Unfortunately, my experience with a pair I purchased from Cowtown Boots in Tempe, Arizona, in February of twenty twenty-four has been nothing short of disappointing. I was on a business trip to Arizona and decided to pick up a nice pair of boots while I was there. I had been wearing Ariats at the time, but I wanted something different and knew Cowtown made their own brand of boots. While I hadn't necessarily heard great things about them, I was familiar with the name and figured they'd be a good choice. Nine months later, I'm regretting that decision. The soles now have multiple holes, and the heel flaps are coming off. For context, I live on twenty acres in Montana, but I don't do heavy ranch work--these boots are worn for everyday use. Typically, I get about two of solid wear out of a pair before needing repairs. Seeing these fall apart after less than a year of light use is shocking. I reached out to the store where I purchased them, and they referred me to corporate. When I called corporate, I was essentially told there's nothing they can do--no warranty, no acknowledgment of the premature wear, and no offer to make it right. They did offer to re-sole them, but only if I paid out of pocket. I understand no one can guarantee how long a product will last, but to hear "that's just the way it is" after explaining my long history with boots and reasonable expectations was frustrating. It's clear Cowtown Boots isn't standing by its products or its customers. I'm writing this not to vent, but to call attention to what seems like a drop in quality and customer care. For a company with such a strong reputation in the Western wear community, I expected much better. I hope they take this feedback seriously and reconsider how they handle these situations. Until then, I can't recommend these boots--or the company--to anyone who expects reliability and customer support to match the price tag.

First off, this store is huge, and I don't think I've ever seen so many graphic tees in one place in my entire life. Seriously, the amount of shirts they have is insane! If there's a rock or heavy metal band you like, there's a pretty good chance they have a shirt for it. They also have tons of other clothing, studded accessories, and all sorts of things that fit that rock and gothic style. They also have a really good selection of horror movie merchandise. We saw stuff from Terrifier, Scream, Friday the 13th, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and plenty of other horror-related items. Beyond the clothing, they have some really cool décor, skulls, insect-themed decorations, and all sorts of unique things you probably aren't going to find at your typical retail store. One thing that stood out to me was the quality of everything. Nothing really looked cheap or chintzy. A lot of the merchandise seemed well made, and you could tell this wasn't just a store full of cheap novelty items. The couple of employees we crossed paths with were really nice and offered to help if we needed anything, which was appreciated. The store itself is packed with merchandise, but that's also part of what makes it fun to walk around and explore. My only minor complaint would be the prices. They're a little on the higher side, but nothing outrageous. You're definitely paying a bit of a small specialty shop premium compared to something you'd pick up at Walmart, but the selection and quality seem to make up for that. Overall, this is a really cool store, even if you're just browsing. If you're into rock, heavy metal, horror movies, or gothic-style clothing and décor, this is definitely a place worth checking out. Roller skates - they don't have them, but you can do a bearing replacement on cheap skates here and that will spiff any rollers right up. My wife snagged some at the next door Big Five and put some Bones in them; buttery smooth. Longboards - they have some. Mostly pintail shape, not a lot of kick tail styles or cruisers. Pretty limited to a handful. But longboards have been in short supply in general, and they at least have the bases covered. Expect to put in $120-$180 here for a longboard, but a good one. They carry a local brand, White Wave, Sector 9, and Globe. Limited selection, but quality. Skateboards - they can build almost anything. Tons of decks to choose from, this would be their specialty. Not a skateboarder myself, can't weigh in for quality. Trucks - they had some, and they were shiny. I also don't mess with trucks that often Wheels - longboard and skateboard wheels available; not a ton of longboard brands, but several sizes. 75mm OJ, Sector 9 70mm, and some much cheaper local brand stuff. Bearings - they have your classic Bones family, including ceramics. Buy them and they will install them for you. Makes any board feel new again. Not as good of a selection as Sidewalker Surfers but save yourself the pain and just come here, Freedom is a lot better/less toxic/more human.

I recently moved closer, so I took the first opportunity I could to take a look at their goods in person yesterday...I was a little taken aback at how small the space is. From the moment I walked up to the front door- I was shocked to see that, that many people could have been waiting in line for hours and that the store would have enough merchandise to accommodate ALL those customers?! That said, I found the shop inside decorated in that retro style very suitable & quaint, but also only about 8 racks spread out openly throughout the store. The prices in my opinion were ridiculously high except for the $10 clearance rack by the front entrance. Even at that, many shirts I found stained, logos cracking/fading, with holes, or paint marks and overall just not in great condition for the cost! Additionally, they do have some pants, jackets and hoodies as well. Employees never welcomed us in. Too busy eating sandwiches. Find it very unprofessional to eat your food on the floor and at the registers counter to boot! They buy daily for vintage. You'll receive cash or credit. Generally, you will get more in store credit than in cash. Currently, they're accepting winter items and are being very "picky" ( as the two employees told me) about t-shirts. Odd since that's mainly what they carry & with that Tik Tok craze you'd think they would have needed a heck of a lot more merchandise unless it didn't fair well? Yet, again it's a small space with not a lot to offer, so wondering if they have things in storage and they rotate often or seasonally? Doubtful this will be a place I'd return. Think you can get more money by selling your goods on-line thru numerous apps. Or, going to a thrift store and finding vintage gems!
