I have never visited prior to yesterday, my Mom wanted to look for pants. Immediately we met "Brooke", who was amazingly helpful! Came here last Sunday after failing to find a pair of decent black dressier boots from 2 other places. I do have to say that this place never fails as there's always something here for everyone. P.S. I almost failed my counseling requirement for shopaholic anonymous and walked out with 3 pairs! I will also say it seemed like they might have been short staffed with shoes lying around on the floor and cart of handbags on the floor. I happend to notice a mom and her stroller having a hard time squeezing through the shoe isles with the the abandoned handbag cart chilling there. Guess that's the weekend traffic. I normally love Nordstrom rack for the service and sales. But because of my most recent visit doing my mother a favor by taking her returns in for her since we live about 5-7 min down the street from this location i didn't see a problem since we accidentally snagged her returns bag by mistake. I have two little ones with me 99.99% of the time on outings which isn't easier on me now since our newborn (3 months old) isn't the biggest fan of being in her car seat. I also have an almost 4 year old who is notorious for being a master escape artist and constant runner. So it's very very tough for me to make any kind of errand with them. One a day as i like to say is my max. So we get to Nordstrom rack yesterday around 11:20ish in the morning and got into line. One lady was readily available. So we get up to her register and am already met with a frowning face. Great. What a start. Next she takes the receipt and instantly says this isn't on the receipt after i already gave her my moms number who mind you is an avid Nordstrom/nordstrom rack and hautelook shopper. The whole bag was well over 300 dollars worth of clothes minimum. It was almost as though she didn't want to continue to find anything in the bag that matched with the receipt what so ever. So i told her "oh okay. Well whatever you can find i guess?" So she returned about 260 worth of clothes. I said thank you obviously once it was returned and took the two leftover items home and contacted my mom right away to let her know that I couldn't return two items because i didn't have the receipt according to the lady. My mom said she couldn't look it up on my account and according to policies they should be able to but maybe it's a new thing where they can't do that and don't want to be helpful at all. So she finally found the receipts late that night and sent it over to me. With the level of scrutiny this old woman gave me at the register i was so stressed just thinking of stepping foot in there today. I did go back to the store this morning around 11:10AM and go figure there was the ray of sunshine with only one other lady and a larger line. I was absolutely not even going to take a chance and get stuck with that devil of a woman again to be treated like trash when my kids are with me again. But i suppose it's a good thing my kids are with me when i get these nasty attitudes because I'm at my best behavior. I probably would have questioned her attitude if they weren't with me. I want to make sure that other people are aware that if you have a return make sure you have your correct receipts with you or god forbid they have to do more work than usual. The glares and scrutiny will be awaiting you. Or maybe since i have small kids who knows. But definitely will not be back til maybe she passes away in 10-20 years. So we won't be treated like trash. read more

I've visited a couple times since I moved to the area. The store is clean, organized and well-lit. None of the Arizona stores I've visited have much in the home goods areas. They have a good amount of holiday decor. I looked at some pillows for $30. They are nice quality and stylish, but I don't want to pay that much for holiday throw pillows at a discount store. They had tons of clothes on clearance. The styles were okay. The show selection is fabulous. Some prices still a bit high but some great deals on clearance. I purchased two pairs of shoes for my son. Amy L., our cashier, was very nice and polite. She rang us up with no issues and made small talk as we were waiting. Another associate who was stocking was so sweet, too. She's definitely an asset to your store. I'd definitely go back to this location. It's in a nice area with several other stores I visit regularly. read more

This location definitely lacks decent customer service. Employees are not very helpful or even greet you (except for a cashier name kim. I think thats her name. Very lovely). Came in to return an item and the sale clerk ended up trying to trick me into opening a store credit card by shaming me into it. He told me it's free $60, I had a dr appointment to go to in 15 mins, he said "oh, well, if you don't want the FREE $60 from answering a few questions, that's TOO BAD!". So I asked again, and he confirmed it's not a credit card, but when I went to answer the questions, it asked for my SSN, DOB etc. I asked again, why is it asking this information, and that's when he's like well, it's kinda a credit card. That's pretty sneaky for them to make you feel bad and trick you into opening a line of credit! I have his name, but I will not disclose it since Im not a jerk like that. So be aware! read more

Had to ask the name of one of their rude employees. From what I was told it's Andrea. Middle age woman with long black wavy hair. Had my mask on the tip of my nose as it was slipping while I was looking through a rack. She proceeds to approach me and demand I wear my mask higher up. I pulled it up and she then asks me if I need a new mask. Why would I need another mask when I have one... on my face!!!! Andrea needs to work on her rude attitude and learn how to keep her social distance if she's so concerned about Covid. It's Nordstrom Rack... where maybe you find something you like or maybe you don't. This last time worked out as I was looking for some shoes for my kids and if possible something for me. Manage to find something, which is rare as i feel like i'm looking for the common sizes... which they don't have a wide selection... Or I realize that someone with a similar style and taste is beating me to the real good deals!!! ha selection is cool but would suggest to shop when your "not" looking for something in particular as that's when you tend to find some of the best things. I made the mistake of coming into the store looking for 2 "specific" things and really didn't find what I wanted, but found some other items that worked itself out. Nice selection of make up and hair care products which are discounted. They don't have all the colors in the make up but whatever they do have is affordable. They have NYX, Urban Decay, Bobbi Brown, and others. They also had some bathing suits and some were even on clearance but you had to get lucky to find the right size. The Selection: The couple times I've been here, we were looking for specific items. First time, I needed new dress shoes for work. When you don't want to wear your one pair of [enter trendy Italian shoe brand here] around the office, but you want to *appear* like you're sporting your best, it's important to shop around. I found a brown pair and a black pair. Both brands look swanky, fit well, feel good, and only cost me about $100 total. The second visit was a quest to buy new jeans for Erin S. It didn't take her long to find a nice style for $35. The Setup: The space feels a bit cramped, though it appears they try to use the layout to display the maximum amount of clothing possible. When buying shoes, the rack offers one pair to try on, and its partner can be found behind the scenes. Just ask one of the customer service people on the back wall to help you out. In essence, the store looks similar to a TJ Maxx, Marshall's, etc. The Math: Let's talk about your budget. If you want t-shirts in the $10-15 range (I love Target, by the way), you're unlikely to find that here. However, if you can make room to buy the same kind of clothes found in large department stores for about half the price, that's what the Rack is all about. A perfect example is Pyscho Bunny. It's the brand that boasts colorful and high quality menswear, with an endearing bunny skull and crossbones insignia. Their shirts will run you $45 in stores and online. At the Rack, you can fill your closet for only about $20-25 each. Did I mention they have an online store? They do; and the prices and selection are good. Very comparable to a site like JackThreads. This location is my favorite! I used to live near the Biltmore and shopped at Town & Country (not a fan of that location) and this one is just so much better! The layout of the store makes it seem bigger and it is easier to shop the way things are arranged. Nothing is overcrowded and every section is stocked. They have the best selection for baby toys and clothes in my opinion. The employees are very friendly and also helpful if you need help finding anything at all. They have a very flexible return policy which is nice for someone like me who doesn't like trying on clothes in the store. The parking lot can be a little hectic with all of the other shops and food places located in the center, but overall not bad! read more

Worth business I've ever been to! Employees are very very rude and have no respect for anyone.

The cashiers are very insensitive. I was standing for more than 20 minutes in the line where they always attend you to return the items. When the line for regular purchases was very long. A cashier yelled at me from her checkout asking me if I needed something and I told her waiting to be attended for a return and she replied you have to line up again because we only serve one line. I felt very frustrated because several cashiers saw me lined up from the beginning and none of them told me that it was only one line, there are not even signs warning of their changes in the store. read more

Talk about customer service!! Sylvia the manager was so sweet and accommodating. I shop here frequently and was returning a gift I received without a receipt. She helped look up the item and was able to give me a gift card for the amount. I initially walked into the Tempe Market location with no help from management. They basically said "we can't help you" and sent me away. I was seriously contemplating never shopping at the Rack again but thanks to the Chandler location - Ill just continue shopping at this location instead (even though it's much further away). I enjoyed shopping here. Nice selection of shoes to check out. They had some good yoga pants and tops when I was there. I found a couple of DKNY women's underwear that I love. I just go with no expectations, and I usually find something good. It's fun to look at all the weird stuff that I couldn't imagine wearing. Yea some people can be rude while bargain shopping. I was shopping here looking to pass some time after arriving super early for my hair appt. I noticed 2-4 other customers having a horrible experience with one particular employee, I continued shopping then it happened to me. I decided to purchase my items (which I still haven't worn yet) and although shopping at this store was a horrible experience... the cashier was AMAZING!!! She was kind and had amazing customer service!!! I received an email asking me for a survey and was very honest about my unfortunate experience prior to the cashier. To my surprise, I received a call and email from the Store Manager, Tyler. Tyler was SINCERELY apologetic, took responsibility and assured me it would never happen again. Tyler invited me to shop at their store again and to ask for them directly if necessary. I appreciate the personal attention and Tyler sincerely caring about the opinions of hard working customers spending our money!! I would shop here again for sure. read more

Sorry. but this place is so dumb. So they have these racks of shoes, but there is only one shoe on display - the other shoe is in the back. So, you take the shoe you want to the counter, and they bring you the other one. So let me get this straight - you charge the exact same price as a new pair of shoes. except one of the shoes is a floor model that has been tried on and worn by a bunch of people....cool. They literally wanted $70 for a pair of Clarks you can get on Amazon for the exact same price, and $50 for some Asics that you can also get new online for LESS than $50. Why would anyone buy one used shoe and one new shoe for the same price as buying a new pair online? Makes no sense. I also think the products they get might be rejected. Whoa. I saw some very unattractive, poorly made, and surprisingly overpriced fashion at this store today. I have a hard time believing some of this stuff ever made it in to a Nordstrom store; too much "straight to DVD" type attire for my taste. I get that some people see a name brand label and a 50% off sticker and think they're getting a bargain. But ugly is ugly! An oversized polyester blend t-shirt dress with orange paisley piping is hideous! Forget the "Splendid" label and ask yourself - if this same item was "on sale" for $44.97 at JC Penney would I still love it? Anyway, I love the cosmetics/beauty bargains you can only find here, the trendy cover-ups, nighties, and great accessories. It's a hit or miss kind of place. If you chance it when there's a store wide end of season clearance sale, you're in luck. I found so many good things here. You have ti weed through all the outlet crap to find designer pieces. I have a Narcisso Rodriguez pleated gold lamé skirt for a fraction of the price. Armani Exchange vision wear had a surplus and it ended up here last time. Too bad I lost it and in need of replacement soon. As for the men's department, it was disappointing to see to many junky styles. Other than that, the kids section is pretty good! This is really a decent store. read more

My aunt bought me two shirts for Nordstrom Rack. I didn't care for them and visited the store to return them for a refund. I explained the situation and handed the clerk a receipt. She promptly returned the credit to my aunt's credit card. Hey wait. *I* wanted that money. So the clerk made some clicking noises with her tongue, tapped the touchscreen, looked around for help, blushed, stared at the receipt and generally wasted time until a manager finally told her to void the transaction. By the time I received my refund, I was short on time and didn't bother shopping. I did scan the shoe aisle because all shoes with orange tags were on clearance. Four and a half stars would probably be more suitable for my review since it's only the third best place to shop for value in its own parking lot, but since its return policy was so liberal and there's an abundance of hard-to-find brand names, I give it 5. I think other reviewers are confused as to what kind of store this really is. This is not an outlet store and this is not a store where something you liked on Tuesday they'll have more of on Friday. This is a store that sells new (unlike Last Chance in Phoenix) merchandise that is of a previous year or has expired its shelf life in Nordstrom department stores. Because you cannot find your size or color in something you like or because you liked something last week and now you can't find anything is not the fault of the store. This is not a mall store. This is a right-place-right-time store. Find your item in the right size and acceptable color and grab it at a discounted price. Sometimes I do more browsing at Norstrom than actual buying. It's that kind of place. Walk to TJ Maxx and Ross so it's not a wasted trip. The clientele of people that shop at The Rack are also of a higher class. This place could easily look like a Ross Store with all the shoe racks, but it doesn't. Aisles are clean and uncluttered and shoes and clothes seem to stay in their proper places. Employees are consistently walking around restocking things or fielding questions and The Rack puts an appropriate number of people at the registers so that lines move quicker. A few years back NR was very liberal about items it took back. Translation: It took back used items as well as items that didn't even come from Nordstrom. I've heard this from multiple sources, including an employee. Imagine pulling a shirt out of your closet you got from Target and taking it back to a different store for a credit. NR took these items and shipped them to Last Chance, a store on Camelback/Highland that sells new and used merchandise with no chance of returning or exchanging--hence the name. The Rack is not as liberal on returns as it was but it's still a great place to shop. High end brand names in shoes and clothing, a clean store that's easy to move around in, register lines that move and very attractive female customers. read more

I'm a HUGE fan of Nordstrom Rack. Their staff is professional, friendly, and always pleased to help you and serve you - this is based on numerous times going there and them helping me do shoe hunts (that when you find the one R shoe in a size bigger/small you like and then hunt around for the anothe R shoe should be somewhere in your size throughtout all the racks because the kind lady found the L shoe in your size in the back.. and she's helping you out).. or them still being patient and kind with you as those in your shopping party are gazing at nail polish trying to decide on a color when it's past 9pm and they're already closing! Their clothing selection is awesome! I have found awesome going out dresses, work pants, gym clothes, sweaters, etc... for not-cheap, but respectable prices (hey, they're not Ross, so get over it). I also have bought nice jewelry and glasses and purses there ate a considerable markdown and still leather, or a nice fashionable name brand. They have a clean store, friendly staff, frequent spottings of clearance shoe/clothing racks AND they have this nifty debit card you can get (not a credit card) that earns you points for using it there.. I'm not THAT big of a shopaholic to require one, but if you're gonna shop there frequently, might as well earn points (and cash) while doing it. David , The store manager was of NO HELP at ALL AND would not do a return on an item that I bought yesterday that was a $350 item because he said that whoever put the tag on the item at the other location where I bought it they put the wrong tag on there therefore I have to drive 45 minutes to another location to try and get my return tho I have tags starched with receipt !!!! As I I explained to him this is NOT the customers fault and I should not have to do that and he said yes that's the way it works and he didn't help me at all and FRANKLY WAS REALLY RUDE and unapologetic !! I am now driving clear to another location to try and get my money back I am never coming to Nordstrom Rack again or any of them for that matter!!! read more

In all of my shopping adventures at The Rack, I've found each day can be hit or miss. Some days they have very little selection of high quality clothing and other times I've seen $700 high-end designer dresses marked down to $30. They key, I've found, is to go on the days when their new merchandise arrives straight from Nordstrom. I somehow got on the Nordstrom mailing list, which I don't mind because they send postcards with the dates of these fashion events when new shipments arrive. These are the dates when the best selection of designer clothing comes straight from Nordstrom. So, if you can make it a point to show up, you're bound to find what you're looking for at a bargain. read more

I've visited this location several times, and agree with Julie that it's hit-or-miss. But I guess that's how most of these outlet-type stores are. While the selections of jeans, sweaters, shoes and purses are OK, I think this is a great place to come for dresses. If you have a wedding or some big cocktail party to go to, you can get a really good deal on dresses.
