Once I started to eat it, it was slathered in mayo and there were very few shrimp on it. The few that were supplied were tasty.The fries were cold. I ate about half my meal and left all the fries. No one ever checked on me or asked if I wanted a refill in my drink. This place has potential if the employees cared. I won't be returning when in the area. Our table of 10 included people who drove from Jackson, Bossier City, Alexandria, and Many specifically to eat at Mayeaux's, a family favorite for special occasions since they first opened. The food tasted good, but every entree brought to the table was served lukewarm, only slightly above room temperature. None of us said anything at the table, each thinking it was only our plate and not wanting to spoil our get together. When talking about our dinner later in the evening, we found that we all had the same experience. They were busy as usual for a Saturday night, but nothing out of the ordinary. The Catfish was good, crispy and they gave A LOT as well shared this one. The sides were not worth getting. We are from STL so we are used to onion , pickle and a slice of white bread - that would've made the meal a little better.
