Went for dinner with friends and coworkers. Started at the bar. I had a green tea shot and 2 peach sides cars. The drinks were amazing. Loved almost everything here! We had the Hushpuppies, duck wraps, Salmon Picatta Special for the night, and Catfish Sierra. It was all delicious! We loved the food, the atmosphere, and the view from our seat was beautiful! We loved the live piano! The only issue we had with our dining experience was unfortunately the service. It started off well, but after we received our first drinks from the bar and the food runner brought out our meal, our waiter NEVER returned to our table. He never came by to check on us, make sure everything came out fine, or ask us if we wanted a refill from the bar. I was hoping for a second glass of wine, never got it. He wasn't rude, but he also wasn't very present. So, while our overall experience with the restaurant was wonderful, our service was disappointing. We are very easy going and do not require a lot of attention. But it was lacking. We will go back, hopefully with a little better luck on the service. read more

Nice place w/good food, too bad they ran us off tonight. I have never seen so many people waiting to be seated (40-50 at least). God help you if you didn't have a reservation. Had a 6:30 pm reservation and arrived at 6:20. After waiting around 15 minutes, I asked how long the wait was and they said 30-45 minutes (with a reservation!) At 6:55 my wife said no more and we left. At that time there was barely any place for any new customer to stand at the entrance door. There were telling new customers that the wait would be a "few" minutes. Good thing the fire marshal didn't decide to drop in. I wonder if they exceeded the maximum capacity tonight due to all the waiting customers. Was there to celebrate a birthday. Too bad that didn't work out. Get better! read more

I was in Monroe for a quick business trip and found this restaurant on Yelp. All I have to say is that this place is truly a gem in this town! It's located on a river and has a beautiful outdoor area. The restaurant itself is an old converted warehouse with many of its original structural pieces in place. It was absolutely gorgeous inside. I was dining alone so I had no issues getting seated, but if you are with a larger party I would suggest reservations. It was very busy for a weekday evening. The waitress and hostess were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered way more than my stomach could handle, but everything on the menu sounded so good! The fried green tomatoes were perfectly seasoned and had a perfect tomato to breading ratio. The grilled shrimp and asparagus were also fantastic and came with some sort of Mango salsa that blew my mind. Even the hush puppies that were brought to the table like a bread basket were perfect. Seriously the best hush puppies I've ever had and I've grown up in the south! If I ever get a chance to come Back into Monroe, I will definitely be back. I cannot say enough good things here to really explain how excellent this place is for dinner! We had a large group so we worked closely with Drew, the Service Manager, in preparation. We used a Set Menu because it was a celebration and easier on the hosts (us!) than having everyone order from the main menu. Every bite of everything we ordered was delicious! You can sit on the heated and cooled patio while you enjoy drinks and crab cakes, catfish bites, or my favorite fried green tomatoes. Or you can sit inside and listen to live piano music. One of my favorite things are the hot hush puppies that they serve while your food is prepared. I would love to stick a few in my purse, but I don't want to look like one of those crazy women in the movies. Then you can select any entree and be guaranteed a quality dish. My favorite is the Catfish Acadiana - what's not to like about grilled catfish with a cream sauce topped by shrimp. I have never had a bad meal. I want to have two favorites because I think that the crab cakes are amazing! My husband loves the grilled catfish or the steak. If you are celebrating an occasion like a birthday, the staff takes your picture and brings you a free piece of cheesecake. I am usually too full for dessert.
