1/2 rack of ribs, sorry I already ate the beans!

Fantastic spot! We were short on time and chose this place because it was nearby -- and we're so glad we did. We were seated immediately, and the staff couldn't have been more friendly and polite. We started with the chips and cheese with chicken. I was expecting nachos, so I had a little "aha" moment when it arrived -- just like the menu said, it was chips with a cup of cheesy dip, and it was delicious. For my meal, I had the half rack of ribs with a side salad and baked beans. The salad didn't look particularly exciting, but it was fresh and flavorful. The baked beans were possibly the best I've ever had, and the ribs were tender and tasty. I only wish we hadn't been in such a rush -- I would have loved to savor it all a bit more. We're already planning to come back before we leave Ruston!

    Chicken Potpie

My husband picked up the Chicken Potpie for a gathering of 6 adults. The instructions were not specific on how to cook it from frozen versus thawed and since he purchased it frozen, he assumed the directions were for it being frozen. Well, it was STILL frozen when he took it out of the oven and the rest of the meal was ready. So, that was disappointing! But not as disappointing as the taste of the Chicken Potpie. I have never purchased this meal at the restaurant, so I had know what I was getting. It is basically canned cream of chicken soup (or taste like it) over a bag of frozen vegetables with a little bit of dry, chewy chunks of chicken thrown in and topped with cooked Grand biscuits, broken up pieces and crumbs. It was very unappealing to look at and even worse to eat. For that price I expected much more quality and quantity. Never again!

Like when I was a young boy! Only way better and with dessert!!!-s pleural! Good thing I do not live any near this place , it's simply old school fantastic. I posted this - Dinner on the road tonight is in Ruston, LA. This was special. Barbecue dinner with baked beans and mac-n-cheese for me and grilled shrimp tacos for the boss lady. For dessert, peach foster bread pudding and Oreo bread pudding.

Dropped by during a family road trip. Arrived at 7 PM on a Thursday night and they said there's a 40 min wait. Obviously this place is popular with the locals. We had thought about ordering to-go, but they said the food would probably take at least 30 min to cook. So, we decided to dine-in. We were texted after a 30 min wait. Was seated immediately and after getting our drinks we ordered. There is quite a selection of food on their menu with prices being fairly reasonable. Cooks must've been swamped because it took 30 min for our food to come. Serving sizes are quite large and service is friendly.

Chicken fajitas were not cooked throughly - chicken was still pink in spots. Peppers not even softened. Sausage appetizer was good though.

While the staff were not rude or poor I just felt they were not overly happy to be employed or like people very much maybe. Felt like they couldn't wait to all get out of there, kinda like myself. The air conditioner was also set at about -20 and I'm usually not one to complain about cold rooms, might be the only place in LA that you need a jacket. The only plus is they did have some good specials.

And before anyone pulls a hamstring jumping to conclusions, it was a Saturday early afternoon (3:45pm) and there are a total of 3 tables this guy was waiting. In between incompetence, he passed time living his best life chatting up the cook staff. And that was apparent when I ordered a rare steak and got what appeared to be microwave-nuked lunchable meat. Helen Keller's imaginary friend got more attention than our table did. The empty plates and unfilled drinks were forming the Island of Forgotten Dishes on our table. Again, before a fleet of single mom waitresses start grabbing picket signs and forming a lynch mob, I'm not beating the kid up for being new. I'm criticizing his utter lack of effort and how winter in Game of Thrones came sooner than anything our table ordered. And the fact he had the audacity to argue about what someone at the table ordered. This place needs a serious training stand down. What are the odds the waitstaff and the cook staff are joining forces to create a Mediocre Mid-Meal Mastermind Super Villain? They won. Clearly the fault of the management for allowing this type of lackluster service. Then again, not surprising with today's humanity. And just so ambience doesn't feel left out - the half gallon of spilled sweat tea that had a broom propped over it was a nice touch. Do better, Ruston Chili's.
