Beware - music is very loud! Not a quiet peaceful place if that's what you are looking for. (However, takeout is definitely an option.) No question this location is sports related with all the decorations on the walls. Great bar area seating if you don't want a table or booth. Lots of seating. Restrooms clean. Menu - huge selection! My cousin, Larry Joe and I had crispy, perfectly fried onion rings with spicy ranch, ranch with Sriracha sauce, and Boom Boom sauce, cocktail sauce mixed with mayonnaise, which was soooo good. Must ask for extra :-) They have like eight different sauces for dipping. For our entrée we had Catfish Orleans. Oh my gosh, we chose fried catfish filets, instead of blackened baked, served over rice, topped with crawfish étouffée, and hand-battered shrimp. So delicious. I will be ordering that again. Great service the minute we walked in by the hostess, waitress, and food staff delivery to our table. Cool place if you like to watch sports. There is a TV with every sport going and they have music pumping loud. Our server Ainsley was very sweet and attentive. She took our order and it came out within ten minutes. Here is where it goes down hill - the food sucked. The gumbo was beyond salty - so much so we didn't eat it. The cajondillas were incredibly dry - how do you have a quisadilla with next to no cheese? Good thing it came with a dipping sauce which was the only way to get it down. The red beans and rice that came with it was actually good and the side salad was fresh. I think this is a place where you order a bunch of drinks and it will make your food taste better. We will give it another shot sometime and try something different as they do have a large menu of sandwiches, burgers, steak and salads. First off, it was Friday night at 7:30 PM and there was absolutely no wait! Hello!! But they were busy and pretty packed. The atmosphere was fun, there was a great vibe in the place, there were couples and families, very diverse. The overall is very casual and laid-back. Great for our evening. This being my first time, I took the suggestion of my friend and ordered the Catfish Atchafalaya; Blackened. This was served over crawfish, étouffée and rice. Absolutely delicious! It also had fried shrimp. Everything about this dish was amazing. And the portion size was so big I couldn't finish it! Our server was very attentive and took care of us. We had a wonderful evening. This has to be the worst Walk on's location in existence. Stopped there late last night, in fact the only reason I decided on Walk on's is because it was the only place open. The first thing I noticed was how dirty the place was. I went to the restrooms before sitting at the bar and I almost slipped and fell because water from the kitchen was being tracked into the restroom area and parts of the dining area. A Personal injury lawyer would have field day here. Once I sat at the bar, the young girl behind the bar just looked at me and it took a good ten minutes before she realized that I was there to eat and not just there to watch the game. After finally ordering a beer, it took her almost ten minutes to pour a draught beer without a 3 inch layer of foam. It took a good 25 minutes to get a bowl of gumbo...how??? I couldn't wait to get out of there. This place needs attention. read more

The food was really good. Staff was friendly. Fun sports bar atmosphere. The only things that kept it from a 5 star were that the prices were too high for some things compared to other places and that I ordered a drink but I would have had to wait 30 minutes for the machine to "freeze". Had such a great experience at Walk-On's in West Monroe recently, and a huge part of that was thanks to our server, Nariah! From the moment we sat down, she was incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. She was super friendly, attentive, and had great timing -- always there when we needed something, but never hovering. Nariah had such great conversation skills, she was so personable and fun to talk to! She even helped us pick a few menu items we hadn't tried before (which were delicious) and made sure our drinks stayed full the whole time. Just a really smooth, professional, and enjoyable experience all around. Honestly, Nariah is one of the best servers I've had in a long time. We went today what a mess..... They sat us down on a table that wasn't cleaned than got drinks for 2 others that came in after us and totally ignored us! Typical sports bar atmosphere, service was phenomenal. Our server Sydney was so attentive and stayed on top of things, additionally to making some amazing dessert recommendations. Now on to the food, my husband ended up having the po boy with the side of gumbo and said he really enjoyed the flavor of it all, kids had shrimp and grilled cheese and well what can you say about those..... I must add the kids shrimp was really delicious and not dry at all. The one thing I was not a fan of was unfortunately for me, my plate which was the gator tacos! The tortilla was cold and you couldn't really taste the gator due to the overwhelming amount of cheese it had. Last but not least, unfortunately not pictured was the beignets and banana bread pudding I believe, both of those were so delicious specially that last one! So warm and sweet, perfect to close our outing. Aside from that we really enjoyed our stop and would recommend this spot for anyone that is looking for a quick grab. read more

But I can see why this is located on "Basic St" The service was decent, had multiple waiters/waitresses, the ones not ours would drop stuff off without any followup. Ok, I get it, you did them a favor. The pasta alfredo with blackened chicken - maybe don't dump the chicken straight onto the pasta from the skillet? I definitely would not recommend this restaurant. We had went in with some friends of mine to eat in. Minimal crowd not too busy but we waited over 30 minutes to get our food then when the food came the order was wrong when we made the waitress aware, and the manager they advise there was no refund. We were not asking for a refund. We wanted our order to be made correctly. They advised they still could not do that, but we were more than welcome to order something new. I highly recommend not going to this place and spending your money somewhere else where at least they will get the order correct. My two coworkers are from out of town and never been to a Walk On's so we came here for lunch. I had the Shrimp and Corn Bisque and the Boom Boom Shrimp. One coworker had the Spinach & Artichoke Dip and Louisiana Seafood platter. My other coworkers got the Cheese Log and Chicken Pasta Alfredeaux. We all share our appetizer. My Boom Boom Shrimp was so good. We all decided that the Boom boom shrimp outshines the other appetizers but don't get me wrong, all the appetizer was good also. I've had better Shrimp and Corn Bisque back home but if anyone never had it before to compare to, it's good. My two coworkers enjoyed their food except the hushpuppies on the seafood platter. Excellent family dinner, except my food came out when everyone was almost done eating (the server said that the onion rings took an extra 20 minutes). We had a good time, my children loved that their meals came on take home frisbees. They didn't love that I was picking on their plates attempting to nosh while I waited for my food. Before Christmas, I came in to purchase 2 $50 gift card for Christmas. I used my credit card to purchase these and signed the screen at the front desk to authorize the purchase. I did not add a tip to the purchase because it was gift cards and required little service. When I left, I was busy getting the cards in their envelopes and putting away my credit card and receipt. Fast forward to January when I was reconciling my credit card statement. Imagine my surprise when I discovered a tip of $18.00 had been added to my $100.00 purchase. If I had eaten a $100 meal, I would have certainly left a 20% tip. However, for the tip to be added without my knowledge or approval feels like stealing. read more

Service was great. Alligator app was cooked well but greasy. It wasn't rubbery like many places would be. The chicken berry pecan salad looked amazing but failed on many levels. The chicken was obviously cooked early and freezing cold. There was way to much dressing as it was doing the rest of ingredients were doing the back stroke to stop from drowning. It would have been great if the chicken was warm and I ordered the dressing on the side. Beer was ice cold and a great selection. read more

Food was mid, servers were rude. Our order was wrong for almost every one of us. We spent too much money for how much food we got.

Needed a supper stop after a full day of travel, and this was a new place for us to try during our trip through Louisiana. Tried to order a drink, but the waitress thought they were out of it, then told us they had it, and then came back 5 minutes later to report they actually didn't. Ordered Boudin Balls for the appetizer, and they were very good. When it came time to order, they were out of the shrimp and grits entree (which from reading other reviews and having the experience with the drink order seems to be a running theme of this restaurant...being out of things). So we ordered a Cajundilla and a Pepperjack Burger. The burger was good, but the Cajundillas were extremely spicy to the point I wanted to stop eating them halfway through the meal (if you order this fish be prepared for the heat!). The red beans and rice side dish was the best part of the meal and the saving grace of that dish. Finished off the meal with the Krispy Kreme bread pudding which on paper sounds incredible but in execution was lacking. Finally, while friendly when she was actually at the table, our waitress was much more interested in chatting and flirting with the table of college guys seated next to us. For me, this experience is best summarized as way overpriced for average food--especially when two items on the menu that we wanted to order were not even available during this visit. Having eaten here, it was okay, but it's not a place I was wowed by that I'd intentionally seek out again for another visit. read more

Passing thru West Monroe LA and found this place for a late lunch. Would have been 5 stars but it is incredibly noisy... bad acoustics... like Buffalo Wild Wings loud. Three of us and we all ordered different things. The food was phenomenal. I had the Chicken Berry Salad which is huge. Under normal circumstances I would never be able to finish it but it was so good I did. The Lemon Butter Chicken was also a hit. I don't know what the third item was but it was big and juicy and messy and our pixey of a granddaughter ate every bite. read more

We ordered a Coke Zero and it tasted very odd, like it was mixed with poop or swamp water. This is Louisiana and everything smells like swamp water, but I didn't realize that it's in the ice and soft drink mixture. Our server was really nice and attentive, she came by and checked on us often. The food was okay...I mean, it's just bar food...nothing special. I ordered the boneless wings, the spicy BBQ flavor. It has no trace of BBQ flavor at all, but it was a good sauce. My husband enjoyed his Gator Wrap and liked the waffle fries. The hostesses (there were 3 of them) all need some smiling training, because they greeted my husband and I with RBFs. It was evident that they've never seen an Asian person before. Luckily our server was sweet, and it made up for their poor service. I knocked off 2 stars for the swamp poop Coke Zero and for the RFBs host ladies.
