We have enjoyed this restaurant the last two years that we have spent time visiting in West Monroe. Food and service is great!

New to West Monroe but not new to the area. Amazing food and service! Go eat there and you will be pleased!

Everything was great! Fish and shrimp were perfect. Service was prompt and friendly. Hush puppies were nice and hot.

My first time at The Fish House in West Monroe. We eat out 4 or 5 times a week and I have never had a waitress not smile and be so rude! We waited on crawfish everyone was done eating and still no crawfish so I ask her agI told her she was rude and she said "do you see how busy I am" and then put her hand in my granddaughters face! I own a business I would fire her immediately! Spoke to the manager he just said I am sorry! We went for crawfish but they said they were behind yet we watched 3 tables get them before us! Spent 108.00 and will not be back. We love The Fish House in Sterlington food is better and definitely the people working are great and enjoy their job no matter How busy they are. read more

Food is pretty good (small servings) but the serving of food is not. The plastic utensils and flimsy paper plates have us not visiting often. Restaurant has great potential with a little tweaking. read more

Service was good. Waitress was sweet and did great. Food was as average. Cute decor. Food is served on plastic plates and with plastic forks. You get charged for water and this was not told or on the menu. Only place in town that I've been to that does this. Then you get charged for using a credit card and this was not stated on menu or ticket. Total for surcharge and water being $5 extra than expected. I'll stick with Catfish Charlie's where the serving size is bigger and you know what you are paying for. read more

Paper plates is very unprofessional. Hot food can be contaminated by the plastic. Charging water had to be the cherry on top. You can't be a cheapskate and restaurant owner. read more

This was our first time trying The Fish House in West Monroe.We arrived at 6:31pm-placed our order. We received our drinks and appetizer quickly. At 7:05 we had still not received our entree's. We saw 3 tables that came in after we did, eat, pay and leave. A couple came in and sat down behind us and within 15 minutes had their food and we still had nothing. My husband asked when our food would come out and we were told, "shouldn't be much longer". We did not order anything complicated or that would take longer to prepare. Fried fish all around. We had 2 adults and a toddler at our table. We waited 10 more minutes and still no food. We decided to pay for what we had received and leave. After we approached the counter and asked for our ticket, our food was brought out to the counter. The manager questioned our arrival time and our displeasure. He was not apologetic at all. The waitress claimed a large table came in after us and they took priority-untrue. The large table arrived right before 7pm because we laughed about the grandparents bringing in 5 grandkids and we only had to feed one kid. My husband noticed that after our waitress took our order, she walked straight to a single man sitting at a table and she sat down and visited with him for quite a bit before walking to where orders are submitted. They offered to bag the food up and send with us but no other compensation was offered. The manager was going to charge us for the entire ticket until he verified that we had been there for way too long. They did charge us for our drinks and hushpuppies. We received no apology from the manager, he walked away after telling the young lady at the counter to deduct our entree's from the ticket. We will not be going back. read more

Long cook time and good was cold when it finally arrived at the table. The location in Sterlington is way better.

I've eaten there four times so far since they open. I can't say that I have any complaints at all. The food is always very good and the service isn't bad at all certain night they have live music parking can be an issue. read more

I wan to help, so please listen to what I got to say. This is a new place and I want it to work and be successful. Me and my family went closer to 9pm so after a dinner rush. This is usually when a restaurant proves to be high quality or low quality. As of now it proved to be low quality to me and my family. The food was simply bad for us, and I don't mean to harp or be mean but to help. I'm a proud cook, I'm a good cook, I want everyone to be so also. The food here was left out in either hot water to keep warm, or heating lamps. The crawfish were over cooked. The shells got brittle and became hard to peel properly. Cook crawfish to order, they do not take long at all. The crawfish also definitely sat in seasoned vats because they were extremely salty. Couldn't suck the heads of the bugs at all, way too much salt. It was saltier than the gulf. And the seasoning was very inconsistent. Some were bland while others were way too spicy, and I love spice; like habaneros spice. The boiled shrimp were the opposite almost, still over cooked and hard to peel, but bland- super bland. The corn was rubber. Corn sat in hot water for way to long, lost the pop of the kernels and felt like a tire to eat. Potatoes were bland, that's it for the potatoes- nice size though. The grilled shrimp po boy was a bit small, almost no remoulade sauce- the best part- and had shell on some of the shrimp. Just simple quality control would fix that. The grilled shrimp ended up bland also, and the sandwich just fell apart. The bread was delicious though. The hush puppies were delicious, but way too small, and burnt. The onions rings were fried perfectly but the batter lacked flavor. There is one thing that was amazing, and it was the gumbo. I reckon this is true because it's one of the only things that can sit hot for hours and be better than it was before. Everything ordered could and should be made to order, never serve old cooked food. The service was extremely fast, too fast. That's how I'm pretty sure the food just sat around in hot water/heat lamps. Me and my family were barely there an hour. Cook your food to order and I bet it would've been an amazing dinner, it just wasn't that though. For the price, which wasn't awful, i and anyone should expect freshly cooked product at any time of day. If what others say about how good it is, is true, then my food wasn't freshly made. I hope that's the case because then it's an easy fix. I hope the owner or whoever needs to see this sees it, I don't want another local business to fail. This place needs more local spots and less corporate chains. read more

My mom and I ate here last night and it was absolutely delicious! The fish is the best I've had around here! It was fresh and came out hot. You know how some places have baked potatoes and they are hard because they aren't cooked Al the way? Well, this baked potato was large and they actually bake them until they are done. The jambalaya and gumbo were delicious! We also loved the atmosphere and the waitress provided great service. I'm so glad we finally have a good seafood restaurant in West Monroe! I so wanted to love this place. We got to the restaurant about 3:30 and there were many empty tables. We waited 15 minutes before anyone came to take our order. Excuse was...shift change. Very poor excuse. We had sweet potato strings for an appetizer. $8.50. It was regular sweet potato fries and no more than a serving, served with nothing else. Did I mention that regular serving of sweet potato fries was $8.50! I was astonished that they would charge that much for a side of fries and call it an appetizer. Our waitress was good after she finally got to us. I had fried shrimp. I can't eat spicy so I didn't enjoy them. Husband had fish, it was okay. Salad was shredded lettuce from bag with 2 cherry tomatoes and a tiny bit of cheese. Ranch dressing was good. Pinto beans had way too much sugar in them. Turnip greens were not that good. Don't know what was up with the hush puppies...see photo. Probably won't go back. read more
