    Onion Soup

I was in the mood for some Japanese food, so I stopped by Wasabi in Georgetown--it's a convenient spot with a nice overall decor that gives off a cozy Asian vibe, though it could use a bit of a refresh and deep clean. The service was friendly and attentive, which helped make the experience enjoyable. I ordered the hibachi steak with scallops, which came with the usual soup, salad, and fried rice. While the portion was generous, the dish leaned more toward a Chinese-style broccoli beef flavor than traditional hibachi--tasty in its own way, but not quite what I expected for Japanese. The scallops were on the smaller side (about quarter-sized and thin), and overall, the entrée felt like it might have been prepped in advance rather than cooked fresh to order. The onion soup was a simple chicken broth, which was comforting but not distinctly Japanese. Prices are a bit on the higher side for the quality and authenticity delivered. If you're craving solid Chinese takeout flavors in a sit-down setting, I'd come back for that--but I'd probably skip it if I'm specifically in the mood for Japanese cuisine. I did enjoy the fortune cookie, got a good laugh out of it.

Lunch Specials include Egg roll, fried rice, soup or salad. Plainly stated.

When a customer order a lunch special entree, don't tell them that it doesn't come with fried rice because it plainly states that all lunch specials come with egg roll, fried rice and soup or salad. Just honor the request and bring fried rice. If you don't want to include fried rice then change the menu. Major fail!

Came in to try something new, was pleasantly surprised by the new dishes. Service was amazing as always. Amber and Henry do a great job at being attentive. The lighting is great as well, not too dark or overly bright. Can't wait to return!

    Calamari

Don't order the calamari appetizer. The 9.95 calamari for 5 small pieces was disheartening. The rest of our meal was par. Really disappointing. wanted it to have improved since our last visit. The service was good.

It never fails! Wasabi's sushi is always so fresh! I come here about twice a month and you can always count on the freshness. Tonight I ordered their fried veggie rolls for the first time and they are to die for! Each order comes with three egg rolls with sweet and sour sauce. The rolls came out so crispy and hot! (Be careful though because they do come out pretty hot and can burn your tongue if you bite into them to quickly). Also note their is a bit of a spicy kick to them as well so if you are adverse to any spice these may not be the rolls for you. I personally love a little spice to my food so my palate was very happy! I also ordered the Dancing Salman roll, the Philly roll as well Salman and tuna sushi. All around delightful! Additionally, the staff is very friendly, humorous and make you feel so welcomed. I have sparked up multiple conversations with members of their team and they put a smile on my face. I always leave happy and full!

    This was my Crab Puff.

I called to order lunch on a weekday only to be told " no lunch menu because it's a holiday". I asked for packets of duck sauce only to be told " oh we don't have that". Very seldom do I order because of previous issue but wanted to try again , and well...... still not impressed.

This is an amazing little gem in Georgetown. I come here at least a couple times a year although I wish I came more often! The sushi is always fresh and full of flavor. If sushi is not your thing, they also have some amazing cooked dishes for those who don't share the love of raw fish. The people here are always really friendly and try really hard to keep you happy. The place is always calm and quiet so it is a good spot to chill. This is a MUST VISIT in Georgetown, especially if you like SUSHI!

Below average food. Soggy fried rice. You get better food quality from Panda Express and I avoid Panda Express.

He was very impressed- the brown sauce was light and delicious, plenty of lo-mein noodles and very tender beef, chicken and tasty shrimp. I order the Szechuan noodles. They were offered with mild, medium or hot spicing. I requested 1 chili peppers worth. It turned out just a little more spicy than I thought it would, but I thought it was very good! My mixed proteins were also super tender and flavorful. The portions were ample and we all will have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. I definitely recommend.

It was tempura shrimp and it wasn't peppery (they just stuck jalapeño slices in there). It tasted fine but it's not what I ordered. I've had this dish many times at other Chinese restaurants and it refers to a specific method of cooking shrimp: lightly battered and crispy, with a strong flavor of black pepper. Surroundings that transport you somewhere, like a villa, to embrace a type of cuisine? Here, I'd say ambiance is a comfortable escape with a kitchen and menu offering quality Japanese fare we all crave. The menu is vast and easy to read as you nestle in the cozy, Japanese themed surroundings. Not fancy. Cozy. You quickly forget the strip mall location and vape shop next door. It's a place to settle in for a spell or a quick, relaxing lunch. The service was extremely friendly, smiling and quick. The sushi was delicious, proper temperature and flavorful. The spicy seasonings were on point and the very spicy is appropriately noted on menu. I'm going back for more exploration, relaxation and `affordable quality.

I was looking at the menu for a while that she came up to me and help explain certain dishes and fan favs or her personal favorites which helped a lot! She's very kind and sweet. It's a quiet little place, but it's quick to fill up. I sat in the right hand corner which is tucked off. I like my spot cause I felt like I was in a noir vibe. So here's a quick lil announcement though. The wait for the apps was short, but the wait for my main dish was 15-20 minutes I don't think my wait is Normally that long but just a heads up. This is the cost of cheap but great quality food. For the appetizers I got the spicy shrimp and the steam chicken dumplings. They both came out really hot so be careful lol. Man the spicy shrimp was very delicious and spicy! But not too spicy for me because I'm use to it but if you're not a spicy veteran this does have a good kick. I loved the sauce and the lettuce, which i used pieces of it to scoop and eat my shrimp in whole. This is a 5/5 recommend The dumplings came out in a pair for like 4-5 dollars I think. It was very hot and soft. The only thing tho was that the meat inside the dumpling was a lil dry compared to a lot of Asian restaurants I've tried BUT it tasted good and was flavor. 4/5. I got the Ox tail Beef broth soup and the Nasi Padang. The ox tail was very good, it has its spices but it's a simple soup with the meat, the potatoes and chopped up tomatoes all thrown into the bowl, with wontons. I used the side chili they gave me, lime into the soup. It was so much to eat for me including the rice with the bowl. Of soup was a lot. Because it was ox the price was a bit high so like 19 which is reasonable. The broth was great, it's simple yet very delectable. The Nasi Padang, was a curry based plate with two types of meat, shredded beef and chicken, two different curry flavors. One was sweet and the other was tangy which was different. It wasn't my favorite but the ox tail definitely beat it. Overall this place was really good and something yall should doif you wanna eat out on budget but good.
