Lived in Bham pretty much my entire life and this was the first time I visited. Was not let down! We had a large group and sat right in from the entrance. It had a divey, cafe, bar feel to it. Lots of signs hung inside with a view out the window. Our service was amazing, helpful, and made you feel like you were returning customers. Went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and taken care of. When I was looking for dairy free options offered suggestions and what they also liked. I ended up ordering th Baked Potato, with the pulled pork, no butter, add jalapenos and I enjoyed it. Came hot and soft, was great mashed and mixed all together. It was a fun experience and a great place for groups to grab some food drinks and enjoy themselves!

Too much bum, not enough meat.

The radio ads for Nicki's are very enticing and I was in the mood for a big juicy hamburger, so... off I went. This was my first visit. Upon entering, I was pleasantly surprised. Comfortable, clean bar-type atmosphere with interesting harbor views. Service was prompt and friendly. The bathroom was even clean! There were also a couple of nice touches at each table. There was a complete condiment tray that even included little packets of hand wipes. I really appreciated all that attention to detail. Unfortunately, the experience declined from there on. The hamburger I received had a seriously flawed "bun-to-meat" ratio. There was over one and a half inches of bun and 1/4" of meat. The bun was plain uninspired white bread. It reminded me of Wonder bread in the form of a hamburger bun. The lettuce was not leaf lettuce, but a small amount of shredded lettuce. Likewise with tomatoes. No slices, but just a minute amount of diced. Take a guess about the cheese. Shredded. This hamburger meat was remarkably tasteless. In summary, I would rather have had a Big Boom from Boomers at half the price. Sadly, my hankering for a big, juicy hamburger went unfulfilled.

    Beautiful sunset.

In my opinion, this is one of the most underrated restaurants in Bellingham. The waterfront setting is amazing, the service is friendly, the drinks are strong, the prices are great, and the food is top notch. Not to mention they have amazing specials and a kick-butt happy hour. I recently got to re-visit when I was in town to attend the Downtown Wine Walk and we were looking for dinner-with-a-view. A wrong turn took us to Nicki's completely by accident, and while I hadn't visited in a couple of years I was reminded (some may say by fate) to check them out again. We ended up sitting outside and watching the sunset while nomming on their phenomenal fish 'n chips and sipping on a couple of tasty post-wine-walk beers. Our server was SO funny and friendly! Yeah, the decor is a little outdated and the bar has an 80s vibe, but really...this could be a good thing as it keeps the crowds away, right? And you really can't beat the views!

Hubby and I came for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. It was a sunny day, so perfect weather for lunch at Nicki's. This time, I tried the Buffalo Wings and got the Shrimp apps instead of the meal. My husband ordered the fish and chips again. Service was as great as usual. The wings, on the other hand, could have been better crispy for my taste. Sauce was okay, but I preferred a bit more spicy to them. Probably won't order them again. The charboiled shrimp apps were not as good as previously ordered. Great view, great service, still my new favorite place.

On beautiful days in Bellingham, Nicki's is the first place that comes to mind for lunch with stunning views of Bellingham Bay. Stopped by this week, and just as always, the portion sizes were huge, and the service was exceptional. Highly recommended for a comfortable, tasty dining experience by the water!

Huge fish and chips! Could serve 2 people!

Fun atmosphere with great views, super hamburgers and out of this world, huge fish and chips!

Good food, good drinks, great service, great view when it's light out. They hand cut all their fish in-house then batter and fry on order. Same thing with their onion rings. Their burger selection is good and they are fresh and delicious. They also have a build-your-own burger option. Bottomless steak fries. Their boards show all sorts of specials, especially desserts, and they all sounded very tempting. The decor is "fishing town chic". I think it fits in with being right near the marina. Drinks were good pours, our server was super friendly and knew what she was doing. Pro-tip: if you order the fish and chips, flip the fish over immediately and blot it with napkins to keep the coating crispy. Otherwise they'll steam on the bottom. Keep in mind their fish pieces are large. They *will* fill you up!

The dining room was elegant yet cozy, with great lighting. The staff was also very friendly and our waiter was very helpful in aiding our choice. We ordered the Focaccia bread, the salmon momtadito and the tonnarelli as our entree. The focaccia was the only dissapointing item as it was very basic in my opinion, which isn't bad but just nothing exciting to write about. The appetizer, the salmon montadito, was probably my favorite item of the night. It was served on focaccia bread and drizzled with a truffle honey butter and sat upon a mascarapone yogurt. It was elegant and it was incredibly flavorful. The sweetness of the truffle honey butter was a great contrast to the salmon itself, and all melted together to make an exceptional appetizer. The tonnarelli was a pasta dish we split and was also very tasty. The pasta itself was a thicker spaghetti like pasta served with plenty of crab. It was tasty and it satisfied and I'd likely order it again as I will be back when my sister's visit. All in all, a great restaurant to spend a nice night right in the heart of Bellingham!

We came in for an early dinner so we were really able to enjoy the rustic ambience of this restaurant all by ourselves. As soon as we sat down the waitress was attentive and ready to take our order. I order the garden party off their cocktail menu. Snap pea gin, bay leaf vermouth, genepy, saline and pea shoot? I really was feeling adventurous with this one, a regrettable mistake. The first sip I thought I was drinking sea water with a touch of olive oil in it. I never send back drinks although I was close with this one, I sipped it throughout my meal. One critique I have about the cocktail menu is that every drink was over complicated with many exotic ingredients. There was nothing for someone who was looking for a simple craft cocktail. The table shared the Strawberry Panzanella, and once again I was accosted by an overwhelming salty and sour flavor. A traditional Italian salad consisting of grilled strawberry and focaccia croutons. The lemon vinaigrette dressing on this salad was salty and sour, and very overpowering. Unlike my drink we were unable to finish this one. I ordered the Roe Burger, which I had been really looking forward to trying, thankfully this one did not disappoint. Two smash burger patties that were thin, crispy, and cooked to perfection with slices of cheddar cheese on top are then placed on a bed of classic burger toppings. Tomato, pickles, and iceberg lettuce. This burger was served with crispy fries and garlic aioli. After my fist few bites my mind was beginning to change about this restaurant. We also shared the Reuben Croquettes. A super creative and unique spin on one of my personal favorite appetizers. These little fried pocket were filled with a delicious mixture of cheese and shredded corned beef. They were garnished with a small slice of pickle which was a great touch. For dessert we decided to try the hazelnut torte which was fantastic. It had a nice crisp outer layer with a soft gooey center. Lovely flavor and texture that ended our experience at Roe wonderfully. In conclusion our experience at Roe had its ups and downs but I left feeling satisfied. If you are looking for a unique culinary experience I would give this restaurant a try.

The station burger is small and tasted greasy and off. You have to pay $5 extra for fries, otherwise a burger with no side is like $14. Our server seemed annoyed when we asked for smaller drinks with lids for my grandkids, and ended up charging us the full $4 for lemonades which were maybe 4 oz. (same price as adult full-size lemonade.) We had originally asked for chocolate milk but they claimed they didn't have any. I wonder how they make their chocolate shakes then? At least 2 families got up and left without eating. That wasn't an option for us, since the kids would have been upset and we were all so hungry. Then when I paid, I tried to explain to our server why I wasn't leaving a 20% tip and she started making excuses and arguing with me. The only good thing was the kids got to hug the Bob's Big Boy statue, a long standing tradition! I used to love this place, but none of us will be going back again.

Wonderful food and drinks. I started with oyster shooters (Willapa Bay) along with a Lion's Tail cocktail. Sierra said the bourbon and lime complement each other. She gave me several recommendations for dinner. I picked the Jalapeño Chicken. It was luscious and flavorful, but the best part of it was my choice of Balsamic Brussels sprouts as my side--oh my!
