This place was so interesting! It's one of the more busy places we went on our trip. You order at the counter and there's a lot to choose from, we just came for catfish. The Catfish was good, crispy and they gave A LOT as well shared this one. The sides were not worth getting. We are from STL so we are used to onion , pickle and a slice of white bread - that would've made the meal a little better. This was our third time at CC's. The last time, the service was incredibly slow. This time we got our food quickly. We got the thin and crispy catfish. It was good, as were the fries. However, it wasn't $75 good. Plus, the restaurant was dirty and tired looking, both inside and out. My family agreed, these days, tired old restaurants with sticky floors and propped-open doors just don't get it done when there's a shiny brand new Raisin Canes right down the street with excellent food and clean tables at half the price. We stopped here on our way to Texas on a Sunday for lunch. The place was busy. We quickly ordered at the counter and found a table. We ordered two jumbo shrimp poboys and 2 kids catfish boats. Our food wait was less than 10 minutes. The restaurant looks like a hole in the wall in a desolate part of town, but it was delicious. The inside decor was fun for the kids and adults. The restaurant is a little smoky from the kitchen so be prepared to smell like lunch. It added to the ambiance for us. read more

We were driving through the area on Memorial Day and had a hard time finding a spot open. We called Catfish Charlie while at an empty parking lot of another restaurant and was happy to find someone answered. We drove over and found the restaurant next to a shopping center. The menu is up front and you order, get a buzzer, sit down, and grab your food. There are a lot of options from baskets to plates to burgers to salads. There are a lot of side options as well, including mac and cheese and grilled veggies. Hubs ordered a grilled shrimp po boy and had the option of popcorn or gulf shrimp and blackened or not. He chose popcorn, not blackened. The Po boy was delicious and the shrimp came through. It came with fries, a nice unexpected. I opted for the catfish strip basket which came with hushpuppies and fries. I asked for grilled veggies in lieu of fries and found the veggies had good flavor. The catfish was breaded in cornmeal and had a nice crisp. The hushpuppies are good, though I found the veggies as the better side. Service is efficient and kind here. They were packed and for good reason! I ordered 1 pound of boiled shrimp, which came with 2 potatoes and 1 corn. Honestly, the shrimp were so big I could've ordered a half a pound because I ended up giving some away to the other people in my party! The shrimp were huge! I had to take two bites per shrimp. I went through the drive through and ordered 2 grilled chicken plates. One order should have had a ceasar salad and vegetables. The other order should have been 4 shrimp plus 1 filet, macaroni and cheese. and mashed potatoes. None of this should have been fried well when we got our order the only thing we received was 2 orders of fried okra. 1 order of french fries and 2 fried catfish fillets. I paid $43 for my food and that was not what I received. If you go through the drive thru please check your order before you leave, so you don't pay for food you didn't receive. read more

The chicken would've been better if the breading would've stuck to the chicken better and if the tenders were more tender. The mashed potatoes tasted like hobby lobby. I ordered a Cajun fried turkey from Catfish Charlie's for Thanksgiving. This was the biggest mistake that I have ever made! The turkey was a malnourished, hard, inedible mess!!! We literally could not eat it. The turkey was fried so hard that we couldn't pull it from the bone. To make matters worse, it was very expensive. We paid a whopping $80 for something we couldn't eat!
