Food was awesome!!!! We went on a Saturday morning for brunch and the place was empty! I was expecting better service since we were the only ones in there, but that was not the case! Well this one was a pleasant surprise. I was very impressed by the food that came out of their kitchen. We ordered their Yardbird Chicken Sandwich and the Roast Beef PoBoy, the POBOY was absolutely delicious, the chicken was good (but could have used some brining to soften the meat- slightly tough). The duck fat fries were ridiculously good! I also took advantage of their happy hour and ordered the "The Old Smokey" - it was very tasty. I would definitely order it again and again. Our server Ella was very attentive which was nice - it seemed like she was there exactly when we needed her. (I love when servers are hyper aware of their customers needs). This was our first time eating upstairs at Planters instead of downstairs at Cotton and it will not be our last. Thank you for an excellent dinner for our date night. read more

Went tonight for my boyfriend's birthday, and we had an excellent time! August was our waiter and he did an amazing job! Highly recommend the duck wraps and duck pizza!! DELISH!! It is a small upstairs venue which was nice and private at 5pm. We went early to beat any rush since it's Friday. We will be back!! read more

First off, you have to sit outside; the view is fantastic!! This place is actually the upper level to Cotton; both of this restaurants are very cool. If I lived there, I can see myself eating there several times a week. The shrimp and grits had a definite Cajun kick but a different flair compared to others I've had. the service was good. the bloody mary was very good. the outdoor view was great. the presentation was amazing. BUT the actual food, was awful. out of everything we got, the french fries were the only edible thing. the duck wraps were undercooked big time once you cut them open. the charbroiled oysters had an awful after taste and the caesar salad tasted like mayonnaise with, once again, a terrible after taste. I usually really enjoy this place. I had family visit from Houston and asked them to look at several menus and pick the one they wanted to eat at while they were in town and they chose Planters. I called ahead to make sure they were open. We showed up and told them we were a party of 8 but we could split to two four tops. There were several tables open but the staff member we spoke to told us it would just "be easier" if we ate downstairs. We love Cotton but had eaten there the day before but were really looking forward to eating upstairs. Great food and (before this experience) great service. Extremely disappointed we couldn't host our family for lunch here and that the staff couldn't accommodate us. I'm leaving 4 stars bc my previous experiences here were great. read more

Awesome service and awesome grub. We had the Hemingway oysters, the kicked up deviled eggs, the wings, the filet kebabs and the duck pizza and the BLT wedge. Drinks were not super strong but who cares, great experience and chill atmosphere. Scenery of the river was great as well. read more

Ok fantastic place! Looking for a simple place however they have Oysters!! OMG grilled with jalapeño cheddar a dab o hot sauce and of course BACON!! You can't go wrong with a dozen overlooking the River. Also had the American pizza very very good sauce perfect spice and of course the little cupped pepperonis. The plus sitting in the deck watching the sun go down looking over the River! Next time going to have to try the burgers!! read more

Great atmosphere, been going there for several years. The menu hasn't changed much at all. Not a lot of options for vegetarians unless you want a tomato pizza. All the food was served COLD and DRY... needs updating. Drinks and bartender service is great! read more

Been here several times over the past few years. Everything we have ordered has been great. We tried the duck pizza last week and it was some of the best pizza we've had in a while. I understand tough times here in 2020 but just because you're not necessarily having as much foot traffic come in doesn't mean you should take advantage of customers skimping on the quantity of food to save money on cost & maximize profit. Charging $13 for 3 yes 3 shrimp bacon wrapped (roughly $4.30 per shrimp) is absurd. I'm closer to the coast here then I am in Texas, these aren't big huge prawn these are small shrimp. The restaurant made back the cost of the appetizer in one shrimp (or less). Do not come here, small businesses want you to eat local, and support them? Then don't take advantage of your customers & maybe they won't be hesitate to do so. I come into this town to visit my girlfriend and spend a lot of money while I'm here. I'll NEVER be back. Hope it was worth $13 dollars to you. It's not the money, it's the principle; I DO NOT tolerate being taken advantage of. read more

Upstairs in a beautiful old brick warehouse right on the Ouachita River, this hidden gem has a lovely ambiance. Menu includes surprisingly good gourmet pizza, raw oysters, burgers and fish tacos. It is my preferred local pub. read more
