Incredible service, great quality and selection. The sales gal who used to wear a vintage green dress was so delightful in her customer service. A real pro. A great experience overall and I can't recommend this store enough. Thank you for all of the years of serving us the customer. read more

The Shoe Mill has a nice collection of quality sandals and shoes. There are men's and women's selections to choose from. There is currently a sale to take advantage of. Most shoes are in European sizes. Staff can help you find the correct sizing for you. Street and lot parking. read more

I love this store and hope it stays around for at least as long as it's already been around. It's a great place to go if I'm going on vacation and need comfortable walking shoes or if I need a new pair of shoes for work. They always provide amazing customer service and are willing to bring you out styles that fit your taste and budget. This place is a great independent Tempe mainstay. read more

I've been dealing with orthopedic issues so I had to purge my closet and look for more foot friendly shoes. The Shoe Mill has an amazing selection and Mindi, who I believe is the owner, is incredibly efficient and knowledgeable. I bought two pairs of shoes and I also bought Birkenstock inserts which has turned out to be life-changing. We live in Scottsdale, but totally worth the trek. This place is a gem. read more

What a great experience here. I had been to a few shoe stores in the Phoenix and Mesa area but their selection was pretty sparse. But this store has so many shoes and brands. And the 2 women who were working the day I shopped were hustling. There were several customers in the store and they kept the suggested shoe offerings flowing, and were friendly and and helpful. I was surprised to find 2 pairs when shoe shopping is always frustrating to me. read more

The best customer service and a wonderful selection. Bought my first pair of Birkenstocks here in the 80s! Hands down the best shop in the valley to go to for stylish comfort shoes. read more

Great help in finding the best Birkenstock for my feet!! Really appreciated the sales associate focus on me. We looked at a lot of options and she provided excellent advice with no urgency. read more

A very nice shoe selection with very good service! They actually bring the shoes to you, help you try them on, and put them away. Old-fashioned wonderful customer service. read more

Hellen is wonderful! She went above and beyond. Love this place and the selection. Thanks so much

Great little shoe store! Mostly for women's shoes but they have a small male section. Lack of variety aside their customer service and helpfulness would have them at a 5 read more

The Shoe Mill - Shoe Stores Near Me - Tempe, Arizona

They were busy when I was in on a weekend morning, but still the staff was super helpful! I couldn't choose just one summer sandal, so left with two new pair of comfy shoes. read more

Love this store but when I came today 2 clients were maskless even though there was clearly a sign on the door. Employees were masked don't know why they can't hand out a few 20 cent masks... I come to this store at least twice/year snd always leave eith something. Not today! read more

Such a fun small business! I have been a regular customer since I was at ASU in the 90's! If you want to feel classy come here because this is a shoe store that will put your shoes on for you, just like the old days. These workers can tell you the background/story about every shoe in the store without being pushy. I came in this week after not being there since the pandemic and it reminded me of the commitment and amazing customer service that these women provide. Please not only give them a chance but ask for recommendations and they will bring out 100 shoes to try on just for fun! My husband even enjoys joining me just for the fun conversation between me and the girls. Bring your friends or make friends at the store. Highly recommend. read more

Was very disappointed today. Drove 30 minutes to shop at this store. There were two people working, one on the phone the other roaming around. I was looking and wanted to try some shoes on and neither person said hello, offered to help, nothing!! Told my boyfriend let's just go, we were walking out and that's when one of the associates said, thanks for coming in. Ridiculous!!!! read more

OMG. This place is outstanding. If you are looking for quality and comfortable shoes, look no further. Not only do the staff/owners know "shoes" but they carry all the high quality stuff. I was so glad I found this place and won't go anywhere else. Thank you Mindy and team! read more

Walked in with my mom so she could buy some shoes. The girls working there must have been having a bad day because my mom wasn't treated well at all. Tall /red head in a green dress threw a box of shoes on the ground so close to my mom because my mom didn't like the style that was brought to her. What a shame- we would have bought every pair that fit and had a good style. Bad service. Bad attitude. For no solid reason. read more

If you are not past 70, or a yuppy hippy this store is not for you. Completely overpriced, most sandals for women were over $100 and looked like something my granny donated to goodwill. They carry all sorts of birkenstockesque kinda shoes. They boast "comfort" shoes, but who cares where you are walking when your feet look that ugly. I'll sacrifice a bit of comfort for a hot pair of wedges any day. read more

The BF and I went here tonight after getting a Groupon for this store (40$ for 80$..pretty sweet). We got there about 10 minutes before closing, which was very rude of us, but the people who were working there didn't seem to mind and still gave us outstanding service! So much so that the woman who worked there offered to gift wrap a pair of shoes for us...even when we kept them late. The place has a good selection of comfortable and specialty shoes and I like supporting a local business. Give this place a shot the next time you need a nice pair of shoes! read more

Needed to find comfortable but firm sole shoes after a stress fracture of my left foot. Found this store on Yelp and went yesterday. The friendliest and most patient salespeople. My husband bought a pair of Naot shoes which he loved and was on sale 1/2 price. After trying on many pairs of shoes I bought two pairs of Naot Sandels . Love this store. I think the salesgirl was Lindsey not sure but everyone in the store was warm and friendly! I will be back again and again! read more

I have come to this store many times because it's a pillar of Mill Ave.. they've been here as long as I can remember and I've always known it for comfort, quality (note, not hip, sexy, and cheap) made shoes... so, for those looking for hip, sexy, cheap shoes.. not for you. They do have some cute shoes that aren't 'granny' looking, but then again 'granny' may be all in the eye of the beholder.. at least for me, I have frequently seen cute shoes here that are usually over $80, so it's not like I buy gobs of them. BUT, when my mother in law needed quality, comfortable, long-lasting shoes for her job, I found her the perfect pair here... not cheap, but I'm pretty confident her shoes will last her a long time considering the manufacturer and quality of the sole and leather. Expensive, non stiletto-sexy girl shoes, but comfortable, quality-made shoes and personal customer service from this pillar of Mill Ave.. I'm a fan! read more

I've loved this place since I set foot on Mill Ave back in the 90's. I've reached that point in my life (ahem...old) where I'm comfortable with comfortable shoes. There. I said it. Out loud. Sorta. I travel, walk and present while standing entirely too much during my work day to let a cheap pair of shoes get in the way , no matter how cute they are. Lucky for me, there's The Shoe Mill and they're great assortment of comfortable yet stylish (as they can be) "comfort shoes". Sure, they've got the Dansko's and Birks that you expect but they also carry Rainbows, Havianas, Prives and European brands (Fly from London- so cute!) in styles you don't see at the mall (men's and women's). To boot, they're one of the few retailers of Tano leather handbags (seriously an amazing investment bag that actually looks better over time) and HOBO clucthes/wallets in non-standard supply. Yes, they're a little pricey, but those are your feet you're standing on. Best of all, the service is extremely knowledgable, helpful and fun (at times a little too perky but it's so much better than the norm you get at other retailers). read more

Love this place. It's on Mill and filled with all the wonderful, good for your feet, shoes that any woman could want! The prices are high, but they carry all of the high-end healthy feet shoes, so that is expected. You know, those shoes you buy for over $100 and end up wearing for the next 5 years? The girl who helped me was unbelievably kind and helpful. I don't remember her name but she was a really beautiful younger African American girl. She was great! I will be back for all my Dansko/Sanita shoe needs. read more

A great selection of very high quality men's (and women's) comfort and mostly fashionable shoes and sandals. [Not the place to go for athletic sneakers or runway style formal shoes.] Most of their men's shoe and sandal options take into account that we live in a warm and dry climate. Ask for Ashley, she has excellent taste, a helpful and not pushy attitude, and she totally got it when I explained what works for best for my feet. The only negative, is when you purchase anything and then see the exact same item in another competitors store (or, on the manufacture web site) at a much lower cost your out of luck for any credit back. Keep up the great work Ashley. We'll definitely ask for you again next time. read more

Very knowledgable and friendly staff, they know their products well. Trail runners, dress shoes, clogs, sandals, Vibram five fingers, burks. It's worth a visit. read more

I bought my first pair of Birkenstock clogs here. The person who helped me looked at my feet and instantly guessed my size. One or two months into my first pair, the strap on the shoe broke. I gave them a call and it was replaced instantly, with no hassle. This is why I always support local businesses first. When they get in 37 bostons again, I'll go in to get another pair read more

EXCELLENT customer service!!! I used to go to ASU and didn't even know this place existed until recently. We had to get a gift for my fiancé's father and we knew he wanted Birkenstocks. This place has THEM ALL. Literally, they have a wall of Birkenstocks to choose from. And the two ladies helping us were SO NICE! I highly recommend them for the outstanding service. Prices were on par with what we found elsewhere (Birks aren't cheap) but the selection (size and colors) was what sold it. Thank you so much for al your assistance! read more

If you're in the market for a new pair of Birkenstocks, this is the place to go. They have a large selection but whether or not they have your size in the style and color you want is another story. The Shoe Mill carries many other shoe brands, all of them leaning more on the side of comfort, than fashion. Definitely worth checking out if you spend hours on your feet and are in the market for something comfortable. Staff is helpful and accommodating. read more

Great customer service, selection, location and sales. Have gotten three pairs here so far. Love my Reiker shoes especially. Love shopping here rather than Macy's or Kierland. This is my new shoe source. read more

This business should probably change their hours to the correct schedule. I drove 30 minutes to pick up shoes I had on hold thinking they closed at 9:00. Got here at 7:02 on Friday and they were closed. Everywhere online says they are open until 9:00 on Friday and Saturday. So I'm pretty pissed because I've now wasted an hour of driving to this store and now back home. read more

We were visiting Phoenix area and I wanted a new pair of Birkenstock's. I checked Yelp for the best store in the area. As previously mentioned, the store is pricey but Birkenstock are any way. Helen assisted us immediately upon entering and got me fitted and setup with new sandals immediately with several options. I then wanted my wife to get something and for the next 30 mins my wife tried on atleast 20 different shoes. Helen was fabulous and kept the shoes coming so my wife could make a good choice. Yes I did spend a lot of money and I normally dont like to spend a lot, but after the excellent customer service and hospitality I didnt mind. The store sells quality merchandise which is pricey, but you get what you pay for. If I ever come back to the area and need shoes or sandals, I will be back to see Helen. Great store and service!!! read more

Amazing store! Privately owned - I love buying shoes from a private owner, they always try harder and have great customer service like this little shop. I tried on a million shoes but the clerk was so friendly and cheerful through it all. I ended up buying two pair of shoes - both on sale which was a bonus - one was Josef Seibel and was was something else but both VERY comfortable. I have bunions and flat feet, so this is definitely the place to go if you have foot problems. Worth the drive from Green Valley, Arizona! read more
