Delicious!! Out of town for a quick bite to eat, definitely would recommend if you're on your way out to Tybee.

Best burger on the islands. Will be returning for more feta fries! This quaint little grill offers amazing food, friendly service and what we enjoy in a local business, the decor makes you feel at home

I have had my eye on the Corner Grill, and finally got a chance to go after a few months of waiting! The issue was they are not open for dinner on the weekends. This place has the perfect lunch menu. Salads, sandwiches, burgers, what else can you ask for? It's an order at the counter and they bring your food to the table kind of place. I went with a group of about 8 people. They have one large table inside and one large table outside and unfortunately, both tables were taken! We squeezed into a table that was set for 6 I believe. Probably a better place for small groups of 2-3, or single diners, but we were ok at the smaller table. I had the Greek Salad and did not opt for a protein add in, and sweet potato fries on the side. Most of my family ordered a salad, but a few ate burgers and loved them! They are cool with modifications, like if you don't want onion on the salad or no LTO on the burger. All of the vegetables were fresh and crisp. I will be back for sure!

    Pimiento cheese and home fries!

Unbelievably good chicken sandwich. Girl with the glasses up front is the most miserable human to ever grace this earth.

So glad we went to The Laundry Diner on our last morning in Savannah (we were invited by staffer…read moreTyla, whom we'd met elsewhere), because it wound up being one of the best meals we had (and that's saying a lot) on this trip. It's a really pretty, sunny room with a few different seating areas (bar, upstairs, main seating, sidewalk, etc.) just a short Uber (or middling walk) from Downtown. Reasonably priced and totally worth your trip over to check it out. Might be my best breakfast of the year so far, and it's December! Short rib hash bowl was both moist and crispy, just the right side of too salty and had some real zing. Umami, for sure! Yum (my mouth's watering just thinking of it a couple days later)! My wife loved her inexpensive (but perfect) waffle and bacon and her hot toddy was pretty inspired. I grabbed a piece of gingerbread cake for the plane home and that proved to be an inspired idea. Tyla took great care of us, whirling around all the other tables and other staffers. Wow, but the place is hopping. Looking at the inspired menu and especially all the baked goods and shakes, well - right then we made up our minds that we HAD to return to Savannah - to eat more of this! I'm glad I don't live nearby: I'd be as big as a house.

I was really excited to try this new locally owned diner and wanted to love it. Unfortunately, the…read morefood was a big disappointment, especially for the prices. Our server was friendly and helpful, which I appreciated. But the food just didn't deliver. I ordered the turkey club (~$20), which was supposed to have honey mustard. The sauce soaked into the bread and didn't taste like honey mustard at all, making the sandwich hard to eat. We also ordered the steak frites (~$30). The steak was overcooked and had clearly been sliced without resting, so it was tough and lacked juice. The chicken and waffles were also underwhelming--the chicken was bland, and the waffle was soggy inside with a strong cinnamon flavor that tasted undercooked. None of us ended up eating more than a few bites of our meals, which was disappointing given how excited we were to try the place. On the positive side, the marinara served with the mozzarella bites was very good, and the ambiance is cute (though the seating isn't the most comfortable). I really hope they work out the kitchen issues, because it would be great to have a solid locally owned diner here. Right now, though, the food quality just doesn't match the prices.

Erica Davis Lowcountry sits on Victory Drive in Thunderbolt -- a town so small it has exactly one square mile of land and a name borrowed from a lightning strike that supposedly split open a freshwater spring on the Wilmington River bluff. The restaurant itself has a similar origin story: a long-shuttered seafood spot called Teeple's, left empty for years, brought back to life by Erica and Dwight Davis with real care. The gaslight sconces out front stayed. So did the bones of the building. The garage doors open when the weather cooperates. We came in late on a Friday, catching the final stretch of their brunch service. Hannah (I believe) was our server -- in training, which you wouldn't have guessed. She steered us well and managed the table (and the room) with a confidence that didn't feel performed. We started with the Barbecue Shrimp and the Oysters Rockefeller. The barbecue shrimp -- Georgia shrimp in a spiced, rich sauce served with toasts -- was good but the one I'd skip on a return visit. The Oysters Rockefeller are the opposite story: roasted, finished with creamed collards and parmesan, and genuinely one of the better bites I've had in recent memory. Order them. My husband had the Wassaw Redfish -- pan-seared over stone-ground grits with garlic beurre blanc and heirloom tomato. Clean, confident cooking. I had the Sunday fried chicken, which delivered exactly what that dish promises when it's done right. Sides of fresh green beans, South Georgia collards, and Erica's Famous Coleslaw held their own across the board. Dessert was the Key Lime Pie, served in a cup that does not prepare you for how good it is. Tart and creamy in the right proportion. We didn't leave any behind. The family's seafood history in Savannah goes back to 1946. You can feel that kind of depth in a kitchen -- not in any one dramatic bite, but in the steadiness of it all.

She expressed that it was her favorite dish and the favorite dish of many customers. The flavors were great, and interesting. The dish had the potential to be an 8/10 or 9/10, but it was so incredibly salty that it was nearly unbearable. The signature dish was a 6/10, maybe, as a result. If it was fine tuned, it could be a great dish. We also had the Fried Green Tomatoes. Very nice. Would order those again. They were delicious. This is a cool spot, and if they dial in their food, it could be epic. Our waitress was a delight also. Really nice service. 3 stars is justified because, in spite of the good things noted, the core element for any restaurant must be their food and if the Shrimp and Grits is their "signature" dish, they should give it the same attention they give other areas that are going well.

Housed in a beautifully refurbished 18th-century cotton warehouse, the restaurant exudes a warm, historic ambiance with its exposed brick walls and views of the Savannah River. To start, we settled in with drinks from the bar, taking in the rich history of the place. For my entrée, I ordered the much-talked-about Low Country Shrimp and Grits, a choice I did not regret. The dish was phenomenal: plump shrimp and savory andouille sausage were sautéed with sweet red peppers in a rich Cajun spice butter sauce, all served over creamy cheddar cheese grits. The flavors were expertly balanced and incredibly satisfying, easily one of the best versions of this Southern classic I've had.
