Employees are lacking in numbers as for this trip I walked half the store to find someone. Between my last visit and this visit all but two of the registers have been replaced with Self-service checkouts. I HATE SELF-SERVE CHECKOUTS. And it's been close to a year since my last visit. Overall the visit was decent and I found everything I was looking for. Despite having to hunt down an employee and having to scan-n-pay my own self the visit was ok. So 4-stars to this PX.

I went into the story because my curiosity peaked and I was surprised by all the cool toys they had. Also, this store had all types of stuff for different ages. From card games, to board games, to tabletop and drinking games. They even had a freaking golf mat you could put in your bathroom when you're stuck on the toilet! Most surplus stores actually carry more new 'military-like' gear than they do actual surplus and are more like low-end outdoor/tactical shops. Those are cool and I enjoy them too for other purposes but sometimes you want actual stuff with an NSN, and Randy's shop is like 99% real surplus gear and he has a huge variety of stuff, from uniforms to chest rigs to medical, packs, pouches, holsters, pretty much everything you can think of. Given his location a lot of it is Army but I've seen plenty of uniform issue from other branches as well. He runs the shop out of his property so it's a bit tricky finding the first time, but something about taking a gravel driveway to buy surplus in an outdoors settings makes it even better. What you'll find here: - containers, rucks, packs, pouches (saw, grenade etc), camelbaks, holsters, pistol belts, poly pro, acu's, class a's msss, chest rigs and plates, ifaks and supplies, mre's, alices, molles, camo netting, eye/ear pro, helmets, way more, all real surplus. A very small handful of aftermarket non-surplus packs, and a small handful of aftermarket non-surplus accessory stuff. What you won't find here: - tons of cheap civilian sleeping bags, civilian tents, new in box work boots, rows and rows of cheap knives, fake "take a number" customer service gags, or any of the stuff that tends to dominate other 'surplus' stores. He runs this shop by himself so if you aren't in the area absolutely call ahead and make sure he's expecting you. I've been there several times and have only dropped in once when he wasn't around. Randy's also one of the nicest humblest guys you'll ever do business with. Take your time and talk with him while you shop.

Decided to look around while I was there and was able to find a very cute ski jacket for myself! I have been looking for a ski jacket for months. Everywhere I have gone either has no jackets for skiing or if they happen to, they are either not in my size, too expensive, or ugly. I have not heard of the brand Madden Girl before but what a great jacket for $60! I am shocked. I even took it skiing with me and it did a great job keeping me dry and warm. Kohls is a great place to go for guys clothing specifically. I kind of feel sad for this store it is usually pretty empty, but it is nice to not be in a crowded store.

They have slushies, they have foods mostly of course the typical gas station type of foods and a few others and it's basically a Mini store. However what drives me nuts is that there is always A-line so if you are looking to get in-and-out it is something that will not happen your best bet is to go somewhere else but if you have the patience I typically enjoy the experience. Hours aren't 24/7 but faster then the commissary when you have a snack or drink craving.

Alcohol, grab and go items such as coffee, sandwiches, chips and drinks are available and they frequently offer promotions and discounts on their goods. My pet peeve is the patrons who park at the pump and go inside to pay but start shopping instead of coming out to fuel up. This causes cars to line up at the pump while waiting on that person to return to their car and then fuel up. They are capable of accepting pay by phone options as well as cash and credit.

There actually are two stores here; one handles slightly more upscale items for around $25 each. Especially for people perhaps losing weight and in an intermediate size, the price is right!
