After over two hours without hearing from them I called. They stated it was all set and I could come and pick it up. I guess I shouldn't be surprised but when you tell a customer you will call them it looks bad when you don't. Pickup was easy and the phone works great with a new genuine Apple screen on it. They did try to upsell me on a screen protector, which I declined. Since it was an insurance claim there was no charge so it is hard to speak to the value.

Every store I went to and each time I was on a phone chat, I got lots of advice and possible solutions, but all in vain. Finally, I made an appointment with Marcos at ubreakifix in Chandler. He checked out everything and came up with a recommendation about what to say to the current carrier (knowing the lingo helps). I went to the carrier's tech shop here along with copies of chats with other 'experts' and they tried everything they could think of. Then, they took Marcos' advice and the situation was resolved. Moral of the story...these kinds of repair issues can be very frustrating, but going from expert to expert really pays off. Eventually you find the right expert and that I did by going to ubreakifix. Told me it should be done that Saturday after leaving it with them on Thursday. Come Wednesday I just called only to hear it hasn't even been worked or touched due to supposed person working on my device wasn't there Monday or Tuesday and that other peoples devices have been prioritized and now it's looking like "Monday" they say.
