Good food and service, clean, and staffed well with employees with good attitudes. Food tastes good and cooked well.

Most of the food was good especially the boudin egg rolls and Po Boys, but the shaved Brussel sprout salad was not all brussel sprouts. When asked if it was all Brussel sprouts, Haley, our server, reassured me it was ALL shaved Brussel sprouts. It was obviously iceberg lettace mostly with some Brussel sprouts. However, when I did find a Brussel sprout, there was brown on them . There was a small market for food to take home, but the two ladies in there took 5 minutes to acknowledge us and acted like they couldn't operate the telephone. ‍ The wait staff was not mean, but not nice. She didn't say thank you for coming or come back, but placed our check on the table and walked off. Not sure if all of Louisiana is this way or just this Log Cabin. read more

The chicken was really well done with great flavor, and the portion sizes were plenty for pretty much anyone. We were fed within 15 minutes of arrival, even with 7 people at our table. It was a fun place with a relatively unique atmosphere, well made food, and overall well worth a second visit. read more

Log Cabin Grill & Market - Chicken Spinach Quesodilla - Tex-Mex Near Me - Ruston, Louisiana

Fantastic spot! We were short on time and chose this place because it was nearby -- and we're so glad we did. We were seated immediately, and the staff couldn't have been more friendly and polite. We started with the chips and cheese with chicken. I was expecting nachos, so I had a little "aha" moment when it arrived -- just like the menu said, it was chips with a cup of cheesy dip, and it was delicious. For my meal, I had the half rack of ribs with a side salad and baked beans. The salad didn't look particularly exciting, but it was fresh and flavorful. The baked beans were possibly the best I've ever had, and the ribs were tender and tasty. I only wish we hadn't been in such a rush -- I would have loved to savor it all a bit more. We're already planning to come back before we leave Ruston! read more

Log Cabin Grill & Market - 1/2 rack of ribs, sorry I already ate the beans! - Tex-Mex Near Me - Ruston, Louisiana

My husband picked up the Chicken Potpie for a gathering of 6 adults. The instructions were not specific on how to cook it from frozen versus thawed and since he purchased it frozen, he assumed the directions were for it being frozen. Well, it was STILL frozen when he took it out of the oven and the rest of the meal was ready. So, that was disappointing! But not as disappointing as the taste of the Chicken Potpie. I have never purchased this meal at the restaurant, so I had know what I was getting. It is basically canned cream of chicken soup (or taste like it) over a bag of frozen vegetables with a little bit of dry, chewy chunks of chicken thrown in and topped with cooked Grand biscuits, broken up pieces and crumbs. It was very unappealing to look at and even worse to eat. For that price I expected much more quality and quantity. Never again! read more

I was very confused by the "Tex-mex, BBQ, and Steaks". The menu was really large and in my experience that isn't always best. I have found less menu items but better quality is always better. Everything was just ok. read more

We usually enjoy our meals at this establishment, which is why we don't mind making the 30 minute drive over. Unfortunately, our experience last night was not one we would want to repeat. Knowing if we didn't get there for dinner early, we would have a wait on our hands, we got there around 5 pm. From the minute we walked in the door, we felt rushed. While service was prompt and the waitress was nice, she just became annoying with her push for us to order. We no sooner ordered our steak fajitas, then out they came, tasting barely warm, old and reheated. The chips were stale. Even our grilled vegetables weren't very warm. Overall, a very disappointing experience for what we paid. I am sure we will be back at some point, and hopefully the food will be better. read more

We stopped in while traveling through and so glad we did. I had the hamburger steak with mashed potatoes and gravy and it was delicious, had to carry 1/2 home because it was so much. My man had the pork chop and potatoes and was happy too. The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly. We stopped to shop on way out and got both chicken and pork cracklings read more

The food and service was great! Everything was reasonably priced! We will be back. The cabin debris fries were the best!

Great service great food wonderful location on the river. I'll make this a regular stop in our travels.

If you are in Ruston, LA, passing through, or close enough to make a roadtrip, it would be well worth the time & money to stop and eat at the locally owned Log Cabin Grill. It's a family-friendly atmosphere, almost like a throwback to years gone by, where everybody knows each other & make strangers (like myself) feel at home. They were extremely busy, and you could tell, but it never phased the staff. I was very impressed with how they maintained their positive demeanor, gave amazing service (appreciative for you coming there), and always made sure I didn't run out of my Coke Zero. If you are lucky enough to have a sweet young lady named Isabella to wait on you, consider yourself lucky. She is an absolute sweetheart! Now, as for the food...WOW!!! I had the Cabin Trio because I've started a carnivore diet, it was (3) grilled shrimps, chicken breast, & a small ribeye...covered in sautéed squash, zucchini, and broccoli...no additional sides for me. Shrimp perfectly cooked, chicken was juicy, the steak (medium) could be cut with a fork, and I may or may not have had some sautéed veggies (perfectly seasoned). Beyond a great dining experience & I greatly appreciated the Coke Zero to go, Isabella! read more

Some of the greatest food you'll ever eat!! Friendly fast service and great atmosphere.

Dropped by during a family road trip. Arrived at 7 PM on a Thursday night and they said there's a 40 min wait. Obviously this place is popular with the locals. We had thought about ordering to-go, but they said the food would probably take at least 30 min to cook. So, we decided to dine-in. We were texted after a 30 min wait. Was seated immediately and after getting our drinks we ordered. There is quite a selection of food on their menu with prices being fairly reasonable. Cooks must've been swamped because it took 30 min for our food to come. Serving sizes are quite large and service is friendly. read more

A very popular spot in Ruston that we don't even try to go to normally because the wait times are absurd. We (party of 2) were lucky to arrive for Saturday lunch at around 10:55am and were seated immediately. Our waitress greeted us promptly and once we ordered, food didn't take too long. My friend got the chicken enchiladas which she said were just okay and on the tough side. For me, the mesquite grill is where it's at. I don't believe there is anything else like it in Ruston. I got the loaded hamburger steak with hand cut fries. Good, but again, not really worth standing around to wait for it. Also a little on the expensive side. $44 all together is too much for what you're getting here (2 meals, 1 drink, +tax & tip), but we'll be back again sometime when the parking lot is empty. read more

First off, the food is good. No denying that. My issues is the lack of checks and balances on the take-out orders. Recently ordered food for four people (gave up on the on-line ordering. Had to call in). The woman who answered the phone kept interrupting my wife as she was giving the order to do something away from the phone so my wife wasn't sure if she had gotten the previous order down when asking for the next order when she came back to the phone. The existing order include two (2) sandwich meals which included a side for each. The woman taking the order asked which side was wanted and was told. A third order included a sandwich with au jus sauce. When the order was picked-up, it was recommended by the woman behind the counter to double-check the order to make sure everything was there. In leu of opening every container there on the counter, I checked the ticket and the ticket matched up on what I was told was ordered. When getting back to the house which was across town from the restaurant, it was discovered that the two (2) sides with the sandwich meals had not been included and the au jus sauce had not be included. As much as I hated it, I got back in my vehicle and went back to the restaurant. Once there I explained the issues and showing my receipt, I expected them to get the sides and the au jus sauce and let me be on my way. I was then informed that the sides were never ordered based on what the ticket said. The young woman then asked me if I wanted my sides and I'm thinking I wouldn't drive across town just to not get what I thought had been ordered. I told her yes and she told the girls to ring me up for two sides and then apologized for the au jus sauce. Unfortunately for me, I was not returned my original receipts to see if I had been originally charged for my sides and didn't think about it until I had returned home. After waiting a few minutes for my sides to be cooked(?), they brought them out and I drove back across town to eat my now, cold sandwich and hot side with my family. My point to all this is that the restaurant personnel recommended to me to check my order (has this happened before with items being left off?) which I did with the receipt. Yes I share some blame by not opening every container on the countertop to make sure everything was there but shouldn't they restaurant share some blame too? Saying sorry does not pay for mileage and gas and frustration that the customer had to go through to return to the restaurant for an order mix-up. read more

I normally dont leave reveiws but i felt like i should leave one for this restaurant. The food might b good but the wait times r ridiculous as there is no waitlist that you can join to help prevent a wait at this place.... and if you get there and have 6 and 3 r standing in the building and the other 3 r parking the car and helping get a elderly person out to help her get in because she's got a walker you won't b seated until all people r in the building but a regular can walk in and say they have 5 and only 2 of theirs b there and they be seated immediately. So in other words it's all about who you know .My autistic son even caught that. So good food, good service, you just better know someone so you can get seated. I just expected more as that elderly women that was being helped out of the car came all the way from bossier city just to eat there. read more

Back in my college and grad school days, I dropped in Log Cabin at least once/quarter for some good, smoked food. As an alumna visiting Ruston, this place was toward the top of our list of places to go. Our waitress was Cassidy, and she was extremely attentive. I ordered the chicken Caesar wrap, and my husband had the one-meat plate. While the broccoli was extremely seasoned and quite salty, it was still full of flavor. My wrap was also really good. They don't offer corn tortillas (for those with gluten allergies), but I took my Gluten Cutter tablets and was fine. My husband enjoyed browsing the store after our meal and liked how you can buy smoking chips, seasonings, and meals to heat later. read more

Very homely inside, the food was very good and the portion sizes are large. We will return when in the area.

Great place to stop when traveling I20. The menu is extensive, from BBQ to chicken fried steak to tex-mex. All has been delicious.

Food was excellent! The service was good. Our lady that waited on us was so nice. There menu they have they offer a lot off variety of food. I would suggest getting there early because after 5:30pm there is a long wait. They also have a market where you can get a variety of already prepared frozen food that you can take home and heat up. It is a great place to eat and a great place to pick up your supper if you do not want to eat there. I would definitely be coming back. read more

We love this restaurant. Fast service and good food! Stop by the market on your way out and grab some great Cajun food to take home!

This was something I lucked into. I found it totally by accident. I am traveling across upper LA on I-20. I left Shreveport this morning, went to a customer site and once that was done I contemplated grabbing something near there or waiting until I got to Ruston. I am so glad I waited. I arrived early to the hotel so I searched for some place to get a late lunch. I saw something online near the hotel and started that way but drove by Log Cabin Grill and pulled over to check it out. (Funny it didn't show up on my Apple Maps when I searched Restaurants nearby ). Google reviews looked great so I went back. The menu was overwhelming, it was a long time since breakfast and I wanted everything. I asked my server Avery for a suggestion and she was spot on, chicken fried chicken. It was delicious. Freshly made. Dessert was peach bread pudding with ice cream. If you are traveling through, do yourself a favor and stop here. If you live in the area then surely you have to already know how great this place is. Nice dining area, plenty of seating. read more
