A convenient spot while waiting for my Volvo car service. You'll find the large menu on display at the order counter. I was quick to be waited on although there was only one employee handling the cooking and order counter. I would not consider Wayback burgers to be a Fast Food restaurant, and there was about a 10 minute wait time for my made to order burger. I thought the double patty, Classic burger was yummy. It was dressed exactly as requested, and the onion was crisp and sweet! The skin on fries were hot, crispy with the right amount of salt. My mom is always raving about Wayback Burgers in Lawrenceville, so when I saw a location Nextdoor to my hotel (and I was feeling lazy) I decided to order online and walk over and get it. I wasn't super hungry so I got a kids meal. When I first walked in I knew I was glad I was glad I was not eating in. The restaurant smells very much of hamburgers and I didn't want to have that smell on me all evening. The floors were very slippery and overall I didn't think the dining room was particularly clean. It took a moment to get any attention at the register to tell them I had an order, but when they did they were friendly. I got my order and headed back to my hotel room. The burger itself was fine, nothing special. I only took 3-4 bites before I decided I was done. I can't really speak to the fries because they were actually UNDER cooked. I had a couple before I gave up. If you are at the hotel next door and don't feel like driving to get food, this will suffice. But I would not make this a destination burger spot. read more

Terrible food, but the service is worse! Food is not great, extremely expensive for the quality. It's maybe 20% better than McDonald, but 3x the price. They forgot an item on our pickup order, and could not refund unless in person, so I had to go all the way back. Customer service was beyond nonexistent. Big man behind counter was terribly rude. Never handed me my drink cup. When asked about it he says you left on the counter. There was no cup while I was at the counter. We were left standing there for several minutes without being acknowledged even after he looked right at us, did not say I will be right with you, nothing. We both ordered BACON cheese burgers, neither of us got the bacon, we were not charged for it, but did not get it after asking for it. I got mayo and lettuce on mine and my daughter got mayo, mustard and pickles on hers. When I opened my burger, it was not even a solid patty, it was smashed flat and in pieces, the cheese was the only thing holding it together, same as my daughter's. There was twice the bun compared to meat. The lettuce I got was one solid piece that was so tough I removed it and could not eat it. As for the mayo..... I had to search for it, one drop on the top bun and one drop on the bottom bun. My daughter had about the same amount of mayo, but the mustard was running off and dripping from her burger. The fries were cold and limp. We also ordered cheese curds, which was very good, but ask for ranch dip which we did not get. We spent $29.91 and were both unhappy with the amount and quality of food. The table was sticky, I used my hand sanitizer and a napkin to clean the table. we should have made a complaint, but not sure it would have done any good. I should have taken pictures but didn't think of it at the time. We tried the location on Pooler Parkway a few years ago and it was just as disappointing. This is my first time visiting a wayback burger joint, and I see what all the hype was about. The menu selection was on point between burgers, chicken, milkshakes, and sides. The seating area was kind of small but clean nonetheless. We received a military discount on our order which was surprising. They also had a good selection on drink options I've never seen. There were juice options like mango, pineapple, and strawberry hibiscus. They also had root beer and black cherry soda which were different. I order a hot dog, with mustard ketchup and pickle, with fries and a drink and a side of their house made BBQ chips, and my fiancee ordered a chicken BLT. The hot dog was absolutely delicious, specifically because hot dogs are only edible when the are grilled not boiled. Fiancee reported that the chicken BLT was also absolutely delicious. The only part where I was slightly disappointed, is the house chips. You can order them plain or BBQ flavored, and I went with BBQ. All they did was take the plain chips and suffocate them with some type of BBQ powder. It wasn't the taste I expected I guess. The plain chips were awesome though. read more

I paid 38$ for two burgers, two sides and the chicken fingers, and based off the pictures i figured it was a chain burger joint, and i would receive a nice meal, but i was so wrong. This is McDonald's/burger king with slightly more burger bar type options. The food was smaller than McDonald's and a-little worse quality. I genuinely felt the pictures on the website were dishonest and that wayback burger is taking advantage of customers who have not had it before and don't know how bad they are about to get ripped off. The taste of the burgers was fine and the tenders were just bad but its really the portion and price that are incredibly disproportionate. 38 dollars to feed two people and leave them hungry is insane in this economy. PLEASE do yourself a favor and go to McDonald's and get a single quarter pounder for less than half the price and you will be much happier with the quality and price. And that is a low standard to fail. 1/10 i will go out of my way to tell people to stay away from this place for the rest of my life. At nearly $8 for the double burger you would think it would be hefty but this was on the small side....way small side. It was a1/2 notch above typical fast food burgers but smaller. As a college student, I have found myself ordering here plenty of times. FOOD: I LOVE their bacon double cheese burger. The meat is never dry and their ingredients have always been fresh. Their cod sandwich is also an interesting item on the menu. A close contender to the filet-o-fish at McDonald's, I found this sandwhich also quite satisfying. I did find the amount of lettuce a bit much on the cod sandwich however. PRESENTATION: My food was plated well, or as well as you might expect at a dine in restaurant. They said they couldn't do that because of the Pandemic but gave us a little plastic knife. The onion rings had incredible flavor but were overcooked and the oil looked old. Ordered the fries with no salt. They looked like they were fresh cut. The hot dog was a grilled hot dog that was good size. The chocolate shake was pretty good also. The bill was $23 which seemed a little pricey for fast food. They did have outdoor and indoor socially spaced table. I always look around and am very observant. I first noticed that nobody could sit at the counter even if you wanted to. The staff had purses, jackets and cell phones plugged in charging and not room for much else. My chocolate shake was delivered first and it was delicious. Still observing I noticed the floor was pretty dirty for just opening and the trash area was dusty and very dirty. Here comes my food and it looks amazing. My burger was perfection so delicious and juicy. The onion rings were beer batter and yummy. There is nobody in the store front but myself. Tables are dirty, the napkin dispensers dusty and dirty. Two girls working at the restaurant and they retreat to the counter area to talk and text on their cell phones. I worked in the restaurant food industry and when it's slow you cleaned tables, emptied trash and got ready for the next group! Not these girls they were preoccupied with their cell phones. Food was 100% Cleanliness gets 45%! I'm not sure who owns this establishment but I am certain they need to check in on the shoppe because it's not being maintained daily or at night when closing! I didn't see a clipping in there about the very first Wayback restaurant in Delaware being closed by the health department last month, but I wouldn't expect to. This one was clean and well put together. I don't know about your Wayback, but my Wayback included a Formica kitchen table and an old redwood picnic table that was held together with what I think were tobacco plugs. This Wayback has shiny stainless steel tables. Also, this Wayback didn't have my Dad manning the grill, sipping on a tumbler of Cutty Sark, either. When we were mentioning Calories that are clearly listed on the menu he did say that they were more healthy then Panera bread .( I'm not a fan of Panera .,.and they were next door . Don't stoop guys.
