Restaurants can be hit/miss. This one was a miss...mistake. Called in. Server/cashier was great, on the phone and in person. She even took me on the patio and showed me the mountains by name. the cook had a lot of personality and was boastful of her preparations. I was optimistic--because of the personalities--even though the restaurant was empty. Mushroom omelette, and hash-brown potatoes had NO flavor. Clam chowder tasted like raw flour. Coincidentally located near the Harbormaster's Office, the Web Locker offers substantial meals at a reasonable price. I've been working at the harbor recently, and keep finding myself drawn to the cheese burger lunch special. A tasty party, grilled bun with the fixings. Fries and a drink. The fish and chips, and the chowder are also good. Super friendly and helpful staff. Order at the counter, and if they are not too busy your order will probably be delivered. The food is consistently good and they always seem to hire nice/friendly people. The price increase has made it so I can't come in as often. Went in this morning, August 9, 2023 for breakfast. Normally, this is a wonderful place to eat, I haven't been there for about a year, ordered a Spanish omelette, and a cup of coffee, Ryebread for the toast . The Spanish omelette consisted of bad salsa or sauce inside the omelette, no meat, four slices of jalapeño on top with a heaping tablespoon of chopped tomatoes.. the place was not very busy so when my food came, I asked the waitress for a refill on coffee and she said self serve only and walked away... Do you pay before you get your food so now I'm depressed I left a 20% tip. I would recommend you not go see this place again. read more

I thought it time to give a robust shoutout to a stable, local favorite. I do not know how many years I have been eating here, but I have never been disappointed. It is not fancy, it doesn't offer anything new. BUT, it does provide dependable, consistent good food. Something a customer can count on. Of particular enjoyment is the option to occupy their patio when the "garage doors" are open. It is nice to share breakfast with my dog peacefully lying at my feet, enjoying the experience also. Is it the best in the city? No, but did I mention the comfort in knowing what you will get? For me, that is a convenient huge plus. Without a doubt a great location with an enticing menu board! Must say been meaning to come here for a long time BUT the hrs. of operation are not in my "ballpark" sooo thankfully FINALLY got here today. Must say the menu board is widespread to meet all tastes. Definitely a "local crowd" today but due to the location can imagine it's packed in warmer months! Was met by Tara, friendly informative & accommodating. As pics show my "order" was diverse. Asked to delay prep of the burger until I had eaten my clam basket since it was a "take-out" for hubby who couldn't be here; not a problem & appreciated. Located in the Port of Bellingham, maritime themed decor, friendly staff...all good except for the food...lowest quality fried frozen fast food...went there with a few friends so got to try the Burgers, Fish, Onion rings and Fries all totally mediocre with absolutely no stand outs...think burger king or wendy's but even worse. Was good for coffee or a fast lunch, ate breakfast there it was ok great for elderly or small eaters, but if you want full hearty work until I faint meal you might drive into town. I've eaten here for years, really loving the food and location. But when COVID restrictions began, I (masked up, of course) asked the woman who took my order why none of the staff members were unmasked. She said the owner said it was a matter of personal choice, and she had chosen not to. Months later, the place is now closed due to the latest restrictions. There is a snarky note on the door which gives every impression that the ownership has no regard for the health of the community, let alone the customers and staff. Found this place randomly when looking for good fish & chips, since I had a craving. Since then, we've celebrated someone's birthday, graduation and a promotion there, the food is that good. The patio is delightful during the summer (but no umbrellas, so wear your sunscreen!) and the proximity to Zuanich park means you can go walk off some of your lunch right up against our beautiful waterfront, and maybe go fly a kite. If you get there early enough, it's also a great place to eavesdrop on the local fishermen and "live-aboards" who gather daily around the communal table to talk shop. However I ordered a hot tea and got zero explanation that it was self serve, and I wasn't even told where the hot water was. We have always loved the Web Locker until year. They no longer stay open until their stated hours of 3 PM They close at 2PM now. We have shown up at 1:45PM and they had already put the clam chowder away and said sorry we are out of it. It was clear they were going about closing down and the doors were even locked when we walked up. The gal opened it and said sorry we accidentally locked it really???. We were there another day and they took our order, we sat down outside and she brought our order out and at the time our drinks were half empty. (We didn't realize they had changed the hours as Yelp still says closes at 3PM now). She didn't say if you want a refill maybe come in and get it now. No they just locked the door! Considering the cost of a soft drink it seems like you need to be considerate of your customers who bought drinks and maybe announce that they will be closing soon and if you want a refill come in and get it. We were there today at 1:35PM and they were already putting things away and there was a person sitting at the table near us that was obviously in the middle of his meal and the girl came up and said are you done with this ketchup and he responded not quite yet! Talk about making your customer feel rushed and unwelcomed!!! Not a good business practice to drive your customers away!! We love trying little 'hole in the wall' joints and Google sent us here.. You walk in and the nautical decor definitely catches your attention. This place is set up as a walk up to order and then they being your food to you. The menu board is big and legible but does not include what comes on each item so we had to ask before deciding on our choices. I got the Cod Burger which was on a larger sesame bun with mayo, tarter, shredded iceberg lettuce and tomato. As a side is not included in the $10.95 price, I also asked for an order of curly fries which were $5 and change. My husband opted for the fish and chips with a bowl of clam chowder. The entire total for two people as $47 - which I'm not sure is worth it. The food was good, dont get me wrong BUT my Cod Burger tasted no different than if I were to order a fish burger from McDonalds. Also there was more bun than fish which was not what I would expect for an $11 burger. The chowder was pretty good, something we would order again but my husband also pointed out the smaller pieces of fish included in his Fish 'n Chips which concluded that while the food was good, the price was more than we would have paid had we known what was going to be served. read more

Loved this place. The staff were so nice and accommodating. We enjoyed clam chowder and a French dip.

How have I never eaten here? Kind of a weird gem with awesome decor and pretty dang good, hot seafare food. We were in about an hour before close - the service was not fast, not thorough - but helpful and apologetic and super friendly. The burgers - weirdly amazing. The clam chowder 7/10 (it's a high bar in the PNW) with a super breezy carefree atmosphere near Squalicum Harbor. I loved the garage door open feel, and kids/dogs are perfectly welcome. I have been to this place twice. First time, had a burger, it was ok. Nothing to tell people about. but nothing to complain about either. Next week went again since I found myself at the harbor again. I love Calamari, I have had it many times! So I ordered Calamari and Curly fries. I got them, and all the batter was off the calamari, and the curry fries where just pieces. I had a couple curls but not more than 3. I went up and asked if that is what their Calamari was supposed to look like, and they said "I think so" I told them that I have had breaded calamari hundreds of times, and it has never looked like this.
