This location sure hasn't changed very much since I moved way six years ago. that is not a good thing by the way. It's crowded, cramped and often disorganized in many areas, and the class of people you get at this store....it's certainly a Walmart. Normally I try really hard to be objective and give the benefit of the doubt for places that have low star ratings. This place however has earned it. read more

30 minutes to buy 4 gift cards... employees have absolutely no clue what they are doing. Managers non existent

Your store is really under staffed. I can never find a person to help when I need it. Also on more then one occasion I have seen staff from deli or bakery come from the restrooms wearing their aprons. Thats nasty. I wish this was the walmart I remember from 15 years ago happy friendly faces working. Now everyone seems angry and unhelpful. read more

They have everything I need in a pretty easy to understand order, especially for groceries, and are almost always fully stocked. I don't go shopping there for much more but at least it's a standard Walmart can't say much bad about it. read more

I was given 2 gift cards that did not scan. Then, no one can get a manager to over ride their manual entry of the card. I think I'll pay a little extra and got to Target from now on read more

Went into this store to get some packing supplys. Found what I needed. The store is old looking and for the reason it looked dirty. I went to check out in the garden area as I was parked near there. They only had one person working the whole garden area, so I waited to check out at least 15 mintues. I was ok with that but the two other people behind me where no happy and they let everyone know it. So I would ask for more help in that area of the store. read more

why lock up the baby formula if it takes ages for someone to get to you and the other employees just look at you like your dumb

Well this Walmart isn't all that horrible BUT of course there's a few holes. The Goods: Always well stocked, big selection & good location. The Bads: No one around at the Site-To-Store counter. When you press the call button it takes YEARS for someone to arrive. Usually actually have to CALL the store within the store to track someone down. It's also hard to find a competent Deli employee. If you do, you're lucky. If you're unlucky, they are painfully slow and sometimes have to repeat your 1-at-a-time order. They don't price-match at the self service checkouts. They don't alert you with at least a sign, but they DO have an employee there to watch your every move, but he or she cannot price-match for you. Senseless. read more

This is by far the worst Wal Mart I have ever been to. I was attempting to buy patio furniture and needed some assistance, however I received the worst costumer service. The employee I interacted with was very rude and not helpful at all. I attempted to find another employee to assist me with the item I was trying to buy, and one of the managers said to meet them back there and he would send an associate to the garden area to assist me. I waited outside for 20 minutes and nobody ever came out to the garden area. I was then told that the store was closing in 5 minutes and to come back another day. I do not recommend this Wal Mart. read more

The worst! Customer service is a joke. Their so called management associates have no manners and no education. I will never shop at a Walmart again. read more

Seriously sketchy. Last time I was here cops had three people handcuffed lying in their stomachs. There are never any open registers. The produce is disgusting. Half of the parking lot lights are out, and if the people outside are anything like the people inside, I'd rather not be in the dark with them. read more

It sucks giving this location one star because I really do like Walmart. But lately this store has been like creeper central. I came here one night just for some shampoo and conditioner. It had to be about 10pm and I was alone, however, there were a lot of people in the parking lot. As I walk into the store, there are like 6 homeless people sleeping in that little front area near the shopping carts. Why aren't any employees monitoring this!? And after I get my shampoo, I'm in the self checkout and some ladies kid starts throwing up right next to my shopping cart. Way to go Walmart. I almost wanted to run back to my car but that would look suspicious with me running out of the store...I can't believe Tempe has come to this. read more

Worst Pharmacy in Arizona. They make you wait for ever every single time, they all look like they hate their job and treat people as such! Just the worst costumer service! read more

This is by far the biggest Walmart Supercenter I have visited. This location is very clean and organized. There is also a Subway, bank, nail salon, and vision center. In the large parking lot there are spots for online pickup. read more

I'm not a fan of Wal-Mart to begin with, but this is one of the only ones I actually don't mind going into. Other than their recent remodeling of the shelves, I can usually find everything I need. Last week I went into this Walmart hoping to find a book I needed and I was saddened that they have such a huge electronic section but their book section is literally two shelves, where as in Target there's a section for books. I guess this is because Walmart customers don't read? read more

This is one of my favorite walmarts around the country. It's actually cleaner than most. Staff is helpful. Great selection. Great location.

Worst Wal-Mart in Arizona. I live up the street, do not have much money but I have to go out of my way to shop at other stores or to the Walmart in Chandler, because I always have a bad experience here. There are almost always issues with the pharmacy, the store is unclean, the lines are always long, many items are out of stock and the heavy lady at the cosmetics counter is very rude and agressive. Not to mention that whenever I price match, most cashiers question EVERY SINGLE ITEM, even if there is a $0.10 difference! How humiliating and unfair to the other customers. The saddest part is, I used to be a manager at a store in Gilbert, so I know all about the policies and such. read more

This Walmart is only not busy late at night. Most of the prime times the lines are really long and the store is packed. I go here often because it's within walking distance. But it should be bigger or have less displays so people aren't always tripping on each other. read more

So we visit Walmart FREQUENTLY maybe 5 times a week!!! So I pretty much know how Walmart works... I went in today because on my last visit I purchased an oil diffuser and some oils when I got home to try them it didn't work so I tried to return it I DIDN'T EVEN WANT THE MONEY !! Just wanted to be able to get something else and the lady at the customer service register told me I needed the receipt to return it just to get a Walmart gift card that I can only use in a Walmart So now I am stuck with a broken diffuser because we never got the receipt in the beginning !!! However I called another Walmart that told me as long as it's under 25$ they have to return it even without the receipt and give you a gift card. read more

Your reviews are hilarious!! (shoot--who was this referring to??) I try to avoid WM. I'm always warned about the possibility of TB or now, pig flu. I think the hub just doesn't want to go shopping--not that I LIKE shopping. I know someone who worked WM in WA and she says the conditions are just horrible for employees. I've spoken to at least one cashier that is actually FRIENDLY and LOVES his job benefits and bonuses. He's a minority I guess bc as you all said, YOU CAN'T FIND ANYTHING and CAN'T GET HELP without attitude, usually. I'm standing there staring at 2 mgrs, and they just ignore me for a few minutes? I didn't want to interrupt the conversation, so I waited. FINALLY, one asks if I need help??? NAAAAAH, I was just admiring your huge body and wondered how long it might take me to look that way. FOOLS! On my last visit, a customer said "excuse me" to the 3 employees behind me in the aisle. I glanced at her and she sighed, rolled her eyes and shook her head as they all ignored her. I chuckled and acknowledged her frustration. Then one employee pipes up with "OH, I'm sorry ma'am, can we help you?" She asks to find an item, the customer thanks them, they say "You're welcome", the customer leaves and they sarcastically continue to each other: "THAT'S WHAT WE'RE HERE FOR. NO, THAT'S NOT WHY WE'RE HERE. We're not here to find stuff for stupid people, we have better things to do." That's why, when I walk by an employee working, if they lay eyes on me, they immediately look away and pretend to be engrossed in their job, to avoid stopping to help. WT? What's wrong w/this management??? I agree, you can find some deals and save some money, but the attitude is over the top. There are a FEW employees that actually smile and appear friendly, at least when I see them, and I can point them out. If not for the more often than not occurences as mentioned above, I stay OUT of WM as much as possible, which is a lot. I've drastically reduced my trips there, but more importantly, I've cut out a huge chunk of purchasing from WM. read more

This review is specifically for the jewelry department. I went there today to have my battery replaced for my watch. A woman by the name of Alex was working that area. I have to say that she is one of the most helpful sales associates that I've ever encountered. She had a smile on her face and you could tell that she enjoyed her job. She was quick, easy to work with, and we shared a few laughs. Its good to know that theres still exceptional customer service out there, despite the stigma attached to Wal-Mart. read more

Traffic and congestion here is my main gripe - but this means they are busy. They are busy for good reasons. My reason for writing is due to Daniel, the Assistant Manager. He saved me from making a second trip to the store to pick up an item I'd ordered online. I think this is excellent customer service! And it kept the wife happy a little longer too! Thanks Daniel! read more

Beautiful Walmart very clean always has a nice selection we are from California very nice

This Walmart is the closet to me, but I still would rather drive 10 mins further to shop at a different location. I only come here if I absolutely have to. It smells here, always jam packed, kids running everywhere, I always seem to choose the shitty carts each time. read more

Great prices and I can't argue with that. I am all about saving money and I don't really care what the customers look like. I am there to shop not criticize what the customers and employees look like. I have been coming here for almost 10 years and I have never had a complaint. Management has always helped me out with an issue that I might have had and I have always left the store satisfied. read more

I had a horrible customer experience. Came to get gift cards. The cashier messed up, customer service couldn't help. I had to go back to work tell them I couldn't get all the cards for our Veterans event. Called spoke to the asst mgr Julio. Had to go back, tried to explain things to Asst. Mgr. Julio. Wow what a way to escalate an issue Julio. He was combative, never understood the very simple issue, refused to help me. Lol ok thank you. The customer service asst mgr Rebecca did. Julio then got another manager because he couldn't deal with me. Abraham. I told him someone was helping me but Julio. By thus time i wanted to cry. I was afraid Julio would hit me. Kept checking my corporate card. I think he thought I shouldn't have one. Julio lost a pretty good large company customer. Plus a personal one too. read more

Its so sad when I go to Walmart. It's like being in a poor third world country. The employee looks sad and the customers look angry or worried. It is a surreal experience. Store definitely have the desperate feel to it. A negative energy. Years ago walmart used to be more like Target. This isn't the case anymore. They have slipped in a downward spiral. In my opinion its not the same Walmart as it used to be in the old days. read more

RUN AWAY...seriously don't even bother with this location! Experienced some of the absolute worst customer service with the cashier Omega here. Her line was soooo slow I swear paint would've dried faster. Then 36 bags (yes I counted.. it was THAT ridiculous) for 60 some items... really? Come'on. Save yourself a headache and avoid at all costs. I won't be back. read more

Never left Walmart feeling so aggravated after a shopping trip here before. I buy make up here often enough but today as I grabbed a few products and was about to walk out of the department I was yelled at by an older lady who told me I must pay for my items before I could leave the make up section. She was very rude and made it seem like I wanted to steal the items because I had no idea of this new rule. I have purchased makeup here many times and I have never been told I had to pay before I could walk to different parts of the store. Last time I'll shop here I'm better off at CVS or target. read more

Kini or Kenny (not quite sure how he spells his name) is the Manager at this location and no where to be found. It was so hot in the store this evening. It was uncomfortable. I come here about 7-8pm at least twice a month and spend about $150-200 on each visit. Prices are reasonable. The staff is friendly. It's not over crowded at that time. I'm sure there are floor managers or someone he left the key or access to the AC. I only took conditioner and shampoo and was out of there. I went to a Grocery store for my shopping. Please fix this AC problem before you lose customers. read more

When is Walmart going to realize all their customers want are more than 2 lines open I mean come on you have about 20 of em! I mean with all these employees standing around I'm sure you could use them to open another four registers. Standing in the self check out line or any other line for 30min is absurd. Including the 20items or less line. Walmart is a great franchise think about how much greater it could be when it focuses on customers wants and needs. We want and need more check out cashiers!!! read more

It's Walmart and they are all the same: extremely painful places to go into. You go in there to get something cheap that you are willing to put up with the crap to get it at that price for. I go there for dog food. The brand I buy is FAR cheaper there than ANYWHERE else. But I have some doozy stories that would be hard to top by anyone writing reviews on here at this, particular WalMart. Here's one of them: Well, I don't spend much time there anymore, figure out what I need before I go in, get it and get OUT of there before - something happens. So it was on this day that I am referring to. I went to the Garden center to pay - I had parked back there on purpose to avoid the ridiculousness that they call cashiers, lines and whatever else going on up there at the front of the store (I have numerous stories about management and "gelling" with them up there as well). Well, the Garden center exit was opened, meaning that there should have been someone at the register. There wasn't a single employee to be seen, anywhere. I stood there for fully 5 minutes before I whipped out my phone and called Walmart. Yes, I called THAT Walmart from inside the store. I asked the person that answered if they could send someone over to the Garden Center to run the register. At first I was the only one waiting, after a while, there were several people waiting. Well, no-one showed up. I called again, this time asking for the store's manager. They put me on hold. I have been at this Garden center checkout for well over 10 minutes now, waiting for the phantom cashier to show up and now, waiting on hold. I was on hold for several minutes. No-one got back on the phone to tell me they were trying to get the manager on the phone, they were, apparently, just leaving me on hold and that would be the end of that. As fortune would have it, the store's general manager and a bunch of suits came walking up to a department just on the inside of the store, not 50 feet away from me. The suits I assumed were corporate people. I didn't know and I never asked, but they definitely weren't shopping there, lol. I walked up to the manager and asked her if she was ever going to answer the phone? She had no clue what I was talking about. I informed her that I was on hold, right then and there, for HER to answer the phone. This was obviously embarrassing for her, but, I had waited and waited, enough was enough. I explained to her the situation. All of it. We all walked back to the Garden center registers and lo and behold, a cashier had magically appeared. The manager, however, stopped her in the middle of what she was doing with a customer and brought her near where "we", the suits and I, were standing there, watching all of this. She asked the cashier if she has "abandoned her post"? Why yes, was the curt reply, someone had dropped a glass something-or-other and she had to go clean it up. Great, said the manager, but why did you leave the register unattended? Because, the reply came, of the mess on the floor. That cashier was rebuked, right in front of all of us. I will say that that was a pretty poor decision on the manager's part. No matter how bad an employee messes up, you don't go giving out stern rebukes in front of customers, at least that's my opinion of it. But, I said nothing, just listened to it. The manager got done with her and came back to me. Go ahead, you can go now. ??? I had a basket full of stuff. About $75 worth. I was confused. I hadn't paid for anything. I informed her that I hadn't paid for any of the stuff in my cart. She said, yes, I know, you are free to leave now. I mean, Walmart has all kinds of security, they have full time security and they have cameras EVERYWHERE. I wasn't ABOUT to walk out of there without extreme certainty that she was giving me permission to leave without even taking inventory of the items that I had in there. She replied yes, that is all yours, sorry for the inconvenience. I thanked her profusely for the free items, you don't get THAT everyday, anywhere! I walked out of there with all that unbagged, unchecked stuff without a receipt and kept looking behind me. Is this some kind of nightmarish joke? Are they actually going to pay me back for making trouble about it by sending security after me? I continued to keep eyes on the back of my head all the way to my car and even as I was driving out of the driveway!! I gave it 3 stars because usually, if you are willing to contact management, the ending is okay. Getting $75 worth of product for free was definitely a good ending! read more

Only reason it gets 1 star is because I have to give it one. This Walmart is ridiculous. It's the closest one to us, so we go and get our groceries there. Never again. The manager is incompetent and probably graduated from U of A. There are hardly any cashiers available. Out of the three times we have visited this location, it takes us longer to cash out than to shop. I know all Walmarts understaff, but this one takes it to a new extreme. How can you only staff 1 cashier on a Sunday afternoon. read more

The store was fine, but when we were walking out a lady at the door was checking another customers cart before she left because she had bought a TV. My friend and I had only bought three small things and went to walk around her (our receipt clearly in hand) and she yelled "EXCUSE ME" at us and told us to wait for her to check our stuff. It wouldn't have been so bad if she didn't do it so loud and rudely! Nasty lady. read more

I've been shopping at this Walmart for years. They usually have what I need for a great price and never gave me trouble returning things when they didn't work out.
