I called MOOvers Chicago hoping that they had availability. I worked with John and it couldn't have been easier. He delivered an actual quote, worked with us on the tight move-in window for our building, and kept in contact throughout the process. His team did a great job communicating day of. They took great care with our belongings, with Alex and his two fellow movers were polite and made sure that our belongings were safe. At the end of the move, they were spot on with the invoice and all of our belongings arrived safe and sound. All in all a great experience and if I could rate as ten-stars I would. Thanks for taking the stress out of what had been turning into a stressful situation. You really saved our move.

The uhaul shipment ended up arriving on December 24 which was not ideal due to the holiday, but 2 guys and a van were able to accommodate. Everything was moved in within the time window provided in the estimate. They also wrapped up some of the antique items to prevent damage. Would book these guys again. They didn't give an actual bill and only cited "materials" as the reason for the price change even though I had everything packed in boxes and I even physically helped them get things in to and out of the truck. They also charge a service fee just to be able to pay them. The 2 guys who showed up and moved my stuff we're nice enough but I absolutely would NOT recommend hiring this company.

When going through the inventory in order to book the move, I repeatedly informed the agent on the phone, Amy, that I had about 20 boxes (already packed from a previous move) and some kitchen chairs, and a Refrigerator--I repeated numerous times that the largest item was a refrigerator--. From the storage unit to my house is a 20 minute drive. The entire job took no less than 3 hours. They initially quoted me about $427 (estimate). I agreed to the estimate and signed because it seemed reasonable for the amount of work required. The day of the move, the movers show up and as soon as I open the storage door, one of the movers looks at me and says: "they did tell you about the $150 refrigerator handling fee right?" I responded no, and told him that I repeatedly told the agent Amy on the phone during the quote that the reason why I'm hiring a moving company was because I couldn't move the refrigerator myself... and she acknowledged and listed the refrigerator in the estimate. Never did she mention on the phone anything about a surcharge for the handling of the refrigerator. If I had sent them away because of my refusal to pay the surprise charge that was not in the initial quote, they would have kept my $250 "non-refundable" security deposit. This is a clear situation of deceptive practices by failing to disclose hidden fees or charges. So, having no other option, I told them to proceed with the move in the hopes that I could later fight it with the office. When we got home to unload the truck, they would not unload unless they took full payment, which included the $150. They charged $50 to wrap chairs with Nylon wrap. I called their dispatch manager and we went back and forth about the charge, and he said they would not unload unless I pay upfront. They also added another $84.5 for (half an hour's worth of work) for the time we spent arguing over the charge. So basically, they grab you by the neck and when you try to argue the charges, they threaten to kidnap your stuff and take it to their warehouse if you don't pay. Also, they keep charging you for the time you argue with them on the phone. They ended up charging me $896.48. Shame on them.

He showed up to my house looking like he hasn't slept in days his pants were falling off his ass. He kept dropping my items I caught him multiple times dragging my items across the floor. My original quote was $470, I only had a few furniture items and maybe six boxes. It took them so long to move those items that Daniel thought he was going to charge me $800 afterwards! Lol then after going through my storage I found one of my mirrors to be cracked. Horrible moving company would never use again.

Do not hire this moving company!!!…read more hired 3 guys , two could not understand us or the lead guy. The two guys were new and didn't even know how to move items correctly. caught them multiple on their phones on social media and recording the views to our place. one kept taking smoking breaks as well. I know that moving is a lot so I tried not trip. HOWEVER Daniel (the owner) was notified at which he mentioned he would give a discount. My husband was helping out the whole time because they weren't moving things properly! Not to mention they had to stop and get oils for their truck but we was still charged for the time At the time of payment the discount given was reduced because Daniel was doing the math wrong. The next day I informed the owner about the damages was done to my son headboard and artwork he proceeded to blame my husband and mentioned the discount was for items damaged! (this wasn't possible if I found out after). Not to mention they stole my step ladder!! Daniel didn't handle this matter with accountability however just excuses and pointing the finger . Smooth moving experience!…read more Initial contact: There's an easy to use online portal where you can input your inventory and details, sign your contract, etc. The team is also very communicative via text. All the communication is rapid, clear, and convenient. Price: on par with other professional moving companies in the area. Move experience: Seamless. The movers called to say they'd be a few minutes late because of truck issues, but they more than made up for that time by working quickly. They sent 5-6 people to help with our huge move (finally, a company that understands how to staff large moves!), were prepared to handle some very heavy and oddly shaped items, and were extremely proactive and patient with helping me figure out where to put some furniture in smaller spaces in my new house. Vibes: The movers treated our items with care, treated our home with respect, and were still incredibly fast with making the move. I mainly communicated with the manager of the crew, who knew his stuff, was professional, and was patient with my questions and concerns. Overall: great experience (as great as the misery of moving can be, and I've already hired them for a second time for another move!
