We stopped into Anthony's at Squalicum Harbor on a random Thursday afternoon with a party of five, and it turned into such a wonderful experience. We started with the crispy calamari with lemon aioli, and everyone loved it -- perfectly cooked, tender, and not greasy at all. A great way to kick things off. For entrées, the Oregon Shrimp Fettuccine with mushrooms and zucchini was rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious. Two of us ordered the True Cod Fish & Chips, panko-breaded and served with their signature ginger slaw and fries -- so good! The other 2 at our table had the lunch special Alaskan Halibut Fish & Chips, also served with slaw and fries, cooked perfectly. And the tartar sauce? Some of the best I've ever had. We were seated at a lovely harbor-front table with a beautiful view that made the meal even more enjoyable. What truly stood out, though, was the kindness of the staff. My aunt and uncle are elderly and move slowly, and one of the wait staff graciously offered to assist my aunt to the table while my mom walked with her brother. It was such a thoughtful gesture and meant a lot to our family. Our waiter, Shayne R., was top-notch! He was incredibly patient, checked on us often, and made us feel genuinely welcome. Came here for a lunch before heading into town. Staff were super attentive and professional. Glad I got here before the lunch rush. Got seated right next to the window with a fantastic view of the marina and was able to see the incoming rain clouds. I ordered a fish taco and chowder combo. It comes with chips and a home made salsa. First bite of the taco was amazing. So flavorful and with generous portions of delicious fish. The chowder is always amazing here! Visited for a family dinner recently for lunch. Restaurant was busy on the weekend, service was reasonably prompt and quite friendly. The apps came out before the drinks, calamari was ok...fried with tartar, nothing special. Spent quite a bit on the copper river salmon poke, it was salty and overcooked. Portion size was large for all the dishes. Nothing really stood out as special, but most dishes were solid. Halibut and chips were quite expensive but probably the best. Good views of the bay, well air conditioned. Bathroom is clean. Parking is free. Good for a group. Beer selection was good, skip the mixed drinks. read more

Let's just get this out of the way... We like Anthony's Hearthfire better :) Our experience at "Anthony's" was fine. We went during brunch hours so the menu was a little limited but we were served delicious blueberry coffee cake as a welcoming complimentary yummy delicious! I got the Eggs Benedict and my husband got the shrimp breakfast bowl. We liked both dishes and I would consider them good. The view is nice but we like Hearthfire better. The service was ok but better too at Hearthfire. One thing that I must mention is the standard for the server's uniforms is not up to par. They were quite dirty (looked like hand wiping in the aprons? Not sure). The overall carpet and booths looked a little tired and unkept. I think I expected a bit more since Hearthfire looked so top notch in all respects. Hidden away near the marina in Bellingham Harbor, dinner did not disappoint! Very fresh selection of specials and wonderful service! If it's in season, I highly recommend the alder plank roasted copper river sockeye salmon (say that two times fast!), with mashed potatoes and the most devine lemon beurre blanc sauce. You will thank me! If you have room, definitely order the ahi poke appetizer. Probably hands down one of the best tasting dishes I have ever had! Of coarse, they always serve very fresh sourdough bread with butter and fresh thyme on top, which is also delicious! Lovely view of the marina, and very attentive servers. The location is great and the view of the marina is what you are paying extra for. We had calamari, rock fish and salmon which totalled $100 out the door. The food tasted okay, not bad and not great. Brocolini pieces that were served with our fish dishes were touted to be fresh which confused us because all of it should be fresh, shouldn't it? They kept too much of the stem on, they were quite fibrous and tough to chew to a pulp to force them down our throats. Fish filets were a bit oily but cooked well. Rice had weird addition of soggy raisins which tasted bizarre with Cajun flavored rockfish. There was stale pineapple salsa served atop the rockfish. Overall, it was poor value for money for food that I could have prepared better and more of at home. The only upside was the view of the marina. read more

We tend to go the Hearthfire over Anthony's and after this most recent experience we will continue to do that. We will not be coming back again, even if we get another gift card. read more

In future you might want to consider posting something about this on your website, since our waiter told it had been broken for several days. On July 5th, I got food poisoning after having lunch at Anthony's at Squalicum Harbor in Bellingham. My wife and I shared a meal that included calamari, clam chowder, fried oysters, and mussels. About three hours later, I began experiencing severe vomiting and diarrhea; my wife also had milder symptoms. I ended up going to the ER and was diagnosed with sea food poisoning. We started our dinner by ordering craft cocktails, and didn't even touch the menu until we had finished the first round of drinks. My fiancé and I came to the area for a little getaway and stumbled upon this restaurant. Great views, nice upscale-ish with a simple brunch menu. The clam chowder had a unique taste which we loved. Eggs Benedict was a bit bland for me but the ham was nice and thick which was a good addition. The seasoning on the potatoes were tasty as well. The burger that my fiancé just had to have, was good but dry. ********the star of the show was definitely the blueberry coffee cake with that amazing butter. The fact that it was also complimentary was just mind blowing. I would buy that combo at any store near me if they sold it! The service was minimal and quick. The only minor complaint would be the bathrooms. They seemed quite downgraded compared to the restaurant. We loveddddd the gingerbread house displays!! This regional chain restaurant overlooks the marina in Bellingham and offers a wide variety of seafood favorites and daily specials. I also happened to drop in at lunch with some work colleagues during their Oyster Festival, which provided a number of additional oyster-centric choices with a focus on their raw selection. The table started with a sampler of local varieties and we found all to be clean and sweet. For my entree, I went with the Cioppino and Caesar salad combo, which was a daily special. While the salad was decent, the stew was spot on. Perhaps not the best I've had, but very tasty. Our server was efficient, but seemed a bit cold. A pretty satisfying meal all in all with a nice view. I can now see why Anthony's Restaurant is so busy and popular. The location is stunning at Squalicum Harbour. We were able to watch the sunset during our dinner. After bringing our drinks the server brought bread and butter before bringing out our entrees. Came with my mom on a beautiful spring evening to celebrate a late Mother's Day. Id made a reservation, but we were quite early. Happy to say they had a table ready for us early too, so we didn't have a long wait. Someone came over right away with water, and to let us know our server would be over shortly. The server came on a timely basis and brought some fantastic sourdough bread and butter and took drink orders. She was back quickly with drinks and to take our dinner order. We started with clam chowder and a Caesar salad. The salad was great - crispy, and just the right amount of dressing that wasn't overly thick. The clam chowder, however, was very thick and creamy (and tasted great). I had the Black Cod for dinner, and the lemony sauce was great. The fish was tender, and it came with a crunchy slaw under the fish filet, along with some jasmine rice. Great meal! I'll say that my mom didn't like the crab and artichoke dip she ordered at all. The waitress was very understanding and quickly replaced it with my mom's choice of a Caesar salad. And then they took both that salad and the dip off the check, AND offered us a free dessert. This is a nice, well-maintained Anthony's location. They have a large selection of seafood, most from their own seafood company. We've always had fresh and tasty seafood from Anthony's. My only qualm with Anthony's is they can sometimes overcook fish, especially salmon. It's tough to cook it perfectly in a kitchen that churns out such a large quantity of meals, and I have sent my share of salmon back to have it re-done at various Anthony's locations. This one is no exception. Other than that, we've been happy with them for decades. And their Dungeness crab cakes are to die for. Good seafood. Calm atmosphere. Beautiful views. read more

Went here went traveling from Seattle to Canada. They seated us quickly next to the window but unfortunately it was dark and we couldn't enjoy the view. Staff was generously offered to split our shared Blue Cheese Salad for no charge, which was our favorite part of the meal. The shrimp and blue cheese dressing were very tasty. I was expecting the creamy flavor of a typical chowder when I ordered the oyster stew, but It is lighter and more refreshing. The taste grew on me after a few tastes and I really enjoyed it. The service and drinks were great. The food was not so, great. Order mussels and they were fishy smelling and they didn't reduce the wine out. So they had a hard wine taste. Order the stuffed mushrooms and they had no flavor, one little piece of shrimp and not sure where the crab meat was. Had to use a lot of salt and pepper to add any flavor. Caesar salad was ok, dressing needs a little work. Overall, disappointing experience. Been eat at this location for over 18 years, it may be time to stop. read more
