you can't believe is actually the correct price. I purchased a pair of shoes online from DSW. When the shoes arrived the box was battered, beat up. Took shoes out of box and lo and behold they shipped me a pair of shoes that had been worn. Some had worn them and returned then and the warehouse in turn tried to ship them as being new. All I had to do was look at the bottom of the shoes and the suede and could tell they had been worn. My favorite shoe store! LOTS of styles and sizes available at good prices. If you want a particular shoe and can't find it here, it probably doesn't exist! They always have a large selection on clearance at the back, too. Recently redesigned inside, I prefer the previous layout, but there are lots more registers now, which obviously leads to a speedier checkout.
