Love the customer service fresh food and great vibes. The seasoning is top tier also. You can't go wrong with Mexican.

If you're from the area, you know you can't go wrong with avocado's! The staff are always very friendly and helpful. They are also bilingual which is helpful if you don't know English or Spanish very well. I've been here a few times and everything is delicious! Unfortunately I am on a diet and couldn't partake in the usual tacos or chimichangas. I ordered the chicken salad and I was not displeased at all. It was delicious. Only bad thing I can say about it is that the lettuce isn't the best quality lettuce, but I digress. This place is a no brainer if you're wanting Mexican in the area.

Avocado's has the best fried avocado tacos. I'm a vegetarian and most people don't make meals for us but this is one of the best meals I've tasted from a restaurant in a long time.

Enjoying food with some of my all time favorite people at one of my all time favorite restaurants!

This restaurant is what I use as a rubric to measure all other Mexican restaurants. The amount of time and money I have spent in this establishment is a testament to how fantastic everything there is. Whether it was going out to dinner with the family or going to grab some drinks with some friends, no other place can compare. My go to meal is the Tacos al Carbon. This is the only Mexican restaurant that I have ever been to that puts the white queso on the tacos al carbon as per the norm. The tomatillo sauce is amazing. Only consume the tomatillo sauce if you have a high tolerance to spicy. The margaritas are amazing! They are strong enough to get you to where you want to be with a minimal number of drinks. To sum this review up: Don't waste your time with other Mexican restaurants. The restaurant stays busy even during off hours that should tell you everything you need to know.

Getting here from I20 is pretty quick and worth the short drive. Place is clean and friendly staff. Being from oklahoma I know good Mexican food and these guys do a great job! Chips and salsa was solid. Try The stuffed avocados (both chicken and shrimp) they are a great way to start! I tried to get a pic but the kids tore into them too quickly. The various kinds of enchiladas were excellent as were the margaritas!

We went to visit family in Louisiana and they decided to visit this location. It was indicated to us that it was going to be a Tex-Mex restaurant. When we got there, it looked like any other Mexican restaurant. We had a large group and they did accommodate us in a section of the restaurant which was nice. Afterwards we ordered and I got the fish tacos. They loaded my plate with refried beans and Mexican rice. The refried beans tasted very generic like it came from a can. The Mexican rice tasted like it had been sitting in a chafing dish for a bit so it was seemed overcooked and dry. I attached a photo of it and they did a good job presenting it. The fish tacos were not memorable so that means there was no outstanding piece of it to make it stand out. Unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype that my relatives made it out to be.

This place had been on our to-do list for a while now after I accidentally drove by the sign a year or so ago. I saw that it was packed and looked like a good date night. Finally, the day came and it was a weird time to go, between dinner and lunch. But it ended up being nice because we were one of the few tables inside and had full attention of our waiter and the staff, so no issues there. As for the food, we were overwhelmed with delicious options on the menu. We opted for the stuffed avocados - a MUST. They tasted like they were stuffed with ceviche, a super healthy blend of lime, lemon juice, shrimp, tomatoes, and onion. We easily scarfed these down and didn't feel too much guilt after. As for our meals, I opted for the super unhealthy fried avocado tacos, which were superb. I had enough for leftovers and gladly ate them later without hesitation. I definitely cannot wait to go back here. It tops my short list of local eats to go when hoping for some Tex-Mex. This is not going to be your authentic Mexican place, but in my opinion, has much more flavor than El Jarrito on every corner. It has more unique dishes and the decor inside is actually nice. I say it is a mix of Iron Cactus with Chili's if you've been to both, than expect that, and you won't be disappointed.

I don't know why everyone is so crazy about this place... I was recommended this place a few times within a couple days. Maybe I just went on a bad day? I ate here on Sunday, August 18, 2013 for lunch. Came with a party of 4 around 12:30 pm. Prime lunch time right? On the weekend? So the food is supposed to be fresh? I'm just confused. I ordered a chimichanga. I've never gotten one like this before. It was ground beef wrapped in a flour tortilla with white queso on top, served with rice, beans, lettuce w/ guac, sour cream & pico de gallo. It was horrid. The meat smelled. Bad. It was SO SALTY. I ended up eating the rice, beans, and lettuce and maybe 3 bites of the chimichanga. It just did not smell OR TASTE right. It tasted a bit old. I just couldn't stomach it! And I was starving!!! My friends got the taco salad which was totally loaded and looked visually appealing. It had the same ground meat though. They didn't complain, but I am very sensitive to smell. They also ordered a tortilla soup. I found that this dish was lacking flavor!!! It had broccoli and cauliflower florets in it! and carrots and fresh avocado...It was different. Quite a light and refreshing broth, but it did not taste very flavored. I guess it was called tortilla soup because it had a few small tortilla chips sprinkled on top... I wouldn't go back. I really don't know what the hype is.

My last meal in Louisiana was here....they had almost doubled the size of the interior, and got rid of the "we must open quickly and get the cash register busy" look. Very tasteful looking on the inside now but nothing that would pass muster with Las Vegas standards. Since everyone guys from Mexican food here are a words that sum up my review...This is not the Mayo Clinic. Mexican food should be heavily seasoned and spicy, with a liberal dose of salt and garlic. the plates were abundant looking.... but all four plates work totally underseasoned. not a lemon wedge or lime wedge in sight, much less raw onion or cilantro. On the plus side...service was fantastic and our orders were brought to us quickly despite the crowds. Iced Tea what's refilled quickly. my parents are getting up there in years so I know they needed something with flavor. next time I will just tell them to season everything heavily. You would think that fajita enchiladas would be swimming in a plethora of different flavors. But the grilled onions and peppers added nothing to the fajita meat. it totally needed some salt while cooking. Maybe I am just spoiled living in Collin County Texas, with the chain Mexican restaurants such as uncle Julio's or Pappasito's, and of course Taco Cabana. With a few touches of proper marination and liberal seasoning, this place would really rock. if anyone, at the management level of the restaurant reads this, please tell him I love this affordable, and plush auction in Monroe...but to please work on adding some salt. One final plus...a vast ocean of parking and some of the best exterior stating I have ever seen!

Good Zmexican food, reasonably fresh. Prepared in a way similar to most chain Mexican restaurants. Service friendly and helpful.

The rice was hard. The chicken nuggets were really burnt (they were black). They got all of our order wrong. I do NOT recommend

That was a great first impression. And then our server greeted us by asking which of us was celebrating her birthday. I'll assume that was a brainfart or a failure to read the reservation notes, but I wondered briefly whether he assumed two women dining together wouldn't be celebrating an anniversary. We started with drinks; she had a 1988 (a variation on a French Blond, but named as a tribute to the year the Women's Business Ownership Act allowed the owner to go into business for herself) and I had a Royal Navy (a zero-proof cocktail with delicious herbal and citrus flavors). They were both outstanding. The cheese board, listed as the chef's selection of 4 cheeses and housemade crostini, also included a cube of guava jelly as lagniappe. The kitchen sent it out without crostini, and our server (not one of their regular servers, I guessed) didn't tell us what any of the cheeses were. This baffled me; when we ordered it the server actually explained what 'crostinis' (sic) meant, as if we were unfamiliar with the term. Whatever they were, they were tasty, and lucky for us none was soft enough to need a platform. My wife says her jumbo shrimp skewers were great and she loved the chimichurri enough to take it home for later. My market salad ("local lettuce mix, rotating summer veg & dressing") was a perfect example of quality over quantity: pecans, crumbled cheese, fresh berries, and raspberry vinaigrette on leaf lettuce. Eight beautiful, tender pieces of lettuce. So I certainly had room for dessert. And the dessert was a real treat: a three-inch peach caramel tart, an anniversary gift to us. We enjoyed it and had an enlightening conversation with the charming GM, who confirmed my suspicions that the uneven experience was a result of another staff member stepping in to cover for a server. If Apero fits your budget once in a while, give it a try. They're likely to delight you. (But if you're used to larger portions, you might want to have a bit of a snack first.)
