After a 6am run to the airport, (Oct 2025), I was in the mood for fried chicken, of all things. On the way home, I searched for who's open, and this Royal Farm said they opened at 5am! I've had some RoFo chicken disappointments before, but a tip of the hat to Daym, who has mentioned this technique: For the freshest fast-food, go to a place as soon as possible after opening time! I got there around 6:30am, and surprise, they actually had chicken freshly made at that hour! I got just one fried chicken thigh. It was hot and crispy, and the chicken was tender and juicy and flavorful, right up there with the well-known drive-through places. Now I know why folks love their RoFo chicken. Come when they've made a fresh batch! For me, it's now on my "breakfast" list :-)

Nice to know it hasn't been sitting all day. Store wasn't busy this morning. They didn't have any cashiers but they have two self service registers. These guys are awesome- there's a blizzard and everything else is closed? No worries, these guys will have their lot plowed, their sidewalk shoveled, and fresh coffee on. They're in a perfect location, just a short stroll from any of the apartment or townhouse complexes, and not only do they know their regulars, they're compassionate and trusting enough that when I forgot my wallet the other day, they insisted that I go ahead and take my purchases and just stop back in whenever I had a chance to settle up. There are occasionally teenagers hanging out outside, but not nearly as many or as often as a few years ago, and I've never had an issue with them or been bothered by them in any way, and the store has a policy for how many students can be in the store at a time, so often I think they're just waiting for friends who are shopping. The prices are consistent with other convenience stores, so while you can definitely get things cheaper other places, you're not paying any more here than you would at 7-11 or Royal Farms, and they have a way more interesting selection. You might not find every single flavor of potato chips ever created, but you might stumble across lime flavored wafer cookies and decide they're your new favorite snack.

I'll might try that. It has an ATM, which has no-charge for some bank cards. The web-page says it"s open 24/7. Recent reviews say it's closed midnight to 4 or 4:30am. It's the first in a little strip-mall of interesting shops. Hot chicken? Yes! Smoothies, cakes, I'll be back! It's kind of easy to miss. Well, for me, a non-Columbia native :-). If you have vertigo issues, this could be a lot to deal with. For me, it was kind of like a roller-coaster! A great feature is that you can use the app instead of pulling out a card or punching-in a code every time you want a wash.
