My wife and I ate there for lunch a couple of days ago. It had been our first time there in a couple of years. The staff is very friendly. Andrea, our waitress, kept our drinks filled and kept checking on us. The cashier was very friendly. Not the rude one who we have experienced in the past. The food was good. I had the fried chicken, mac & cheese, broccoli bites and turnip greens. My wife had the shepherd's pie, broccoli bites and rice & gravy. Wow. Visited to have the lunch plate... Three choices: small w/2 sides, large w/3 sides, and all you can eat. I had the small with greens, crowder peas, and fried chicken. My wife had the same with Mac and cheese rather than peas. A biscuit or corn bread was included, as was a very tasty piece of cake for dessert- I had the banana cake. The greens were absolutely perfect, and the waitress asked if I wanted pepper vinegar for them. The biscuit was buttery- as biscuits should be with fried chicken!! The star of the plate was the fried chicken. Blisteringly hot, perfectly seasoned and fried. Our waitress was Brooke... Friendly, and she kept our sweet teas full! When we asked if we needed a ticket to present at the register, she said they operate on the honor system. Refreshing! The restaurant is 6 miles off of I-95 in Rincon... This place is amazing! We eat here almost daily. Except on Saturdays, they are closed. The food is country home cooked with a selection of desserts. It's served buffet style with a server. It's open 11-230 daily. It's a must try!! read more

Found this place by accident! Very short list of places to eat near the hotel; expanded search a bit and this looked interesting. Not so big. Family place. Kinda like a cafeteria- where someone serves your selections from a list. Can choose meat entree and pick one to three sides. Price based on that. Includes dessert. Mine included ice tea. Food was really very good! Very nice people. A little confusing at first but we were advised by a customer to get out plates and then sit at any open table and the waitress will get your beverage. Price was very reasonable. I've paid a lot more for a lot less food at other places. Fair number of families were there. Everyone seemed to be enjoying what the got. Oh. There's a little country store as you enter that has local products. read more

Every time I am I Savannah Ga, I tried to visit Ms Jeans. Their lunches are served cafeteria style and some of the best home cooked southern meals! The prices is very reasonable and it includes a drink and their home made desserts. You cannot go wrong with the fried chicken and the Mac and cheese. The food is ok and I would recommend . except today I had to leave before eating (and I was hungry!) because they do not enforce ANY mask wearing or distancing. the family behind me all with no masks, the obese mother kept coughing in the serving line in front of the food servers... no attempt to cover her mouth.. We were so uncomfortable with their blatant disregard for the elderly present (most of the patrons were elders) I and my wife and friends will not be back any time soon, no matter what the food is like! I wasn't overly impressed by the food, the Mac & cheese was bland, green beans were canned & the gravy tasted like onion soup, while the service was friendly the atmosphere need a little more. The cases out front were empty but looked dirty and the store out front was just odd. read more

I live in Texas but visit Georgia a couple times a year. I ALWAYS go to Ms. Jean's at least twice each trip. The food is great, the service fast and friendly, and you can't beat the prices. It's like eating at your southern grandma's house. read more

Best fried chicken I've ever had, and if you're hungry, the big plate is all you can eat. The sweet tea is perfect. The hush puppies are light, not greasy and delicious. We had some errands to run in the area today and found ourselves looking for lunch. I saw this place on yelp and decided to give it a try. It's real southern home cooking. We really enjoyed our meal. It's a small local place and nothing fancy but something really special. We tried the chicken and while it was good, the vegetables are what really won my heart. My only regret is that I wish we had tried the stuffed bell pepper. I'm looking forward to stopping by here again and trying more of their menu. Great for families. Very friendly service. read more

Great southern style food and hospitality! A very busy place and such a pleasant "find" for us! Thank you YELP!! We enjoyed juicy fried chicken, chicken florentine, green beans, corn bread, biscuit, macaroni and cheese almost-as-good-as-mine that's a HUGE compliment (and Ms. Jeans mac n cheese is certainly better than any restaurant I've had macaroni and cheese as most restaurants ruin their mac n cheese). Each dinner comes with your choice of dessert (there were five to select from the day we dined in) and a drink of choice. We chose sweet tea, of course! We will eat here again! We give four stars because there is a cafeteria style feel to the atmosphere, our server was attentive, keeping our glass full and checking to see if we needed anything more. We serve A Taste of Home like grandma use to. We believe in cooking from scratch and using fresh ingredients as often as we can. We offer a family, friendly environment where the locals can always see their neighbor or a life long friend. We also have a Market Place where you can pick up a Ready To Bake Macaroni & Cheese, our Ms. Jean's Original BBQ Sauce, our "Everything Seasoning" blend or a gallon or our award winning sweet tea. We also have unique gift ideas with a local flare. We also offer catering services (seating for 150).

History

Established in 1992.

Ms. Jean (mom) opened Ms. Jean's Restaurant in Springfield in the early 90's and closed in 1999. We reopened it in Rincon on March 13, 2013. Ms. Jean loved to cook and see people enjoying the food she prepared. Her home and table was always open to family, friends and the new family at Sunday Church Service. Mom passed away March of 2015 but we still use her recipes and carry on her legacy. All are welcome at our table.

Meet the Business Owner: Andrea A.

I was in the hospitality industry for 20 years where I had a successful career. I was living in Destin, Fl when my mom was diagnosed with cancer. In October of 2012 I knew the Lord wanted me to move home to be with my mother and reopen Ms. Jean's Restaurant, so I did. I wanted her to go out on top of the world and she did just that. She was able to see the restaurant open and in the two years she was with us, we expanded twice. We wanted her to go out on top of the world, which she did. Family is important to me and we should cherish the time we have each day with them.

Football, bbq, whiskey, beer, or wine is right on time at BowTie. And sure, you can stroll up there in a pair of jeans and a tshirt. The bowtie is optional! I highly recommend BowTie Barbecue. They are local and they are awesome! A piece of Savannah is bowtied in the food.

Yea man, it is good-oud! We decided to dined in, being tortured by the Leopoldo's ice cream case the entire time as our food was prepared fresh because we gave up ice cream for lent. But I have been distracted and stayed from our focus here. Anybody got some ice cream? We covered the ambiance, FatzGirlz's is located in a gas station with a very clean restaurant, concrete floors, and three, two top tables. So dining in has limited seating but is very pleasant. But fret not, they offer carry out meals which are very popular as there was a continuous stream of customers the entire hour and a half we dined that did not stop. Here is why we enjoy going to a restaurant, it's the FOOD! And the food here is savory, tasty, hot, perfectly cooked, and an awesome eating experience. They offered us the best corn bread we have ever eaten topped with a chef recipe Maple and Bourbon topping which tasted fantastic. We ate the Salmon, crabmeat and shrimp and I could not finish it because it was a large portion which almost never happens. So come prepared to eat. My lovely, pristine beauty dining mate had their kissed fried shrimp that were so light, the shrimp floated above the surface of the table waiting patiently as they danced into our mouths. The candied sweet potato's were divine, and the collard greens were perfect. You don't just enjoy this food, you savor every bite! We met our Chef/Owner, her Sister, and our Server who were all a hoot and a lot of fun to talk with in this Family affair restaurant.
