    Crawfish!!!
    Jacquelyn C.

I need you all to eat here. We need this place to survive. This crawfish I had was a-mazing. The seasoning was out of this world. Everything was cooked perfectly and I can not wait to try more of the food. As someone from the area where creole food is from I am SO EXCITED for these flavors! We have never had anything like this here and you all should try it!!! On top of the incredible food the person at the window was soooo kind. I tried calling and couldn't get through (which is understandable they were super busy) so I send a message on facebook and they were very responsive. When I walked up to the window and said my name he immediately lit up and knew who I was. I am in love with this place. Try it!

The food was sooo delicious We are visiting from out of state and wanted to come try this authentic southern style food and it did not disappoint! The prices are very affordable and the customer service was so awesome. I got no sausage (allergic go pork) on my sea food boil and they were so kind and gave me more of the other options. Absolutely wonderful people!! This is definitely a hole in the wall and can't wait to come back!!

These guys and their food is AWESOME! IF your patient, they make it worth it! They are the take out window next to the seafood market.

This joint is a true hidden gem, hole in the wall! Flavor, quantity, quality and customer service is ALL THERE. I need to emphasize on flavor and the kindness of the owner because he and his authentic NOLA cooking is the reason why we'll be coming back. My husband recently came back from a trip to New Orleans, and he said our meal from Battles trumped his meals in New Orleans. We have huge respect to the chef and owner!

I shared with them that I was purchasing a special treat for my best friend who recently had a tumor from her head. I was watching salmon be fileted right before my eyes. I purchased king salmon freshly harvested by generational Lummi fisherman. Today I traveled to cook this for my friend as she recovers. Embarrassing as it is I called in to ask the best method to cook the salmon and how to tell if it's done. Over the phone I was instructed by a very friendly employee. And what do you know!? The market has a pintrest! My friend and I extend our gratitude for this salmon. There's just something I can't put into words knowing that this harvest is being used for healing. A special thank you to the stewards of the land who have been fishing in the Salish Sea since time immemorial. Muchisimas gracias.

They happily put the game on when we asked and were very attentive throughout our visit, which made a great first impression. I ordered the burger with bacon and blue cheese and requested no condiments. I think there may have been some confusion in the kitchen, as the garnishes were left off as well, but our server promptly brought them out when asked. Unfortunately, the burger itself was overcooked and lacked flavor. The ciabatta roll was only partially toasted, and overall the dish fell a bit flat. The fries, however, were excellent hot, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and absolutely delicious. I don't usually like coated fries, but these were a home run. My dining partner ordered the BLT and said the sandwich was great overall. We also shared the mozzarella sticks appetizer. They were a bit different from traditional mozzarella sticks, thicker cheese with a heavier breading. While they were good, I felt the order should have included six instead of four. Overall, even though we were one of only two tables in the restaurant, we had a great lunch, thanks largely to the excellent service.

The bacon was okay, the eggs tasted like they might have been reconstituted, the English muffin was tough, but the white toast was excellent, thickly cut and toasted just right. The restaurant was clean and though there were lots of people there it wasn't too noisy. I was surprised to see how worn the booth seating was. It was convenient and quick, which fit our morning plans, but we decided to try other spots in town for the rest of our meals.

The dining room was elegant yet cozy, with great lighting. The staff was also very friendly and our waiter was very helpful in aiding our choice. We ordered the Focaccia bread, the salmon momtadito and the tonnarelli as our entree. The focaccia was the only dissapointing item as it was very basic in my opinion, which isn't bad but just nothing exciting to write about. The appetizer, the salmon montadito, was probably my favorite item of the night. It was served on focaccia bread and drizzled with a truffle honey butter and sat upon a mascarapone yogurt. It was elegant and it was incredibly flavorful. The sweetness of the truffle honey butter was a great contrast to the salmon itself, and all melted together to make an exceptional appetizer. The tonnarelli was a pasta dish we split and was also very tasty. The pasta itself was a thicker spaghetti like pasta served with plenty of crab. It was tasty and it satisfied and I'd likely order it again as I will be back when my sister's visit. All in all, a great restaurant to spend a nice night right in the heart of Bellingham!

My companion and I arrived during Happy Hour and these two selections are on that menu, so we had them again--and I guess the utility of this review is to say that these selections continue to be consistently delicious and that this is a wonderful place. We also shared an Afogato--vanilla gelato with decaf espresso poured over! Perfect, quite light after our meal and beautiful enough to paint as a watercolor. This is one of our easy go-to's when looking to dine out. We were happily helped by friendly bartenders, Nicole and Sie, who made great recommendations and great drinks for us. I especially loved the Mario Cicotti cocktail (an interesting variant of an Old Fashioned--including tobacco bitters and charred orange peel!--very interesting). And we enjoyed the beautiful, warm Montepulciano Nicole recommended. And they concocted a surprise drink for my dessert--I can't recall what it was--but it was lovely and came with a bunch of hearts! Consistently wonderful place in all ways, with lots of heart itself. In my opinion, what's not to love?

I decided to try it on a Tuesday. Arrived during the hottest day of the year so far to find a nice cool, clean, classy interior. Was immediately greeted by a friendly hostess who seated me immediately. Restaurant was moderately quiet. Water and menu obtained, I perused the choices and decided Pizza was the thing. The pizza prices were a bit on the high side for a franchise place but the descriptions were promising with some interesting ingredients. Then I spotted it on the bottom of the menu...the Fig Pig. How could I not try it! About 15 minutes later it arrived, I took the first bite and Oh My Lord...when they redo the menu, it needs to be at the top. This is my new favorite pizza in Bellingham. Salty, crispy, meaty and sweet. It hits all the hot buttons. The crust is actually tasty, the pork is perfectly done. It was freaking delicious. Even better, once I finished half the pizza...it was that good...and a box and the check were delivered...the pizza was half off. I called the hostess over to ask if it was a mistake and she said all pizzas are half off on Tuesdays. I now know my Tuesday dinners. I've told a bunch of people now and will be taking my neighbors next Tuesday. Oh and turns out it's not a franchise but a family run restaurant.and it was staring me in the face the entire time. She recommended the Greek pizza--omg! Perfect choice! I admit I do like salty, and some people might have found it so--I thought it was flavorful and perfect. Exquisite, really. I really liked the Caesar salad. It doesn't come across as very fancy as it does in other places, more high-end, but the flavor of the dressing is pungently perfect and I thought puts many I've had to shame. Pleasant place overall. I'm really glad for that one day when I walked across the Bellis Fair parking lot and tried it out.
