The frys are our favorite in town! The burgers are very tasty it's the price for how much you get that makes it a less often go to burger place- we really did like the enlarged dining space! Deceptive Practices: Trying to even eat here has been a nightmare. First two times I came with my girlfriend, they were closed during normal business hours! Misunderstanding I guess, things happen. Decorations have no cohesion why are there local artists paintings for sale on the walls and then a framed picture of Jordan and Pippin. There's a random single pac man machine in the corner like be honest who is using that. It's not even like a maximalist kinda vibe like the walls are so empty and white that I'm actually scared rn. When we walked in we had quite a few questions and the gentleman behind the counter answered everything with ease and a friendly smile. I highly recommend the chop cheese, honey fried chicken sandwich and I cannot rave about the Kobe beef fat fries enough! Order all the fries! Unfortunately, today was a very disappointing experience. I was excited to get to be in town and take my nieces to lunch. We have come here before and they love it. When we got there they told us the grills weren't working when we first arrived, so we said thank you for letting us know because we had limited time (I had an appointment at 1:30). We had a plan B so we walked outside to head there. He followed us out and said they got the grills working, so we came back in. We went in and ordered. We then waited for almost an hour. During that time we saw multiple people come in and order food and leave with their takeout. We also watched one employee make himself a fancy drink and hang out. Finally I went over and said we needed to leave and that all our food needed to be to go. At this point he finally went back and started helping the other employee. When I told him this was supposed to be a special lunch and we had been waiting for almost an hour watching others leave with their food, he gave a short rude sorry and said they were having issues. It was not genuine and zero care was given. So either he lied about the grill starting to work or at some point it had issue again and he failed to let us know. My nieces were super patient but very sad that I had to rush and drop them off and didn't get to eat with them. I was also late to my appointment. This was a horrible experience all around. I was completely understanding of the grills not working and ready to go somewhere else and come back here on a different day. We have come here many times because my nieces love it. The food has always been great here. But every 3 years the prices increase. More recently the price of the fast-food fried chicken sandwich increased from 11.50 to now $14. They tasted like fancy McDonald's French fries. If you plan on eating here, seating wasn't the best. Limited tables and everything is self bussed, which when we went, wasn't managed well (some of the tables were dirty). Also, as some of the other reviews have mentioned, there is a strong smoke smell here. Like, when I went home after eating here, my clothes smelled like I was just at a bonfire. When I first came into the restaurant, I went into the restroom to wash my hands. While I was in there I noticed hair & blood on the toilet, floor and sink. The bathroom is filthy. I took several photos of the facility. Boot marks on several places on the walls. The walls all over, even to the floor are filthy. Does this bathroom never get cleaned? When I let the young man working the counter & taking orders, as well as making drinks know about the conditions of the restroom he got a wet rag & a spray bottle , then headed to the restroom. After the young man came back, l went to use the facility. There was still a good sized drop of blood on the floor in front of the toilet. There was still no toilet paper on either roller. There was a loose roll on a small plastic stand. The bathroom is still filthy. It's like they can't be bothered to properly clean it, and for a long time. After the mess up with my order and a young couple sitting next to me, someone assumed we were together, why... I don't know. The came in after me and I payed for my order before they ordered theirs, once I was done with mine. After telling the cook that I was stepping outside for a couple of minutes, I came in and they had throw the rest of my drink and food away! I watched while I was outside on the sidewalk in front of the door ,but by the edge of the curb... I took several photos and the guy working the counter NEVER came back to wait on anyone. However, when I had asked for a container for the meal they remade for me, the waiter became very rude to me in front of every patron in the place. I'm 68 & physically disabled, I was not rude to him in any way, but he felt the need to embarrass me in front of everyone. Now mind you, I was feeling rather vulnerable as I just found out last night by one of my grown children that they are dying of Lupus. I don't understand how for no reason someone chooses to be cruel to a complete stranger. He said I made it harder than it had to be..... I have no idea what he meant, other than I should just except his abusive behavior and leave. When I left there where 2 homeless men close to the restaurant and asked me if I was ok? They were so sweet to me, I gave them the meal Harry had remade for me and thanked them for their concern and wished them a good evening. They touched my heart greatly. The kindness of 5 people tonight keep me from feeling the cruelty of 1. I want to again say thank you to all of them, because they had no idea how heavy my fragile my heart has been since my child call me last night. It looked like a preformed patty and had that distinct good quality old fashioned drive in burger taste. Which I love so I was not disappointed. The pickles were unique and stood out flavor wise. They were almost too much and definitely cut thru everything. Overall, it was a good burger. Someone in our party got the honey chicken and it looked messy. It's counter only and you dump your own trash, so there's not much in the way of servicpertunties, but they were nice and courteous at the front, and the food came quickly and freshly. I had their hamburger. It was good. The meat was fine and well cooked, the bun a regular ball of carbohydrates. Far too much Mayo (I thought it was piles of melted cheese at first). Past the Mayo, it was ok. There's nothing wrong with this place, but there were no fireworks either. Limited menu of burger and chicken, but do what you do well, so that didn't bother me. When I first walked past it, I didn't know what was going on (see photos of decor). Since it is a sister restaurant of carnal, the name was fitting and pretty witty. Not sure what the name carnal means... I know the late 80s/early 90s Latino gangster movies would always refer to their friends as carnal, meaning brother, but then there's also the English word, carnal. In any case, if it is the Spanish slang term then that would be even doper. Everyone in my party enjoyed their food. We got the chopped cheese, a double cheeseburger, spicy fried chicken and I got the honey fried chicken. I didn't like mine- it was just okay. Used to love coming here and I began coming before it was even called Accomplice (spacing on the old name.) There have definitely been ups and downs, and some of the downs are more egregious than others. Forgetting to put $2 roasted chicken mayo in my bag sucks but not as bad as the time they forgot to put the chicken in my Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich. There's also the issue of consistency. While I appreciate that they continually refine their recipes, some of the changes leave me scratching my head. Their once-great Chopped Cheese now has a bun that's completely soaked with grease the last several times I've ordered it. And though they switched to a more tender chicken breast for their sandwiches, it isn't as flavorful as the old sandwich. The problem with the old sandwich was that it was tough at times and made me feel like a caveman gnawing on a piece of leather. And sometimes the burgers are seasoned nicely, and other times they're bland. Today was likely my last visit. I'm happy to give chances, but seeing the cook load fries into their container and simultaneously stuff some of those fries into his mouth is unforgivable. Absolutely disgusting and shameful behavior. No one in the kitchen should be eating the food that will find its way into your customers' bags.
