Previously I used Lucky Transit with great success, as I stated in my original review; I liked them so much I have since referred them three times in the last year. When we decided to switch apartments within our complex this month I didn't hesitate to reach out to Yuriy to see if he could help again. He was available, and we were relieved...until the day of our move, when two other guys (not Yuriy) showed up. Although we didn't remember them from the first move, one seemed nice enough and got straight to work. It took them a long time to load things, which was understandable given our complex's procedure, but it was almost three times as long as it took Yuriy and someone else the first time with the same constraints. I also made suggestions a couple of times about alternative options like the stairs for things, but this was not used. Additionally, I had asked Yuriy via text if he would bring wrapping and these guys did not. Thank goodness we had our own, but even still some things were not properly wrapped and one got damaged (e.g. desk top, pictured). With almost 7 hours in and now nighttime, they were clearly irritated and ready to be done, which while we shared their frustration, was also bad for us since it meant more money and meant that they basically unloaded everything and left, leaving us with boxes in rooms stacked on top of each other, all where they didn't belong, nothing put back together, and damaged items, which is frankly the worst of it. I haven't even looked inside any "fragile" boxes yet, and can only imagine what I will find. I have moved many times in my life and this was the very worst I've ever experienced. I will never ever use this company again, and I would not recommend them to anyone. I hired these guys a year ago and I was so happy with them that I decided to do some repeat business this year, as well. I'm all about supporting small businesses so I didn't have to go far to pick who I want to move my stuff this time around. Once I reached out to them, I realized that the price went up, but I honestly didn't mind, thinking that I will get awesome service. Last time I gave them a 5 star review, because they deserved it. Unfortunately, this time, it was the worst moving experience ever. I should also mention that this time the 2 guys that moved me were different from the ones last year. I was moving from a ground floor apartment to a 4th floor building with an elevator. My family and I moved all the boxes the day before, so the movers had 11 pieces of furniture to move. A couch, two beds, some dressers, and so on. They moved everything except the crunch. They left it and came up to inform me that they would not be bringing it up. I was like "What? Isn't that your job and the one reason that I hired you?" they told me that the company's policy is that they do not bring anything up higher than the 2nd floor. No one ever told me that. My couch was apparently too big and too heavy, that they decided to leave it in the building hallway - in front of the elevator, blocking my neighbors from coming in or out of their apartments. They didn't even bother to move it in the lobby. Once I got downstairs to see what the situation was, I realized that there is a rip in my $1,600 Italian leather sofa. They were gone at this point. I took a picture and sent it to Yuri (whom I believe to be the business owner), explaining what happened - never heard back from him. Not a peep. To summarize my personal experience with this company, this time around would be: 1) The job they were hired (and paid to do) was not completed. Paid by the hour, if they had told me that I would have to pay extra because they would take longer - I wouldn't object. If they had told me that they need to call for backup and I would be charged extra - I wouldn't object. But simply damaging and leaving the couch was unacceptable. 2) Significant damage was done to my personal property. The most disappointing part is that no one came up to me to tell me about this. Like little insecure and afraid children, they ran away. No responsibility, no integrity, no honor. 3) No communication acknowledging my effort to reach out to the business owner to try and solve the problem. I gave him more than a week to respond to me, so far - nothing. My attempt to talk to someone, a reasonable adult to reach a peaceful solution was ignored. 4) No suggestions or problem solving on their part was displayed. I might be expecting a little too much, but I don't like to judge people based on what they do. They did not try to figure out a solution to our problem, and basically just refused to do anything. 5) Last time around, they were so careful with everything. They even wrapped the furniture to make sure nothing would be damaged. This time, they were so careless and inconsiderate. 6) My advice to someone who is looking to hire them, ask for a certificate of insurance before you hire them. Just in case something happens to your furniture, you should have that piece of mind. If nothing happens - great, you can shred it and forget about it. 7) Make sure they protect your valuable furniture by wrapping it into whatever: blankets, covers, shrink wrap, etc. they did not do this with my couch, therefore - a rip. read more

Worst moving experience I've ever had! I have moved several times and these guys were unprofessional. The movers showed up over an hour early, so I had to rush home from an appointment. When they did arrive, they brought no moving supplies. I specifically asked for this before booking the reservation. I had to pull the sheets off my bed for the movers to use to protect my furniture. Unfortunately, that didn't save my brand new leather couch. I have tears in the leather that will cost me over $100 to repair. They arrived with no moving supplies, so I had to borrow dollys from my building. The movers ended up using them to move half my furniture. How did they expect to move an entire apartment of furniture without dolly's? It was also evident the guys that were sent were not experienced movers. They were nice and courteous, but they couldn't figure out how to fit my furniture in the freight elevator. The move took alot longer than it should have. My previous move with more furniture and boxes took less time than this. read more

I booked Lucky Transit at 8 am for a move on a weekday in West Chicagoland, and I couldn't have had a better experience. Yuri and Bobo turned up on the dot at 8 am, and although I wasn't quite ready for them and was anxious about it, they made the situation and the move comfortable, and were brilliant throughout. What could have turned into a disaster for me was an outstanding success thanks to them. Of particular note was that their truck, a 17 footer, was larger than my storage facility - and the truck was fully loaded when it left my apartment - with all the furniture properly padded and strapped to stop it from moving. They were able to stack and arrange my furniture in such a way as to get everything I had into my storage facility with enough space for me to walk through to the end although it was tight at the back (AMAZING) and still have room at the front to arrange the things I needed easy access to, which was unbelievable. Yuri and Bobo helped save me money and I was thrilled at having such polite, experienced, and hard-working professionals who performed magnificently throughout. I have no hesitation in recommending them - although they did have to make a couple of calls to push back a couple of later jobs they had booked for the rest of the day (I did ask them about that, because they were with me a little longer than anticipated) so if timing is vital for you, I suggest booking them first thing so you are first on their job list. They work very hard, and they make sure the job is done the way you'd like it. Totally first class. I've had six previous moves in the last ten years, two of which I've done myself (with friends, and I drove the truck or trailer - satisfying and fun at the end, but a LOT more work) but of the four I hired professional people to undertake, Yuri and Bobo were easily the best, and the guys I'd want to bring back. Worst company I ve ever met. Do not use them. They never keep their time. I made appointment 10 days in advance, for 2-3 pm. On moving day at 2pm, they said they could come by 4:30pm, at 4:30, they said they couldn't cone by 6pm, at 6, they said they can't come. What a dishonest business. They never pay loss we sufferred, we missed the opportunity to find other movers that day. Shame on them read more
