Ran into Nordstrom to purchase a gift card. I used the location closet to PF changes, which put me at the upper level. I wasn't greeted when I entered the store. In fact, I was looking for help and it seemed as if the ladies at the register right by the door were actively trying to avoid me. Thankfully, I was about to locate customer service to purchase my gift card. I wasn't greeted at customer service either, which is crazy to me. They really need to brush up on their customer service skills here. I understand working retail can be hard, but the store had just opened, so there was no real reason to have a bad day! read more

Fourth time going to this Nordstrom--yes, glutton for punishment. Absolutely no customer service. I swear every time I leave the store I promise myself never to return but I'm not a complainer so I just hope for better experience. This location is bottom tiered. David Yurman needs to drop this location because they never have what shows as available in their system. I tried to return an item which I purchased online. my return email stated that I could return the item at any register. It took forever to get someone to assist me after watching several employees walk by me without a word. The employee who came back to his station told me I needed to go to customer service. I showed him my return email and he said he needed to get a manager. When the manager arrived he che the item and asked me when it was purchased. I immediately said 'hello, are you the manager' since he didn't bother to greet me. The purchase was made a week ago and the tags were still afixed and I had the return email with a bar code. It felt like I was being judged on returning the item. This was the second time I've interacted with a manager and left feeling disgusted. I AM NEVER GOING BACK TO NORDSTROM IN THE MALL AT COLUMBIA, MARYLAND. I spend entirely too much money at Nordstrom to deal with dollar store service and lack of quality products. read more

I recently came in to pick up an online order. Service was quick and friendly. They fill orders fast - I had placed the order the day before and it was ready! The store is always clean and organized. This is in regard to their store credit card. They're quick when it comes to charging or billing your account. But when there's a credit or refund made. It takes them 5-7 days to clear,Ridiculous. Better off using another form of payment. read more

This is mostly a store I pass through on my way to other stores in the mall, but on occasion, I've bought items or had to return online items. The store is always immaculately clean and organized, and the employees are very nice and helpful. My biggest complaint is if there is an outfit I like on a mannequin, said outfit is never near the mannequin. The other day, I had to ask a sales associate to find an outfit I was interested in after seeing it on a mannequin. Otherwise, decent store. read more

12/2/21 I LOVE the customer service here. I was greeted by multiple sales associates and asked if I needed help and was finding what I was looking for. I wanted to buy a backup dress to an event I am attending this weekend as the dress I currently was planning to wear is very thin and I was worried I would be cold. Fortunately I have a shawl to go with it. I found a red velvet dress, but it wasn't flattering on me. I found a gold sequined skirt and asked the lovely, Chiosi, if she could assist me with finding a top. She found two tops for me. One was out of the question because it was low cut and would be loose on me. I have a boyish figure so I know what styles doesn't suit me. She also found a black bodysuit that was sparkly and fit me fairly well. I will probably stick with the dress I have for my event and save the skirt and bodysuit for a holiday party like New Years as it't sparkly. Although they don't have as many sales as other department stores, they have a good return policy and other services that make up for it. There is no time limit for returns and exchanges. Merchandise purchased at Nordstrom stores or online can be returned at Nordstrom Rack. Returns can be made curbside, in store, or by mail. They offer complimentary alterations on a handful of regular price merchandise if you are a Nordy club member. I also saw a sign on a table that they offer free gift wrapping on any Nordstrom purchase and $8 for non-Nordstrom items. I definitely plan to shop hear more frequently for higher end, quality merchandise given their lenient return policy. I have problems finding comfortable shoes so it's a no brainer for me to shop here. Unfortunately, I haven't liked the limited selection of comfort shoes the few times I have looked. I have been a Nordstrom customer my entire life, but today was my first time at this particular location. This was a pretty standard Nordstrom, maybe the product selection was less than usual. I came in looking for some dresses for some occasions that are coming up. I was browsing the dress section and had grabbed a few dresses before the sales associate came up to me to start a fitting room for me. A few minutes later I was looking at a dress on a mannequin and she came back over to speak to me. I asked her where the dress was hanging so I could try it on, which she proceeded to tell me that was the last one. I loved the dress and wanted her to take it down, but she started acting very hesitant. She then went on to tell me several times that the last dress was a very small size, looked me up and down, and told then told me it probably wouldn't fit. Ummm... Well that was a blow to my confidence... Definitely not something I wanted to hear when I was looking for a dress for a special event. After I insisted that was in fact my size she took it down and put it in the dressing room. Later when she came to check on me and I had the dress on, she said "OH WOW! I really did not think that was going to fit on you." I ended up buying the dress and I love it, but not a pleasant or confidence building experience, probably will not be back to that location. read more

I will give 4 stars for the wonderful customer service I received yesterday. I only entered to browse and hopefully find something for an event. I did see the color I was looking for, but the size was rather not near to my satisfaction. I stumbled upon several ladies and asked for their assistance in trying to find sizes for plus size women. Unfortunately looks like this is becoming the norm at most stores not to carry clothing for plus size women. It looks like they have a very limited of sizes for plus size, which I find sad, when I thought the fashion industry was suppose to include all sizes. I do hope the Towson location still carries larger sizes. The sweet young lady did show me a dress, but it only went to a 2X. She was very kind and helpful with the limited selection. My husband and I decided to walk around some more, only to find nothing to our liking and left. read more

I decided to purchase a perfume recommended by the a very knowledgeable and pleasant lady in this section. She wrapped the perfume for me and provided examples for future purchases. So sad Annapolis Nordstrom shut its doors.. at the same time just glad Columbia is still operating. It seems like a smaller sized store than usual. I had a few items delivered here from my online order and stood in line for a few minutes. The customer service is okay. I think Nordstrom's return policy and quality of goods are superior. The employees didn't seem too excited to be there. Exception of the women's shoe section. Brian and another fellow are just the best! Make up section not bad. They carried maybe the entire line of "Super Goop!" And a nice selection of Birkenstocks. I'll be back. read more

Nordstrom is my favorite department store. The location at Columbia mall is on the smaller side but very well kept, good customer service. Never crowded compared to the rest of the mall. I went 2 weekends for some shopping and had the opportunity to purchase a signed book by an up and coming author along with Art the following week by a DC painter. Also I can't forget I was contacted by the amazing beauty and fragrance manager Percell to let me know I won the raffle :). I was a bit lucky I have to say ;). The basket was filled with a lot of wonderful fragrances and beauty goodies. The 2nd event was a DC painter I purchased some amazing art and left with a few of his prints since the originals were sold. This is my fav Nordstrom! It's very organized. It might not be as big as other locations but I'm not mad. I ordered some shoes online today because I didn't feel like waiting in the long lines. They were available for same day pick up. I received an email an hour later that my order was ready for pick up. The online pick up order area was located on the first floor in the far left in the back. I was in and out within 5-10 minutes. read more

I needed some lipstick from the MAC counter and I wanted to test out some fragrances, since I was in the area I stopped pass the Columbia location. I went to the fragrance section first and it appeared the associates were having a party. Everyone was talking but didn't ask me or another person that was there if we needed assistance. I asked for some help and Mina was great. She was kind and patient. It was the same experience in the makeup section, no one asked if I needed assistance, I made eye contact with an associate and she was able to help me. I'm not saying you shouldn't enjoy your work friends and have fun at work but make sure your customer is taken care of. I had the absolute BEST experience today, spearheaded by Mr. Johnson. I wanted to exchange a gift (no receipt). Mr. Johnson noticed me looking around aimlessly. He asked how he could help and basically took care of everything else. He checked the floor to verify what was available (nothing). He suggested the best size and why he recommended that size. He processed the return and ordered the item, in the correct size, and had it shipped to my home for free. The thing that made his service above and beyond what was expected, is the fact that when it was time to gather my personal information, he asked me to step around to the side of the register so I did not have to blurt out my personal information. Stopped in to see if my buy online pick up in store order could be expedited since I was physically in store instead of having to come back to the store. The associate at the order pick up station (lighter skinned black woman with grey hair pulled into a ponytail wearing a gold watch) was incredibly rude and essentially shooed me away from her register as if I was a waste of time and space. I immediately asked for a manager. Thankfully, she was able to do that much. Another associate, Daksha, was incredibly helpful from that point on. The manager in charge, Ebony came over and offered solutions for my problem. Ebony and Daksha were able to make sure I left with what I came for and with an overall much more positive experience than the first associate I encountered. Thank you to Daksha and Ebony. Came here looking for summer sandals w/my daughter. She decided on a pair. It's Memorial Day so the store is pretty packed. The sales guy Ron was very helpful, friendly and informative. He ordered the color she wanted for next-day pick up and we were off. It was such a seamless transaction. As we looked in other departments I noticed that the sales staff were very welcoming and friendly even if they were in the middle of something. This was a very pleasant experience. Nordies is my guilty pleasure. I get my shoes, jewelry and make up from here. Yes, here and not "the Rack". Shoes: Their sales are pretty good. The sales associates are few and far between so most times you have to search for them. The service they provide is always decent. Jewelry: I have a designed with whom I'm obsessed and I found that her counter is getting smaller. At one point they would move the designers all over the counter every other month and that was annoying. Now, things are pretty stationary. I do appreciate that they will repair or offer an exchange for jewelry that breaks. Make-up: I get my makeup from this counter mostly as opposed to the store. I buy 2x as much makeup as the normal shopper as I have a home supply and a travel supply. It helps to get my stuff from here as I can use my card and get points for my purchases. Chocolates: the counter is usually in the Housewares area across from the bras. If you haven't had a chocolate from Nordies, you haven't lived. I'm not referring to the packaged Godiva, I'm referring to what they sell under glass. Excellent pick me up present to yourself or Vday gift for mom. Misc: I will get pattern spanx tights & belts from here. Spanx are never go on sale, but they have a good size array. The belts... The options are extensive, but you do have choices. I love this place. Love the service. It would be nice if there was a cardholder lounge where you are offered tea and cookies for when you shop. One can only dream, right? read more

Hubby and l came here in search of a new men's cologne that he could potentially take on vacation. We were directed to the men's clothing section on the first floor, where they also had the men's fragrance counter. He is so dang picky, but the associate on duty, that also happened to be the new men's fragrance manager at the Columbia Mall location (sorry l forgot her name!), was very helpful in assisting hubby with his fragrance choices. As he perused the scents, spraying them on the available strips of soft cardboard paper, waving them slightly and inhaling them while sniffing the small jar of coffee beans that are provided near the fragrances in between his sampling sessions to realign his sense of smell, he decided on two. He then asked for samples of those two fragrances that he could spray on and check the scent on him after a few hours to smell if those selected fragrances meshed well with his body chemistry. The manager obliged and proceeded to prepare the two sample vials of fragrance and wrote their names on them so that he would not forget which was which. After we return from our vacation, he liked one scent that he will definitely purchase. Now that is what l call first class customer service! I order a Gucci bag from you guys and this is how they sent it (just as you see in the picture) The bag had stains on it. The bag was also crushed and flat like a wallet. I'm so glad I opened the box while I was at the store. This is crazy and so unacceptable. When I called the store that it was shipped from (store 422) the person that I had spoken to acted like she didn't care. How could you send a luxury bag like this?! In a freaking box with the dust bag inside. Clearly this bag was used and they fulfilled this order anyways. How come things like this is happening so often? This location in Columbia, Maryland sucks as well they did nothing but made it worse. read more

I went to Nordstrom in Columbia mall to buy bras. I went directly to the lingerie section with my mom and looked for a few seconds, without touching anything. As I was looking for a specific brand I prefer. The sales late speaks to my mother than she yells at me from behind to ask what I'm looking for, without a greeting. I tell her I'm looking for the brand Freya. She says they don't have it. I said yes I see. Then she ask if the brand is European blah blah, I said it doesn't matter if you all don't have can I get measured? She say yes give me a moment. She walks to the register and returns to escort me to the fitting room. She tells me to undress and she will return. 10mins later she returns to measure me and looks me up and down for 60 seconds and says "this bra is too small". I immediately told her I don't need her services anymore. She then begins to justify her comment. I immediately got dressed and left. This was very disheartening since they found a tumor in my breast and it's growing fast. I'm just unable to keep up with the growth of the mass, until the surgery. I've been buying bras from Nordstrom for years but I usually go to Tyson's corner but figured I'd try the Columbia location. I will not be returning. read more

I would have to say the service here is horrible. I don't know what kind of people are doing the hiring here, but geeze if you Are hiring people who don't want to do customer service. I shopped at the houseware section on 7/20/19. I purchased 2 coffee cups and was assisted by Fannie who was very pleasant and courteous. At my request, I needed 2 gift boxes. She had to get them from the back room. Then she placed the cups into the boxes and made them into beautiful gifts with ribbons, which I didn't expect. I haven't had this type of service from any store in a long time. I commend Nordstrom staff for the extra touch. read more

This is my go-to department store at the Mall at Columbia. Without Nordstrom there, I'd have to drive out to MoCo or Towson for shopping. I will always love Nordstrom because of their good customer service and unique finds. Sure, you get a few incompetents here and there, but usually the associates are friendly, helpful and make me feel like a valued customer. And I love how you can return ANYTHING you've bought from Nordstrom. They will take it back and refund you your money, no questions asked. Incredible! This Nordstrom has a great shoe selection, designer handbags and sunglasses that are almost always marked down and a nicely merchandised Brass Plum (young sportswear). Also, I used to always buy my kid's clothes and shoes here when they were younger. Very cute selection you don't see at other stores. My only gripe is with their cosmetics counters and Savvy (designer women's sportswear). They just don't have as big of a selection as the other Nordies in the area. Don't ever go to their MAC counter. Rude, wanna be bougie women who are too busy chatting and talking about people to help you. Walk down a few stores on the upper level in the mall and hit the real MAC store. read more

I've always been a fan of Nordstrom until today. So I ordered Caiden a pair of boots to be picked up in "2 hours" they charged my card and said they'd email when they were ready for pickup. Well wouldn't you know, they never really had the boot DESPITE the fact they charged me and when I called they didn't offer to help me locate another pair. Basically "oh well, too bad!" So now I had to call the store and order ANOTHER PAIR and spend another $140 in HOPES that I can actually get the shoe. Don't go here for returns!!! I received a designer purse as a gift & it was shipped to me damaged. I took it to the Columbia location and after 30 minutes of being "helped" by 3 associates I was told I could not exchange the item without a receipt. For a gift!!! As if I stole a damaged purse & wanted to exchange it for a new one?!?! I also called customer service which was just as unhelpful. I have never had such poor service at a Nordstrom. For an $1100 purse this was definitely not acceptable. I love shopping at Nordstrom, specifically because of the service. This makes me rethink my loyalty to this retailer completely. read more

This winter, I stopped by Nordstrom's at Columbia Mall in Maryland to pick up 2 pairs of Ugg boots for my daughter. It was literally only my second time shopping during Covid but I loved it. The gentleman in the shoe department was superb and kept our shoes safe while we shopped. While there I stopped by the jo malone shop to pick up 2 or 3 candles as gifts for my employees. I recieved terrible service, by the most dismissive SA I have ever had the opportunity to work with. It was as if she thought I didn't have the money to buy anything and her service and attitude reflected this. She did not want to show me the candles they had available and allow me to smell all of the samples. I was the only customer. (Cologne and candles differ). I was disappointed with this service and I was about to walk away when I smelled a cologne by the name of pomegranate noire which I loved. I went with the smaller version and this sa barely wanted to package it. I insisted that she wrap it properly and she dismissively did that as well. She didn't offer me any samples, to sign up with an account or anything. If I had not wanted the perfume and paid for it already, I would have walked away at that very second. This woman was a jo malone associate about 5'2, short gray hair with a fantastic cut and a sharp leather jacket. Well dressed with a sourpuss attitude. I only mention this now, because I was at the Nordstrom's in Towson a week ago and met Serey Tran. She was absolutely delightful. She worked with me to find not only my scents for spring and summer but got me registered for sales and events that were coming up (literally one was for the new limited collection the next day). I have the worst time finding scents and she helped me find two that I thoroughly enjoyed. She also explained how I could layer the two to get a deeper long lasting scent. She gave me her card to contact her if I needed anything at all. I ended up with two new colognes, samples to try and a wonderful experience. I will make sure I stop by to see her the next time I'm in town, even though I live closer to the Columbia mall. That other SA needs a refresher lesson in customer service. read more

Horrible excuse for a Nordstroms. No tory burch shoes. No tory burch earrings. No badgley mishka dresses and apparently very few designer dresses in general. The salespeople in dresses are basically clueless. I was looking for badgley mishka dresses and asked 3 people who all pointed me in different directions. I finally asked a fourth person who told me they don't carry her dresses. The Salespeople in shoes are sorely unfriendly! Aren't nice salespeople (esp in shoes) what Nordstrom is known for?? I did appreciate the employees in jewelry who were very helpful. All of the other departments are seriously lacking. Sadly, I'm not sure if the nordstrom in Towson is much better. I was looking for a new perfume scent and went into Nordstrom wanting to sample perfume. The sales lady at the Jo Malone counter was very rude and nasty when I asked for a perfume sample. I had the same experience when asking for a sample of Delina perfume. These perfumes are very expensive and before purchasing I just wanted to see how the perfume smelled with my body chemistry. I don't think that asking for a sample was too much to ask. I've been a customer of Nordstrom's since it opened its doors years ago but Customer Service at the Columbia Mall location has really gone down. They don't deliver products, they lie about the delivery, they do not provide evidence of delivery and their customer service is horrible at its best. I always have a great experience at this store. Most recently my mother and I took my 14 month old for shoes with a hard sole. I had heard good things about the brand 'See Kai Run' which they sell in the children's department. There wasn't an associate in the shoe area but I walked over to where the clothing and baby accessories are located and Gabby helped me. Gabby was so sweet and friendly. She fitted my daughter's foot and recommended we get a size 3 (despite her probably growing into a 4, the latter was a bit big). I was very pleased with the quality of the shoe. They had a few selections to choose from and we opted for function. At the end of the transaction Gabby patiently signed me up for the Nordy Club rewards (free and simple). She also brought out a Nordy for my daughter since it was her first pair of real shoes not booties. The Nordy is a cream colored stuffed animal, so thoughtful! We didn't take any of the balloons but my daughter did hold one and teeter around the store for a bit. The Mother's Lounge is also a huge plus for moms on the go who are seeking a clean, calm changing and feeding area. We will be back because of great service from employees like Gabby! read more
