Pan fried oysters were delicious. Very soft, chewy, and flavorful inside and perfectly crispy on the outside. Northwest rockfish tacos were also great. The fish was light and flaky, and the taco size portion was generous, and the accompanying broccoli with salt & cheese was soooo delicious. We also enjoyed the house bread with butter. I love Anthony's food. All of it is so darn good. The drinks and desserts are stellar as well. Whenever, I get a chance to come here I get excited. I always recommend this place to anyone who wants great food experience. The service is always professional, friendly and speedy. They can get busy so to have reservations is helpful. We've been to Anthony's at Squalicum Harbor 4 times now. It took us a long time to try it, because a few years ago we had a not-great experience at another Anthony's in another city. But I kept seeing good ratings and reviews for the B'ham Anthony's, so we finally tried it last spring, and we were delighted. Some of our favorites: Coconut Prawns: so good\! We don't even use the Ginger Plum Sauce that comes with it. You can really taste the coconut, and the prawns are tender. I wish there were more than 5 prawns. Dungeness Crab, Shrimp and Artichoke Dip: very tasty. Sometimes we'd like it to be just a bit thicker, so that it will stay on the bread cubes more easily. And we would prefer crostini or baguette slices, rather than the bread cubes which are a bit awkward. But the flavor is really good. Crispy Calamari w/Lemon Aioli: Usually really good: crispy crust, not oily, tender calamari, and the aioli is very nice. (Last night, it was a bit salty, but not usually.) Their bread is great (nice and chewy - and warm!). So is the butter. Main Dishes: We've enjoyed all of our main courses. The almond basmati rice pilaf that comes with many of the main dishes is lovely. And I always seem to especially like their vegetables. One time I asked for the fettucine alfredo as a side instead of potatoes, and it was absolutely divine! I love their Lemon Drop. Recently I tried their Peachy Drop and I could drink a gallon of that stuff!! The desserts haven't impressed us as much. The Burnt Cream has a lovely custard, but the brown sugar topping was a bit heavy for me. Hubby has had the Irish Cream Mousse twice; the first time he was underwhelmed, but last night the Bailey's flavor was much more pronounced so he loved it. Another time, my sister and I both got the peach crepe dessert to go, and I really disliked mine, but she loved hers, so... go figure. I've had their chocolate lava cake, and it is to-die-for. My only quibble is that it is absolutely freezing in there (IMO). But now that I know that, I come prepared with several sweaters and jackets. So glad we decided to give this Anthony's a try. (Now we need to check out the other one, Hearthfire), and see what that is like. read more

I called ahead to see if we might have a way to have a safe dining experience inside. The staff were great in working with me for my little party. I couldn't make a reservation for a large table--but they gave me advice to show up upon opening and request a large table that was completely removed from all others. It worked beautifully, plus--bonus--our view was great. Dana was our server and Tyler was the helpmate, and they were wonderful. Dana pointed out the Sunset Menu--oh, what a bargain! We had reservations for 6persons at 6p. on a very busy Friday night before University graduations and Fathers Day! We give 5 stars for the food, the excellent service, and the 5 star bay marina view. They even graciously moved our reservation to 30 minutes later as 2 in our party were caught in 3 hour rush hour traffic on I-5 coming from the Seattle Tacoma International airport, normally 1.5 hour trip to Bellingham I'm told by locals.. It was all worth it when we got to Anthony''s Restaurant!! They really took care of our larger party with a fantastic corner table overlooking the bay. Some of us enjoyed the in season halibut. It was excellent and the don't pass on the coconut shrimp appetizer or the Anthony Chardonnay. And for dessert seasonal old fashioned strawberry shortcake on a large biscuit just like Mama used to make. Surf and Turf is a steal at $32 from Mon-Thurs. Best thing on the menu is the poke nachos - exceptional. Clam chowder is so good too. Salted caramel cheesecake was the bomb. We had a reservation for three on a Sunday night and were seated right away. The hostess was very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant itself was nicely appointed, but it seemed loud for an intimate setting, but we were seated next to a very large group. The dinner selections were very nice. We had a crab dip appetizer, crab fettuccine, cod and chips and crab cake dinner. A little on the pricey side, but expected at a nicer restaurant. Our waitress was okay, brought all our meals on time and was friendly. I had water myself and the glasses were not refilled the entire time, nor was my guest asked if he would like another drink. They had some desserts and beverages on a placard on the table, but not all the drinks and desserts are listed, so see the dessert menu (separate menu) for a complete selection. We got the Bailey's Chocolate Mousse to share, but the dessert cup it came in was deceiving, because it looked like a parfait glass on the outside, but the inner portion was a cylindrical shape, about the size of a quarter that the mousse must have been piped in, then topped with with cream to mask the narrowness of the cylinder. Literally could not get the spoon to reach the bottom, too narrow. It was tasty, but you're maybe getting 2-3 oz of mousse and an oz of whipped cream...not for sharing. We made a reservation for dinner. When we arrived, we saw 2 groups of people were waiting by the entrance.. thinking they were walk-ins, we thought we would be seated immediately as we had a reservation that we showed up right on time for. Turns out we suffered the same fate with the waiting party before us as they actually had reservations as well. Now reading other reviews, it seems it's the standard practice here that you'll end up waiting despite making a reservation in advance. So rsvp is a must and be prepared to wait when you get there. The restaurant is spacious and modern with beautiful full-sized glass windows so patrons can enjoy the view of the serene harbor while dining. Our server was Kelsey and she was fantastic! She checked on us at a good pace. She was quick to deliver the complementary basket of bread. For starters, we ordered their award-winning New England Clam Chowder soup and it was deliciously creamy and hearty. I got the Pan Fried Willapa Bay Oysters which is actually breaded fresh yearling oysters that's served with almond basmati rice pilaf and a side of green beans and corn. It was filling but I personally found was just okay, a little on the bland side if not for the ketchup. For drink, I had the Wild Mountain Huckleberry Daiquiri and it was quite refreshing with the right amount of booze. He ordered the Angus Beef Tenderloin Filet cooked perfectly medium rare as requested. He was happy with his steak, said it was one of the best he's ever had. Service was truly great and attentive, the bus boy was fast to pick up our dirty dishes as soon as he saw one. We were happy with our filling dinner that was accompanied with a harbor view at sunset and an excellent service. Food was okay, shrimp cocktail not great though. Don't get the salmon dip, it's like Trader Joe's dip with some crackers and dollar tree capers. We got the salmon duet for entree and it was pretty fire, but the shrimp on it were baby shrimp (like the cocktail). Oh yeah we tried to get oysters on the half shell but they didn't have them which was a bummer. It wasn't a big deal until our replacement starters were bad. The Asparagus Tempura was fire, the sauces with it were good too. If anything was a 5/5 it was that as an app. Service was cool, homeboy looked done with his shift though. I don't blame him, didn't really bother me. Place looks fire overall, the insides nice and you have a view of the water. Outside dining wasn't opened but it wasn't that busy so I get it. Each time I've gone to Anthony's, it's excitement followed by disappointment. It's not not as great as it used to be. I called to make reservations for two for after work, and the employee answering the phone was rude and snotty. That lessened my excitement from the start. We were greeted by someone friendly and seated near the window, which is always nice to get to see the view. Our server wasn't friendly, but wasn't rude, but a smile would have been nice :) We ordered clam chowder, which is always delicious, and the cod fish n' chips. The cod was smaller pieces and was watery and definitely missed the mark, especially for a $26 entree. I used to enjoy coming here, but there is better food at better prices, compared to overpriced subpar food with a nice view. read more

I thought the place was ok. We visited on a bustling night, Father's Day. However, the customers deserve to be treated with respect, and food should be delivered in a better than en masse way. The appetizer - Kumomoto Oysters: always good, no matter where you go. Overpriced at this place. The entrees: scallops - also overpriced for what it was, and desperately needed salt; scampi prawns - that was delicious. Dessert - we had already waited a really long time for everything so we were kind of over it. Also, they didn't even acknowledge that we were there for a bday. That was fun. The main reason why it was just a meh experience was the manager, I think her name was Tanya? I don't know. She just had a really nasty attitude, and I think part of it had to do with how busy they were - and believe me, I get it. I've been a server. But that doesn't give you freedom to just ignore things the customers are asking and saying, and it definitely doesn't give you the right to look at them like they shouldn't even be there to begin with. We considered ordering more than what we did, but that was squashed because we were sat so close to the kitchen go hear the chefs complaining loudly about the number of steaks being ordered. It was a special being offered for Father's Day, so naturally people were ordering them. It all just further added to the whole "the customers are a burden" theme night. And thas not wassup. I hadn't been to Anthony's in Bellingham for several months. The last time I visited, the menu was reduced to minimal offerings and it was obvious the restaurant was trying its best to survive these Covid days. Tonight it was like old times at Anthony's. From our seating to dessert, the excellent staff was at their best in making us feel special. We enjoyed the surf and turf menu but noticed that the regular menu was restored to its old specialties like cioppino and seafood pasta. We reserved a table for 4pm and by the time we left at 5pm, the restaurant was humming with guests enjoying their meals. Good to see things back to normal! read more

I'm not great at math but that's, for example, $2 *each* for my plate of four bite-sized ahi nachos. This was our first visit. Only had to wait 15-20 min on a Friday night, not bad. Location and ambience was great. Our appetizer tasted amazing although it took quite a while to show. Our server was friendly enough and let us know but we didn't really see much of them. When our food showed it looked tasty but was quite bland. After telling the server I assume what must have been the manager came and spoke with us. We were honest and polite about the meal and said we were not upset by it but hoped for better. They kindly paid for our entrees and gave us some cheesecake on the house that was very good. They fixed the issue and we were happy with the night overall. Only other nitpick was the server took a while to ever come back. Will give them another go at some point. read more
