Everything here had great flavor! The ladies behind the counter were very helpful as this was my first time and allowed me to taste one of the crawfish before ordering! The corn was extremely sweet and the kernels were crisp. The potatoes were nice and soft but not over mushy. The crab legs were cooked very well, snapping in each place, and the meat pulled outout whole. The shrimp, my daughter said, was better than she's tasted at any other place locally. The only reason for the four stars, rather than the five is the cleanliness of the bathroom and the difficulty of getting out of the parking area. Taste of food deserves four stars but too many downfalls for us to go back! First the restaurant was totally empty at 12:30 on a Friday, should have been a clue. Young girl working wasn't very helpful in suggesting anything even after we informed her we had never been there before. Prices were crazy expensive! $109 for lunch for four adults and a child! Two adults shared a meal! If she had made suggestions on how to order, we could have saved about $15 after studying the menu! Only bottled drinks so no refills. Would have been nice to have water because everything was spicy! Worst part was we ordered crab legs and she failed to tell us they don't have utensils! No metal crab crackers or small forks to dig it out with! I cut my hand trying to open them! All they had were to go packaged plastic silverware which broke every time we tried to use with crab! The crab did not slide out in whole pieces at all so it was a hard mess to eat!! Corn was over cooked and hard. Shrimp and Potatoes were great. Don't pay extra for egg, crab, or sausage. Everything is already cooked sitting in hot water. Not cooked to order. Also their bathroom sink didn't work and only one side of faucet worked on the extra sink IN the restaurant. Had to ask for toilet paper. Not the cleanest place. Very pleased with the Christian music playing!!! read more

Noticing that the dining chairs were all being put for up for night, we cracked the door open and stood gingerly behind it as we asked if they were still open? "Sure! The dining area is closed but come on in!" Complete newbies to Louisiana food, we asked for suggestions, especially since we had some kids looking skeptically at the buffet options. Talk about "Southern hospitality"!--the ladies behind the counter truly took care of us, giving helpful suggestions and throwing in a few extras because we were visiting the area. And then, even though the dining area was closed, she offered it to us (a family of 7) again because she said, "we want to make sure we take care of people who aren't from around here." Take care of us they did! The food was so delicious it converted three of my five children to Cajun cuisine--quite an impressive feat. I'm in town for the night and was craving a good Louisiana Boil and BOY did Sammy's deliver! Sammy's is simply untouched in terms of a seafood restaurant. It's Tuesday night after Valentine's Day and they was still a line inside and I completely see why! I ordered the small crab&shrimp and it was anything but small. I am very delighted in the price for what I got, and the quality of food. It included 1 corn, 1 potato, 1 egg, 1 crab (which as you can see was a few legs) and 10 pieces of jumbo shrimp. The shrimp was deveined but still in the shell, and the crab legs were not lacking. Everything was seasoned so well. The staff was friendly and it was overall a fantastic experience. I wish I could give this place 10 out of 5 stars. I will say it seems to be more of a "to-go" place, which is totally fine because that's what i was going to do anyway, but there are tables and chairs around inside and out. The people working there were not friendly, starting with the girl that took our order, to the girl serving the trays. Since this was our first time we weren't sure how to order, and they acted very annoyed with me asking. Also, I want to know how people eat crab legs without the right utensil to crack them????
