At one point, we thought an item was out of stock--but just as I was about to check out, one of the associates caught me and let me know they had found it. That extra effort was the touchdown icing on the cake. This location really embodies what great customer service looks like. My experience at Trader Joe's Columbia, MD on 2/21/2026 -- right before the snowstorm -- was extremely disappointing and embarrassing. I attempted to return a few items, and the store manager processed the return in a way that felt unnecessarily confrontational and humiliating, especially in a very crowded store. I was questioned in a manner that singled me out, even though Trader Joe's is known for accepting returns if customers are not satisfied with a product. What made this more upsetting is that I have personally witnessed other customers return items without being questioned at all. I won't mention who. It appears that management selectively decides who to scrutinize, which feels unfair and inconsistent. I contacted corporate to address the situation, and while the store lead did follow up, there was no real accountability -- only explanations and excuses for the manager's behavior. No acknowledgment of how inappropriate the public interaction was. Additionally, some items sold in the store are marketed in a way that seems healthy but contain ingredients that are far from it, which adds to my growing concern as a customer. I expect professionalism, consistency, and respect -- especially from management. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I love this Trader Joe's. The staff is always friendly and willing to help. They are typically stocked up on items and also offer samples. Even if it's packed, the staff work to quickly check out people. It is on the smaller side but they offer soo much at this location. The variety is unmatched. read more

Grabbed two jars since the store nearest me doesn't carry it. I will say I tried the potato and poblano tacos and was not a fan. But to each his own. I was throwing my sis a party and needed flowers. A friend of mine told me to go to Trader Joe's when they first open early in the morning. I did and I am soooo happy I followed her instruction! If you were unaware and love fresh flowers, they have a nice floral section with a variety of flowers and plants... roses, carnations, hydrangeas, fern, eucalyptus, and more... I was in awe! And the prices, unmatched! I don't know the last time I was able to get a dozen of red roses for $9.99. Affordable and quality product. They also gave me one of the buckets with water to transport the flowers in. I'm thoroughly impressed. I purchased a few speciality food items that my family has enjoyed as well. Trader Joe's is forever the prime grocery spot for the finer fridge and freezer items. Cheese galore. Perfected seasonal dips, spreads, pasta, baking items and desserts. Freshest veggies and sweetest fruits. Soups are pure yum and the grab-and-go section is ON-POINT. I must say that I have started to be a biweekly flower purchaser now--they have the healthiest selection! The eucalyptus that I have picked up the last few months has been my ultimate favorite thus far. read more

My oldest daughter and I dropped in on Sunday to pick up snacks since we were shopping in the area. Parking was crazy with cars going in every direction. Cars were fighting for parking spaces. Inside the store, traffic was worst than tbe parking lot. Store clerks were stocking in the middle of shopping carts and pedestrian traffic jam, why? I had to come here for my favorite No Fuss items. Trader Joe's has great items that take no time to prepare in the kitchen. Their cashiers are always soooo happy, fast & efficient! First things first. I'm convinced that every Trader Joe's has a crappy or weird parking lot situation. I'm standing on this until proven otherwise. Now that that's out the way...hello Trader Joe's! I recently moved to the area and this Trader Joe's is literally like 5 minutes from where I live. The good thing is that for once I don't have to drive 20-30 minutes to get to one. The bad thing is that I'll be here ALL THE TIME. I mean really...who doesn't like Trader Joe's? There is so much to try there. And thanks to the recent establishment of Black Girls in Trader Joe's on Instagram, I'm always heading in with a mental list of things I want to try. The thing I love about Trader Joe's is that there is something for everyone. I love their frozen foods section and they have all kinds of tasty and unique snacks. There's a lot of vegetarian and vegan friendly items as well which are helpful for when I do Meatless Mondays. As always, this Trader Joe's provides great customer service. As we are still dealing with COVID-19, there is an employee at the door who monitors the number of people in the store, allowing you to go in as others exit. They also wipe down the carts for you before you enter the store. read more

I like this location. It is relatively always well-stocked. The produce is fresh. They usually have what I am looking for and then some. The staff members are helpful when needed. It is pretty crowded even during the early morning, weekday hours. The overall store is clean. The parking is ample and the grocery carts are always clean or at least in my experience. Hands down one of the cleanest store with the friendliest staff. Even on a super busy day, the shelves are always stocked, and the aisle is always free of clutter. If you're looking for a good personal freezer dish, I highly recommend their chicken tikka masala or butter chicken. It's one of my favorite go to dishes when I don't feel like cooking. However, some things to avoid purchasing can be their premade to-go wraps as I find the lettuce to become soggy on most of them. Ideal spot to pick up healthy snacks on your way down while driving on 95 south. Found Peruvian corn nuts and plantain chips. Can't get enough of either one. The line to the restroom was long like 10 ppl deep, almost thought they were handing out free stuff and then i realize it was just one bathroom with a ling line.. Saw a review down below about every Trader Joe's having a crappy parking situation and I nearly busted out laughing. Why is this so true?! This shopping center is the absolute worst, with the Costco and Costco gas station being next door. Each intersection is a four-way stop sign and a recipe for disaster lol. That said, the staff here is so kind and totally on point. Yes, TJs have lines now, but that's something very minor to deal with in light of a global pandemic. The store is rather small and I'd rather keep myself and the employees safe, even if that means waiting. The lines move rather quickly. Things you have to absolutely get each visit: the frozen soup dumplings, the cutest tiniest avocados, and all of the seasonings (my fav keeps changing but rn I'm digging the Umami one!). read more

For years I've avoided TJs. Something about this chain intimidated me. But I had a really good TJ tapenade at a friend's recently, so I stopped by to pick up my own yesterday. I wish I'd grabbed a cart! I ended up grabbing a bunch of well priced organic greens, as well as kalamata olives. If I'd had more time, I'm sure I would have done more damage! No issues at all with this store but I tend to find that it doesn't have the largest selection. This store is exactly what you would expect from any Trader Joe's. Everything here is clean of course the staff are nice and welcoming and when I did visit last month which was still high with covid, I appreciated that they were being very careful and making sure only a certain amount of people were in their store along with making sure that the carts were disinfected. This is the only store that were able to go to in this area so we only tend to go due to the distance about once a month. read more

I'll confess i am a lover of Trader Joe's!! The employees are always friendly and they have a great selection of food! The prices are very reasonable as well. So there's not much to complain about. Most of the items they carry are their own brands and I believe that's how they are able to keep the prices so reasonable. They have a dry to freezer section in each and every Trader Joe's I have been to. Did you want a sample??!! Well if that's a yes they normally always have samples in the back of the store. The employee that handles the samples knows a good amount of information about the sample from my experience so ask those questions! Trader Joe's is a nice grocery store I am sure you have heard of already. During pandemic times, there was a long line to get in. They were limiting the number of people going in. There was someone wiping down all the cart handles before allowing customers to use them. All staff was wearing masks. The experience overall felt safe. The products are pretty good. Most of them are the Trader Joe's brand. It is not my normal grocery store, but if I only had the option to go there it would be more than sufficient. read more

I notice the quality of the food going down and the prices going way up. In the last year or two their own label sprouted wheat bread has gone from $1.99 to at least $3.99+ Recently they also halved the size of the bread, so it really looks like appetizer bread. Double price, half the size equals 400% price increase. Way to go on pandemic price gouging. There are a couple good items in this store but a lot is just garbage. And I'm not even referring to the aisles and aisles of junk food, all sugar and white flour, passed off as natural. No, I refer to items normally expected to contain some semblance of real food. I tried a box of spring rolls, which are pretty hard to completely ruin. What a shock! Inside the rolls was some kind of greyish-white mystery paste like vintage school glue circa 1950. Also a few infinitesimally small specks of something (vegetable?) smaller than tiny glitter specks. Tried to eat one, hoping at least some flavor, but no --disgusting. Another example -- veggie samosas -- no flavor whatsoever. Chicken samosas (also almost doubled in price) -- now I find hard chunks of gristle in them. Knowing that buying at Trader Joes is always cr** shoot, I've always grinned and borne it. But there is almost nothing there now that I can't get better somewhere else. read more

Trader Joe's has some awesome items I always go for, and Tangelos are one of them. While they are amazingly delicious, all of the bags there always have a bit of mold starting to grow on them. I asked one of the employees one day if they had any more in the back, but he said that they bring them in daily, and that's all they had. It was a bit strange that they would bring in rotting produce daily, but I left it as is. The negative 2 stars are for the cashiers. They always seem so unhappy. One day, it was getting a bit overwhelming for one of the cashiers, she kept ringing her bell (to alert others to open another register). Bottom Line: Yummy products, reasonable prices and free samples but it can get crowded. I love Trader Joe's. I used to live one mile from one and I went three several times a week for prepared foods (wraps and salads) and groceries. In a nutshell, here is what I like about TJs: - The products are their own private label (often produced by brand name food companies) and since they don't do a bunch of marketing, the products are very competitively priced - The store is compact but there is still plenty of inventory here. Unlike a Safeway or similar store, you just don't have various brands from which to choose. - The employees are friendly and energetic. - Fun product names that are often a play on words Also, I like that this TJs is right next to Costco. After loading up on bulk goods, you can get a few smaller items next door at Trader Joe's. Here are some of my favorite TJ products: - Cheeses in general - they have a huge variety and the best prices - Geek yogurts in various flavors - [Flavor] "Walks into a Bar" cereal bars (fig and pumpkin are my favorite) - The precooked beets in the produce section (awesome for salads) - Mirepoix (chopped carrots, celery and onion) makes making soup at home so easy! - Grains like farro and other healthy grain mixes (so much cheaper here) - Pantry staples like beans, corn and pasta sauces - The seasonal Kringle danishes (so darn irresistible that I did not fit into my wedding dress 10 days before!) - Greeting cards. I used to think that Trader Joe's was this fancy, expensive, exclusive to rich people type of grocery store, but during the pandemic when it became harder to find stocked grocery store shelves at times, I ended up going into Traders and was pleasantly surprised at how affordable it is. I'm in my mid twenties and not making a ton of money yet, and Traders has become one of my go to grocery stores. I'm also a mom, and a health conscious one too. I don't want to feed my family a bunch of chemicals and weird additives, and I love that when I go to Traders, I know that they aren't adding all that crap to their food. It's a really affordable place to find organic and all-natural options too! My daughter and I are dairy free, and I have a ton of allergies, and finding safe substitutes can mean going to 6 or 7 different grocery stores, which takes up so much time. Traders consistently has safe options for us, and it whittles down the list of other stores I need to go to in order to find what we need. They are also great for super cheap flowers and plants, finding easy to make meals, and entertainment ready foods! I'm also a fan of their curly girl approved tea tree tingle shampoo and conditioner (it's perfect for my 2b hair on days when I really need to get rid of all that build up from dry shampoo). Oh, and I stopped in here on my wedding day for some last minute fresh flowers to put in my and my bridal party's hair and they gave them to me for free! They've got a customer for life :) read more

I came for the coconut water because quick search of coconut water on YELP indicated Trader Joe's as #1. I asked my cashier she had no clue about the lack thereof making her store special. I drove all the way from... well it was damn far to here having given up on checking within a 5 mile radius of my hotel to only find BAI coconut water... which sucks!! Trader Joe's sells there on store brand and it taste better than BAI. I even purchased ZICO coconut water. 4 liters total because I love coconut water that much... I'll try not to drink it all over the weekend, but if I do this location of TJ is the closest, like 20 minute drive and has a Costco. Service was quick. It was packed at 1140am but I'm the rarity of customers. I got in, got out. I don't stare too long because I can't buy the whole store. read more

Shepherds Pie - gotta say that I was disappointed with TJ's shepherds pie. It lacked flavor. Using shredded beef was the initial problem. This dish deserves lamb. Vegetables were few and far between. Won't pick this one again. read more

Alright, clearly I'm a bit slow. I had NO IDEA that this Trader Joe's even existed! I spend so much time in Columbia, all up and through and just. didn't. know. DOH! Anywho, here it go. Located in the Gateway Overlook shopping center. Which houses Costco, Mimi's, Ulta...etc. It is on the other side of the shopping center almost facing the Costco. I suppose if you are getting gas, you will see it. How I didn't, baffles me. The parking isn't the greatest, especially if you go on a high peak day. It is quite small for the volume of cars. The store itself is quaint, the prices aren't as reasonable as my beloved Aldi (y'all know they are owned by the same folk), but the selection of items is much greater and so much more interesting. For example, Speculoos Cookie Butter. If they sell this anyplace else I have yet to find it. Simply ah.may.zing!. Oh my gosh, I can eat it from the jar! The frozen food selection is pretty cool too. I mean where else can I get a mushroom truffle, or tomato pest pizza?! Nommers. They also have organic items, and WINE. Zing! On the day I went, there were samples of tabouli and coffee. YUM! Everything was fresh, and they had pretty nifty recipes that you could try. There are no value cards here, what you see is what you get. Customer service is great, the check out process was amazing, everything was really quick, can't be beat.
