    Bread pudding

I was in town and I was trying to find a Cajun food place. I stopped in around 2 pm after the lunch rush. There were a few people eating in here and I had a choice of seating but chose to stay inside where the ac was on. Service was great and I decided to go with eating three cups so I can have a variety. It would have been nice for a dish available for multiple items like the soups dishes. They were all good, the gumbo a little dry and gummy like it was sitting and the garlic bread was cold. I had to try the bread pudding with the whiskey sauce. It was good but a huge portion. I was flying back so I couldn't take it with me. It was a good lunch and satisfied my Louisiana craving. I think sitting out would have been nice but it was hot for me and chose to stay inside where it was cooler.

Wow. We had a delicious steak dinner overlooking the River. Turns out this historic fish market turned restaurant served up some really tasty eats. Being from the Lafayette area, it's rare to find a restaurant this much like home outside Acadiana. Turns out its roots are in New Iberia! The steak was cooked to order, sides were on point, & the marg was refreshing. (Our server was sweet and helpful too.)

Seafood platter: blackened catfish, seafood pockets, blackened shrimp, boiled shrimp, crawfish étouffée, fire roasted corn.

Totally excellent experience! The food, service and price were all excellent! The seafood platter was delicious!

Liked the location next to the river. The food was okay. The garlic bread was room temperature which was disappointing. The boudin stuffed chicken wasn't a good combination in my opinion. Young lady that served us did a good job.

this joint for dinner on our way back home. It was early for dinner so we were seated quickly. We started with fried banana peppers... spicy! I ordered Nic's creole sampler, which gave us several different bits...all delicious. Gumbo, jambalaya and shrimp/crab/corn bisque were also ordered. Everything tasted like LA, as it should. By the time we finished, the joint was slammed. A musician was setting up to do a gig, but we didn't get a chance to listen. When we come through this way again, we're stopping here for sure!

I don't know what I was expecting, but Trapp's far exceeded it. I sat on the back patio with a view of the river and city lights. I started with fried banana peppers and roulade sauce, then moved on to the boudin-stuffed chicken breast topped with more roulade sauce. Every bite was delicious, and the staff was very nice and attentive. I'll be back in town this week and will be making a second visit with colleagues in tow.

Sides were good. Cocktail sauce is super spicy.

Good Location right on the river. Easy to find and park. We got the Lunch Shrimp Platter. Shrimp was good and not spicy. Homemade Mashed potatoes is good and fresh. The spiciness comes with the asparagus. Good well but too hot for us. The atmosphere is nice and has that river feel to it. Looked like there was plenty of waitstaff and ours were super sweet and attentive. (Abby). Price is right for what you get too. You can eat inside or outside on the covered patio. It is worth a stop.

What an awesome place with really nice servers. Our waitress was as kind and sweet as the tea. The nachos were huge $18.99- so big we didn't order dinner. Note there is a lunch portion sixe you can order. The chips are fresh and the seafood is not skimpy. Let me tell you those nachos would feed four adults. We opted for some cup size gumbo $8 and jambalaya $8. I thought the two mixed together would be amazing. I liked the gumbo a lot it had a ton of flavor. The jambalaya was good but on the dry side and a tad salty. I did order a $12 spicy bloody mary with all the fixes- fixes is 2 olives and a lime and a lemon. We did order bread pudding $8 and cheesecake also $8 to go. They have an inside and an outside seating (with heaters). The bread pudding I would get again, a ton of cinnamon flavor. I would pass on the cheesecake (dry and not a ton of flavor even with the caramel). The place is very casual and dinners from all walks of life. Definitely will be back here once we move.

Upon entering, I found the interior decor to be rather average and understated but do not let that fool you for a single moment. The true piece de resistance is the spectacular view of the Ouachita River just on the other side. It is absolutely magnificent, providing the most glorious backdrop that would be utterly perfect for an elegant evening out, a romantic date, or a refined family gathering. While the setting isn't overly fancy, the natural beauty of the river paired with the immense warmth of the staff makes it incredibly special. To commence our meal, I opted for a classic, perfectly chilled Martini, while my partner ordered the Watermelon Breeze both were thoroughly refreshing. As we sat chatting and taking in the scenery, we ordered the Shrimp and Grits along with a side of hush puppies. When the cuisine arrived, it was an absolute triumph. The flavors were entirely delicious, capturing the very best of Southern comfort. Between the breathtaking view, the flawless hospitality, and the exceptional food, this establishment is a true treasure. It deserves every bit of its five stars, and I shall most certainly be returning

Must ask for extra :-) They have like eight different sauces for dipping. For our entrée we had Catfish Orleans. Oh my gosh, we chose fried catfish filets, instead of blackened baked, served over rice, topped with crawfish étouffée, and hand-battered shrimp. So delicious. I will be ordering that again. Great service the minute we walked in by the hostess, waitress, and food staff delivery to our table.
