Main meal of daily fish (salmon). Absolutely delicious, and beautiful presentation, but um, thats alot of empty space on the plate.

The meal was absolutely delicious and the presentation was beautiful. Surprisingly small portion, however with lots of empty room on the plate. Fish of the day (salmon)

Beautiful place with amazing food. The staff is friendly. The environment is gorgeous and if you can get there on a sunny day, sit outside and have happy hour! All happy hour items are three dollars off a piece, which makes it a great deal.

My husband and I spent Memorial Day weekend in Bellingham, the Lighthouse Bar and Grill never disappoints. The atmosphere and ambiance is easily the first thing that is noticed it's very relaxed and adorned with great views of Bellingham Bay. I greatly appreciate the stellar we received from every staff member of Hotel Bellwether; our server Andrea was exceptional. The food also never disappoints, I really appreciate the menu including multiple vegetarian dishes. I will return and highly recommend!

Eat outside and take in the lovely views with amazing food. PSA: It's on the water and can be cold, but they have blankets! Five of us went to dinner, we all had something different: Salad, duck, a sandwich...So obviously a very big range of cuisine. But the good part was that they were all so delicious that we couldn't choose which was best. Drinks are super creative and delicious, but woo! Some of them are STRONG. Service was really fantastic and very friendly. Despite it being freezing and breezy, the food stayed warm while we were eating, and the experience was super enjoyable. I'd suggest making a reservation for the weekend as it can be a prime location. OR - hurry down for a great happy hour!

Great breakfast spot--we had good service, beautiful views and delicious food. The thick cut toast and fresh strawberry jam looked amazing, and my own omelette was super satisfying without being heavy or greasy. The classic breakfast featured wonderful local sausage. This restaurant seemed to feature local foods, which we appreciated. If we can return for lunch or dinner, we will.

We are at the far end of the restaurant , I t's quiet and we find the booths to be very private and comfortable.

We live locally in Bellingham, but a lot of people who come here are staying at the hotel. There's quite a few options for a good food in Bellingham, but we wanted to dress up a bit so we decided to go to the Bellweather. We've been here several times and always had a good time, about half the time we go to the bar side, but it was a bit busy tonight. We were greeted at the front by Erick who we hadn't met before. My wife and I are pretty social so we do enjoy having a host at a restaurant, this is something we were used to before we moved. Erick and our server Maureen were super cool, just the right amount of friendly, and just the right amount of letting us chill. We do like the vibe at Bellweather, it's a place where you can get dressed up a little bit but then completely chill. They had a great classical guitarist who was providing some super mellow tunes, perfect volume. Lighting was great, great mise en scène. We started with the crab cakes, then had them bring out a Caesar salad, then the scallop potatoes which are cut up, razor, thin. I thought the star was the potatoes and the very interesting sauce. Cap off with Pellegrino and mocktail since we don't drink, super mellow and enjoyable evening. We spent quite a bit of time there and it just slipped by pretty quickly. I don't understand the other reviews about the service, the service we got was prompt in excellent. Thanks to Erick and Maureen for helping us feel at home and I hope we'll be back soon!

We came here for our 32 wedding anniversary. We arrived early so we went to the bar for a few drinks. Not a great whisky selection for a High end place. We had an old fashion and it was not balanced at all. We love the view of the water for sure. The dining area is a great view of the bay as well. For the food well. We had prime rib and it was very fatty. They do not offer mash potatoes so which is so weird to me. I would have ordered the Fillet but I am not able to eat it without Mash potatoes. Over all the view was great and the service was awesome. The food for the price well I am not sure I would rush back.

    Halibut! Absolutely divine

We had an absolutely perfect meal tonight. We started with the baguette with olive oil and balsamic. Then for dinner my husband had the filet with a glass of Caymus, and I had the halibut, pictured, both were cooked to perfection and the flavors were perfect. We ended with the Pots de Crème and a lemon tart. So amazing Our server really took the whole experience to a new level. Thank you for a great meal!

Is there a dress code? Is it more upscale? I want to go for my birthday and I really want to dress up nice but I don't want to be too overdressed

I have never been for dinner, only brunch and lunch. It is Washington casual, a nice dress should work for dinner.

The dining room was elegant yet cozy, with great lighting. The staff was also very friendly and our waiter was very helpful in aiding our choice. We ordered the Focaccia bread, the salmon momtadito and the tonnarelli as our entree. The focaccia was the only dissapointing item as it was very basic in my opinion, which isn't bad but just nothing exciting to write about. The appetizer, the salmon montadito, was probably my favorite item of the night. It was served on focaccia bread and drizzled with a truffle honey butter and sat upon a mascarapone yogurt. It was elegant and it was incredibly flavorful. The sweetness of the truffle honey butter was a great contrast to the salmon itself, and all melted together to make an exceptional appetizer. The tonnarelli was a pasta dish we split and was also very tasty. The pasta itself was a thicker spaghetti like pasta served with plenty of crab. It was tasty and it satisfied and I'd likely order it again as I will be back when my sister's visit. All in all, a great restaurant to spend a nice night right in the heart of Bellingham!

We came in for an early dinner so we were really able to enjoy the rustic ambience of this restaurant all by ourselves. As soon as we sat down the waitress was attentive and ready to take our order. I order the garden party off their cocktail menu. Snap pea gin, bay leaf vermouth, genepy, saline and pea shoot? I really was feeling adventurous with this one, a regrettable mistake. The first sip I thought I was drinking sea water with a touch of olive oil in it. I never send back drinks although I was close with this one, I sipped it throughout my meal. One critique I have about the cocktail menu is that every drink was over complicated with many exotic ingredients. There was nothing for someone who was looking for a simple craft cocktail. The table shared the Strawberry Panzanella, and once again I was accosted by an overwhelming salty and sour flavor. A traditional Italian salad consisting of grilled strawberry and focaccia croutons. The lemon vinaigrette dressing on this salad was salty and sour, and very overpowering. Unlike my drink we were unable to finish this one. I ordered the Roe Burger, which I had been really looking forward to trying, thankfully this one did not disappoint. Two smash burger patties that were thin, crispy, and cooked to perfection with slices of cheddar cheese on top are then placed on a bed of classic burger toppings. Tomato, pickles, and iceberg lettuce. This burger was served with crispy fries and garlic aioli. After my fist few bites my mind was beginning to change about this restaurant. We also shared the Reuben Croquettes. A super creative and unique spin on one of my personal favorite appetizers. These little fried pocket were filled with a delicious mixture of cheese and shredded corned beef. They were garnished with a small slice of pickle which was a great touch. For dessert we decided to try the hazelnut torte which was fantastic. It had a nice crisp outer layer with a soft gooey center. Lovely flavor and texture that ended our experience at Roe wonderfully. In conclusion our experience at Roe had its ups and downs but I left feeling satisfied. If you are looking for a unique culinary experience I would give this restaurant a try.

The patio can get a bit chilly, but it's worth it for the view, and they do have heaters available. I started with a salad, followed by the Keenan's burger with a garbanzo bean patty, and the soup du jour. All three were delicious. The complimentary bread served with garlic herb spread was a wonderful start--aromatic and very satisfying. The salad had a great balance of fresh vegetables and toppings. On a cold day, the soup was especially comforting. The burger itself was well prepared and flavorful. The staff was polite and attentive, though they seemed a bit overwhelmed due to a large party seated next to us. Wonderful food and drinks. I started with oyster shooters (Willapa Bay) along with a Lion's Tail cocktail. Sierra said the bourbon and lime complement each other. I wouldn't have thought so and thought it a bit of an odd choice. But she was right and I was wrong: it was fabulous. One of the most delicious drinks I've ever had, for my tastes. She gave me several recommendations for dinner. I picked the Jalapeño Chicken. It was luscious and flavorful, but the best part of it was my choice of Balsamic Brussels sprouts as my side--oh my! We were seated promptly by a friendly hostess at a table in DT Fairhaven, and our server was the bartender. After being seated, we waited a long time without anyone taking our order. We eventually asked if we had a server and were told it was him, with no apology or explanation. We ordered drinks and food, but after more than 40 minutes, we noticed two tables seated after us had already been served, finished eating, and were leaving. At that point, we asked for the check and said we would not be staying. About 15 minutes later, the server returned with our food instead of the check. We declined the meal and sent it back. He then asked if we wanted it boxed to go, which we also declined. His reaction suggested frustration rather than understanding. We never got to try the food, so we can't comment on it. The service, however, was well below expectations given the restaurant's reputation. This was lunch on July 15, 2026. We may try The Black Cat again in the future, hoping this was just an off day.
