This spot wasn't terrible, but it definitely wasn't for me. The young man working the bar was really kind, which I appreciated, but overall the vibe felt very "deep South"and not in a way that felt welcoming to someone who looks like me. I was just passing through, heading to my hotel while traveling for work, and stopped in because it's super convenient right off the feeder road near downtown. The food was okay, nothing special. I got the sense that it's probably popular with locals, but personally, I didn't feel super comfortable and probably wouldn't go back or recommend it. Recommended for a dinner meeting Beau Vines is set back off the service road and if you didn't know of the place you'd certainly miss out Nice dark woods inside and a large open dining area with a smaller private room attached. I chose the wedge salad as an app, grilled chicken breast (i know they are known for steak but I wasn't too hungry) and for my side I went with scalloped potatoes All portions were large without sacrificing the quality. Great spot for a nicer meal in the Ruston area. Big fan of the chefs pasta! The Oreo beignets are also a hit. The staff and service are always phenomenal and incredibly friendly. The menu has a nice range of options at affordable prices. You can make reservations as well which is nice. They have a bar area and a main dining area. Amazing steak house ! My husband and I took our daughter to dinner here to celebrate her senior weekend at LA Tech. We didn't have reservations but they were able to seat us right away. We started with fried calamari, crab cakes and the seared ahi appetizer to go with our cocktails. We really enjoyed all three dishes. We also enjoyed their signature cocktails. The Smores martini was like dessert and the Blueberry Sour Gin Fizz was refreshing and smooth. My daughter and I shared their signature ribeye which was a huge 24 oz thick cut steak. It comes with either fries or baked potatoe which we upgraded to the au Gratin scalloped potatoes and also added the sauteed mushroom and creamed spinach sides to share. Those mushrooms were so delicious and paired perfectly with their steak. My husband got the filet mignon and he thoroughly enjoyed it too. It was melt in your mouth tender and perfectly seasoned too. Too bad we were too full to order dessert. This was one of the best meals we had while in Ruston! Our servers were very nice and attentive and the hotess was welcoming and friendly. read more

Restaurant was as I expected. Upper scale steak house with friendly staff, service, prices, etc. Waiter took our order by memory, but someone forgot to make it along the way. We waited an hour and fifteen minutes before getting our food. We had to bring it to their attention but they never came clean on their mistake nor did they apologize. We were in from out of town. We came in on Sat 9/10/22 at about 6 and were seated immediately. The hostess, as well as the entire staff, is well trained in customer satisfaction. The food was really good. My picky 12yo got the filet tip appetizer and loved it. I had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich made with filet. It was a pleasant surprise. My wife had the bacon burger and she liked it. She rarely has anything good to say about food. She ate the whole thing. The tea was sweet and the place runs smoothly. The husband is a steak lover, so we thought we'd give Beau Vines a try while in Ruston (for a training session). We were NOT disappointed to say the least. From start to finish, we had a fantastic experience. The overall ambience, friendly and accommodating staff, followed by a wonderful meal made this worthy of a five star rating. My husband had the 12 Oz ribeye with fries while I opted for the pork chop over apple mash with the bleu cheese wedge. Our other dining companion ordered the 12 Oz ribeye as well - along with au gratin potatoes. For dessert, I had crème brûlée which was small; however after the large meal I had just consumed, it was the perfect portion size for me. I made sure to subtly pull that entire plate towards me and may have eaten every tuna slice when no one was looking. Everything on their menu, even the sides, were deliciously flirtatious. Bacon-wrapped green beans? Yes, please. Twice-baked potato? Once-baked was good enough, but why not? Filet mignon bites stuffed with cream cheese, jalapeno, and wrapped with bacon? I hate to fault a place with great food, but the service was horrible on the night we ate at the restaurant. Most of our party, which was 9 people, only got their one glass of tea they ordered and we were there for an hour and 45 minutes. Our server was at our table for a total of about 3 minutes of that time with most of the time standing by other staff conversing instead of asking tables how they were doing. He also was having trouble with other tables as he struggled to remember which tables ordered certain dishes such as birthday desserts bringing them to us instead, and we sent it back informing him of this. The atmosphere was great and once again the food was amazing, but the overall experience was not great due to the service. read more

Started with the peppery and superb housemade gumbo, we ordered a 2nd cup. I had the bone in NY strip which was cooked exactly medium rare but it was either coated or marinated in a very strong marinade and totally unnecessary, leave it alone next time. We also had a wedge salad and filet(same overpowering marinade)entree and it was basically an entire head of lettuce, covered in delicious blue cheese dressing and crumbles. It was good, enough for 4 people and a bit overwhelming. Wine list a real disappointment and filled with mid to low end Calif plonk. We'd go back just for the gumbo! read more

This was my first time at Beau Vines and it was absolutely perfect. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing, the service was fantastic, the meal was probably one of the best I've ever had. The salad dressing is made right there in house and had a wonderful hint of dill. The French Cut Pork Chop melts in your mouth and has the best flavor. VERY NOISY and they put WAY TOO MUCH seasoning on their steak. Plus, I'm pretty sure they use MSG or some type of chemical meat tenderizer! I am MSG sensitive and something I ate there made me sick to my stomach. I know...I should have asked. I ordered the filet mignon and they overcooked it. My husband can grill a pretty mean FM with very little seasoning so you can actually taste the meat...not just salt. So I'm a little spoiled. We have also learned from experience to NEVER freeze steaks. The texture is not the same. The texture of the FM I ordered was pithy as if it had been frozen but I REALLY hate to send back food! I ate here at my son's request but I won't be back. I'd prefer to grill at home. read more

Nice little steak house! Stopped in while I was in town for business. Had the special 16oz ribeye with baked potato and it was delicious. Meat was cooked perfectly. During my stay in Ruston LA serval people recommended we check out "Bovines" steakhouse. After a search on Yelp and a good laugh we realized it was "Beau Vines." It's located off RT20 behind the drive thru liquor store and in front of the sports bar. We sat at the bar and had cocktails- the bartender was extremely friendly and make a good drink. Food: Wedge salad - standard Side - creamed spinach & potatoes au gratin - not traditional but I made a meal out of it as the pork was too salty for my taste. Stuffed beignets are amazing- I would got back to just have them again paired with chocolate martini! Nice place if you're in the neighborhood. read more
