I've come here for years...usually get great service. But not today. I walked in at 4:30. The sales guy asked me how he could help. I told him I needed two pair of dress slacks, two pair casual, and two pair of jeans. All he did basically was show me where stuff was...was totally disinterested in asking me any questions, if I needed help, nothing. Oh...but he did remind me "we close in 25 minutes." So I tried on a few pair of pants...didn't fit. It sure would have been mice to have someone to help find me the right size. Then another associate passed me...not to ask if she could help...but to remind me they close in 15 minutes. So I just gave up and walked out. So disappointed. I walked i there expecting to drop anywhere from $600 - $1,000...and the two sales people were more interested in closing at five that providing service. Guess they didn't need the sale. Also...they gotta know...a lot of men (me anyways) ...shopping isn't our thing. But we still hafta do it. They should be more aware when a guy walks in...maybe he needs help picking out sizes, colors, what matches and what not. And I don't care if they had to stay open past closing. I was a customer and inside before they locked the doors. A good salesperson would have provided service, and made a huge sale. Just walked out of this place with out being offered any help was told the basic hello and the basic good bye, observed other people that came in get asked if they needed help but not me, not sure if I was being judged by the way I was dressed cause I have on shorts with a faded black t-shirt and a backwards hat. If I was shouldn't have mattered as I was looking for dress clothes for my sister's wedding. I was looking at the dress shirts, slacks, vest and blazers. I even went closer the to rep working I believe her name was griselda to even try and give her a chance to ask if I needed help but nothing she made a comment on getting crickets in the store and having to clean them up. All while I was looking at a polo button up shirt...(hello sale!) It's very limited where people like me can go buy stuff to wear and this is one of the places.... Don't think I will want to step foot in here again. I live in Maricopa and this is the nearest place to me for big dress clothes, I rather drive further to another store if I'm going to be ignored here. read more

So I used to frequent this store regularly. Recently I've lost some weight and was in need of some new dress pants. I went in today and no one greeted or offered to help. I found what I wanted to try on and had to walk up to the register to ask someone to unlock the dressing room in the back. I needed help reaching a shirt on the top rack. A woman associate saw me struggling and didn't offer to help. I left 3 pair of pants and 3 shirts on the floor whereni was standing and left. I ended up spending $350 across the street at Dillard's. We have had great experiences at this location and mediocre experiences at this location. The staff seems to turn over quite frequently which makes all the difference, of course. Today's visit started out fine with my son and I just browsing and when I asked for a fitting room the irritating over-zealous sales approach reared it's ugly head causing us to leave without purchasing anything, not because we didn't find anything but because it is infuriating having someone follow you through the store with a constant chatter in your ear when you've said three times that you are just browsing and will let them know when you are ready! Destination XL replaced the Big and tall male XL store in the same complex several months ago. It's the same company, but with a broader selection. Steve has helped me out each time I've come in, and he has always been extremely personable and helpful. At first I was skeptical of some of the styling choices he picked out for me, however, when you put it all together it looks amazing. These guys know how to make you look good. You just have to trust them. The store is definitely tailored for us big and tall guys, and they have everything we need to look good for any occasion, be it lounging around the house, working out, or dressing things up a bit. I'm glad to have one of these on this side of the valley. It's well stocked, easy to navigate, and has great service; what else can you ask for? Oh... Tailoring? It has that too. They just got some clothes tailored for a wedding I'm going to! read more

Well a Sara Bloom responded to my original review(9/3/21). She is the regional sales manager for this area DXL. She said as a token of her appreciation for me making the extra effort to go to the Gilbert store , she would be sending me a gift card to use towards a future purchase. I have not received it as of today. (9/20/21) I have emailed her twice about it, and have received no reply. I guess this is how much DXL VALUES ITS CUSTOMERS. read more

I went here over the weekend with my very tall, 6'5, son! He was purchasing shirts and ties and the sales lady couldn't have been more helpful. She measured him and asked what he was looking for, walked us to the proper area and continued to help make selections HE was comfortable with. I wish I would have gotten her name so she could receive the accolades she deserves. All I know is, she's an Ohio State fan. If you're fortunate enough to find her you'll be in good hands. The selection of shirts, at the time, in his size wasn't abundant but it was enough he got what he needed and I know he will be returning. There is also a location, at Arrowhead, nearer his home and I'm hoping things go as well for him there. They also keep records of sizes to make it easy for him to shop online or for me to purchase items for him. read more

Great experience. The staff are all very helpful and did a great job making me feel welcome. There is a great selection to choose from. The only obstacle for me would be there seems to be a couple price points and much more inventory in some of the higher points. I'm not doubting they are worth that much at all, but I can only spend so much on clothes. I completely spent a few more dollars than intended too but I really enjoy what I got. If I could leave a 0 star review, I would. Ladies. Beware. My husband and I went in to pick out shirts for work. The associate who assisted us could not have been more disrespectful. He ignored me the entire time, only speaking to my husband. Whenever I said anything, he looked so disgusted. Referred to me as "little lady" or "young girl". When we needed a size that wasn't in stock, he suggested a few things. 1) Have the "little lady at home" move the button the the neck and 2) just not button it and tie the tie without the button being buttoned. It's a $60 shirt. When we declined his suggestions, he begrudgingly ordered it. When he learned that we were married he said to my husband "see? You do have someone at home to sew that for you." I informed him that I do not sew, and my husband is perfectly capable of learning to do so himself. When we went to leave, he shook my husbands hand and said "thank you sir" and looked at me and nodded, "little lady". We will not be returning to this store as long as this gentleman works there. read more

They have a great selection of clothes for my hubby --casual, date night and business casual. The sales associates are friendly and helpful in pulling down the out of reach inventory. A pushy obnoxious gentleman used to work at this location but transferred to the Las Vegas store. Glad he's no longer servicing this store! Now we feel comfortable shopping here without his rude and unprofessional tactics bombarding us each time we visit. Wish they had coupons available online for in store use. The coupons received by mail for spending a certain dollar amount seem to take a while to arrive and aren't used at our convenient shopping outings. So we end up spending buco bucks most times we shop here. DXL should step up there discounts and coupons. read more

Excellent store with a very large selection. Recently moved here form out of state. Where I come from these stores are called "Casual Male". They are much smaller then this store and carry no where near the selection. Nice to walk into a store and actually see the clothes you see online for once. The staff was pleasant. I love this store because they have all the top brand names in clothing for the plus size individuals. Who says you can't have beautiful clothes and be a plus size person. The store is amazing. All the displays are matched perfectly and it's easy to get around in the store. The staff gets an A+ in my book for customer service. I have been a customer for over eight years and highly recommend this company. If you are a large man and want to find quality clothes in your size that actually fit - this is the place for you. Customer Service is like the good old days when stores actually served you and the staff is knowledgeable of their merchandise. Had been to several places looking for a suit, but sizes were hard to find. Had never stepped in the store before despite living in the area. Went in and was very pleasantly surprised.
