I use curbside pickup to shop because I am an elder who is handicapped, and I have pain from walking. Today, when I arrived to pickup an online order, the link from Aldi on my phone to announce my arrival did not work. Since there is no way to call or text anyone inside the store in the event of this kind of problem, I had to hobble into the store, wait in line, talk to a cashier who fetched a shopper, who fetched her boss who stated that she did not receive my order, and who blamed Instacart. I explained to her that I watched on Aldi's website while the order was shopped, and that the webpage confirmed the correct location and that the order was ready for pickup. Furthermore, I showed her the texts on my IPhone proving that Aldi received my order, shopped it, and notified me that it was ready to pick up. This "manager" was disinterested, rude, argumentative, belligerent, defensive, and unhelpful. She claimed this type of problem had never happened before, which is a lie, since it happened to me before, in December. She did not apologize. She did not offer to shop my order while I waited. She did not care about the cause of the problem. Instead, she said "There's the door. I'll walk you out." Perhaps this "manager" saw an elderly woman on a cane and regarded me as prey: someone she could push around and disregard. I came home without my groceries, in tears, I am ashamed to say. I called Aldi's customer service and then Instacart's customer service. Each blamed the other, and neither offered any assistance or assurance that this issue would not occur again. Aldi's website, on line ordering, and pickup process has always been a mess, and that process has varied every time I have used it over the past couple of years. Both times I have had to enter the store for help when my order was mishandled and both times I was treated badly. I conclude that Aldi does not regard having efficient IT systems and training their employees in basic customer service to be profitable. If you're elderly and handicapped, don't shop there. I never will again.

Love this location. It was nice clean and very organized. They had four lines open, which was amazing!!! The veggies and meat was fresh and well stocked. I highly recommend the place.

This Aldi is in a large shopping center with plenty of street parking. Carts cost money. They don't offer bags. The cashiers don't bag the groceries if you bring your own bags. The layout is almost the same as other locations including the Silver Spring location. The store carries most store-brand essentials, but they aren't very diverse in their produce range or pantry items. Stuff gets picked through quickly, faster than the staff are able to restock. The prices are super affordable and I can get all my grocery shopping done for the week in less than $20, but sometimes a one-stop shop is more useful, and Aldi is not because they just don't carry certain things like grapefruit or a wide enough selection of cereals.

A few name brands throughout the store.

Made a quick stop this evening to pick up shredded cheese to make tacos for dinner tonight. First thing you'll notice before entering the store is if you get a shopping cart you'll have to enter a quarter deposit to unlock the cart, but when you return the cart you get your quarter back. Upon entering the store I noticed how spacious it is and how the aisles are more wider than other grocery stores. At the time of day I went it wasn't crowded. Not sure how packed it is during peak times like on the weekend. Their selection of merchandise are not as plentiful as other stores but what sets them apart is their lower prices due to the fact that they carry predominantly generic brands. For a one lb. bag of shredded cheese I paid $2.49 which is the price of an 8 oz. bag at other stores. That's quite a bargain! Some of the packaging looks almost identical to brand names if you took a quick glance and didn't study the name. I did see some name brands such as a few candy and ice cream. They also have an aisle or two labeled Aldi Finds (Limited Time. Premium Buys). These are mostly household goods such as wall shelves, comforters, hot styling hair tools, bins, pots, etc. My husband had previously gone one time when the store first opened and wasn't impressed given the limited selection and generic brands. It meets my expectations for the essentials and in a pinch for something but in general I would prefer other grocery stores.

Having visited a few ALDI stores when I'm traveling, I was excited to now have one close to home. Simply put, they have a great selection of cheeses, meats, breads and baked goods at terrific prices. And of course all the basic canned goods and frozen items you would expect to find in a grocery. They also have one aisle of general merchandise and since it's December, they have gift type items, wrapping paper, decorations, etc. The self-service donut case looks amazing! Bring your own bags if possible. The cashiers will ring up your items and put them in an empty cart. You will be expected to move away to a counter area where you can then bag them yourself.

Came here shop and I have come to like Aldi. So you have to pay a quarter for use of a cart (which you get back upon return), and bring your own shopping bags ( saves on overhead costs), and endure sometimes long lines due to limited staff (which are hired to perform a variety of duties i.e., cashier, stockperson, cleaning staff), but overall you will grow to love it as I. The location on Rt.175 in Columbia has a bakery, stocked full of goodies fresh baked at great prices. The store also has items, though not a lot of name brand items as we know them, but strong competitors that I encourage you to try for the price. There were some hit and misses for me, but overall, I found some true winners. All in all I have become a fan of Aldi for the low prices, effortless shopping experience and hidden gems that I find for lower than name brand priced items.

Local heroes as far as I'm concerned!

Class Produce is a distributor that carries organic as well as conventional produce. I am considered a "cash customer" (even though I can pay by Visa or MasterCard) since I purchase as an individual. Twice a week, I receive a spreadsheet by e-mail of current stock items and prices. Pick-up is Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m.--12:00 noon, and the order must be received by the close of business a day ahead of time. Some pointers: -most deliveries come in overnight on Sunday, so the best day for pick-up is Monday. -check your produce on-site or as soon as you get home. Class will not issue a credit for items 24 hours after pick-up. I've had 3 small issues (fruit that wasn't optimal) since I started ordering from here, and Class was quick in resolving the situation, but the first time that I called, I did not know that I had a 24-hour window. -the warehouse is in Jessup right next to a new car storage lot, and it can seem a little bit confusing to navigate your first time there. Back your vehicle into one of the loading bays to the right of the entrance (the bays here start at #16, I believe), and go into the office (you need to be buzzed in) to verify your order and pay. -a weekly CSA (conventional and organic) is available for a good price, but I haven't taken advantage of this yet. The staff at Class has been professional and friendly--I like working with the front office employees as well as the warehouse guys. Loading assistance is available if you need it. Am I saving money? Yes! For example, the first pomegranates of the season just arrived last week. I paid $55 for a case of 36 (about $1.52 each). Organic pomegranates at WF are $2.99 each. Most everything is offered by the case, but there are a few items that come pre-packaged (e.g. dozen-counts of avocados, apples and pears). I wish that another family would share in ordering with us, so that I could buy more vegetables, but we definitely go through the fruit. When I order a case of organic bananas ($24 for 40 lbs), we'll let some ripen and freeze the rest for smoothies. Over the summer, the peaches and berries were a hit. In all, I highly recommend this place if you have a family of 5 or more (or want to share a produce haul with a friend). The fact that I can pick up organic produce from a distributor before it sits on a grocery shelf for who knows how long is wonderful. If you try it out, let me know what you think!

I attempted to return a few items, and the store manager processed the return in a way that felt unnecessarily confrontational and humiliating, especially in a very crowded store. I was questioned in a manner that singled me out, even though Trader Joe's is known for accepting returns if customers are not satisfied with a product. What made this more upsetting is that I have personally witnessed other customers return items without being questioned at all. I won't mention who. It appears that management selectively decides who to scrutinize, which feels unfair and inconsistent. I contacted corporate to address the situation, and while the store lead did follow up, there was no real accountability -- only explanations and excuses for the manager's behavior. No acknowledgment of how inappropriate the public interaction was. Additionally, some items sold in the store are marketed in a way that seems healthy but contain ingredients that are far from it, which adds to my growing concern as a customer. I expect professionalism, consistency, and respect -- especially from management. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.
