Was there first thing, on the Saturday following Thanksgiving, and it was relatively empty! Score. No fighting for sizes when there's only one left or having to maneuver around folks who look lost! I found way too much and was luckily working, so had a finite amount space in my luggage, so I couldn't go crazy. What am I thinking?!? I'm a flight attendant, so I just filled a packable bag with my goods. It was filled with a nice assortment of sweaters! The store was really organized and clean. The valley has multiple locations but I always find this one to be my number two choice location because it's close to home and they typically get new and high-quality items much more frequently than some of the other locations. It's always easy to get a staff member to look for a size or pull up a location that may have something I looking for if they don't. If your a Rack Shopper then this will be up your alley. If your not, then your still good... just do like me, show up during the weekday, and limit yourself to what you looking for. For me, it's always men's shoes to start (Size 13 please) followed by kids shoes, then dress shirts, clearance racks by size, and then then the register to get out in 20 mins. Also Plenty of parking in front of the store. Would be great if they were able to accept ApplePay or any electronic payment to make it even easier. read more

I am a male and I enjoy being fashionable. There... I admitted it. I generally wear upscale, high quality, classic looks that I can wear for years. That being said, I also like getting great deals I like Nordstroms at the mall, but never had that great of luck finding super deals at Nordstrom Rack. It is a nice store and friendly employees. We came here to walk around and shop on 6/29/21. This particular Nordstrom Rack was organized and looked clean when compared to other locations that I had been to in the past. It was fairly large and everything was labeled so it was easy to find what we were looking for. Just like other locations, sometimes they might not have something which was okay but when they do have it, the price would be a lot lower than the original price. I was at the Nordstrom Rack for about 30 mins. Everyone left me alone about the mask - that I have a legitimate medical waiver against. After picking out 5 or 6 items - the cashier made a huge deal out of my not having a mask despite my waver, that I offered to show her. If this how Nordstrom Rack treats people who are blind, deaf or other disabilities? It seams as so... Walked in here with a return and the cashier turned me away. I asked her why they couldn't return and she didn't give me an answer. She said she would ask the manager (who was right next to her) and he didn't even come over to look at the item - just simply said no. The funniest part is I drove to the Chandler location and they returned the item NO PROBLEM. ZERO issues. I even asked if this was something they normally didn't return and she said "It's not a problem - you have the packaging and the item has not been used". She took her time to look up the item with a telephone number and I was given a gift card (all I expected in the first place). It's interesting how you can have such different experiences based on management. I recommend going to the Chandler location if you don't want lazy customer service. Thanks to the Chandler location for saving me as a customer. I shop at Nordstrom Rack frequently and have NEVER ran into an issue like this. Would not recommend this location. read more

The shopping experience was effected by the fitting room employee. She was constantly shouting as a reminder to everyone to bring out the clothes on the hangers, even after initially asking you to when told which side to go. Resulted in me more focused on that to miss out on leaving a pair of shoes in their "cubbies" for the fitting room. I'm SO bummed I left those beauties behind. read more

Each location does differ and this one has much more purses and cosmetics than other locations I've been too. The shoe dept isn't so great here because it's not what the real Nordstom sells....It's more like what TJ Maxx sells. Average shoes not high end shoes. The other problem at this location is that their is NO HELP ON THE FLOOR. I wanted to look at a pair of earrings in a locked case but not one person is on the floor. I did purchase something and told the cashier. The cashier said to me that at this store if you want something in a locked case then you have to wait in line and get the cashier to help you. Cleanliness and customer service I give you a 5 but if a DM ever tried to shop for bedding, curtains, home goods you'd know the frustration. As a consumer in the day and age that retailers are making it easier and easier to let us order from Amazon while complying that Amazon is the devil. Most big chain retailers don't give a s*** about the horrible customer service that drives their bottom line in the toilet. Doesn't seem like that with Target. Your customer service is usually pretty good. True my standards have been lowered over the years. I've men in retail upper management most of my career. Retired now. So stop disappointing me w/your constant out if stocks on these items. The male associate that helped me today was great. Offered to find matching curtains from another Target. Its 117° here today. I was looking for a quick fix. Not travel in this heat. It's not that hard to keep enough stock on pillow shams. Your buyers should know that if you have 2 queen comforters to have a min of 6 shams. Same w/drapes. It took me 3 trips to the Scottsdale Target to get 4 matching drapes. The hook only holds 2. Each time I came back there was 1 on the hook! We shouldn't have to do your guess work. Maybe I'm just heat bitching now but I ended up leaving a cart w/a min of $600. After changing my mind on colors to get what I needed. I could not succeed. Sorry for your loss. I saw some shoes today 07/27 that I also saw last winter but they were dirty and box was dusty. I walked to Ross to think if I'm going to go back to get those dirty shoes or what. I recently visited this location with my husband. I immediately headed over to the office separates displays. After several minutes I noticed that a particular security guard kept watching us. Af first I thought I was paranoid so I shrugged it off. I walked a few feet over to a different direction and there he was. I found it offensive that the store was packed but he decided to watch us because: 1) we are two minorities in a predominately white store. 2) I am a regular patron of your department stores and spend on average of about $1k at your chandler & Scottsdale locations monthly. 3) we gave him no reason to believe we were doing anything wrong but minding our own business. Thank you for truly ruining my shopping experience. I'll be going to Neiman or Sak's from now on for my work attire. We loved our first visit here. We called before we went and Dulce answered the phone and told us she had a Vitamix blender that we were looking for in Stock. She said she had one that normally goes for $600 at a low price of only $250. We got to the store and the greeter called up Dulce. Dulce brought the blender to us from the back somewhere. We opened the box and searched the model # and confirmed that it does in fact normally go for $600. Dulce was nice enough to check us out with some kind of mobile device she had. We didn't even have to wait on the long line they had. Dulce really made our visit worthwhile. Give her a promotion already! She's a good worker. The store had some good deals on shoes, shirts and coats. There was a lot of cool accessories and snacks as well. We'll have to come back again when the store isn't closing in 10 minutes so we can really see what they have to offer. read more

I have never experienced such horrible customer service in my entire life. The Manager Deb believes that her employees are right and the customer is wrong. I went to this store to get three specific items for this evening and spent over $200 on clothing. I got home after a 1.5 hour round trip and realized that the shirts I came there for I did not receive. I called and Deb said that there was nothing that she could do for me inconvenience. I really like this store. Most everything is 50 - 70% off. Mostly I just buy makeup. It changes all the time from what they carry so I check in about every other month. They currently have Smashbox On The Rocks palette, Lorac, Pulp Fiction palette. They have a small selection of plus size wear. Occasionally I find something I like. They have racks and racks of ladies wear as well as a kids dept and men's. They carry a large selection of shoes of every size. For us ladies with large feet they have sizes 11-13. Yeah! In addition to clothes they carry some home items like towels and pillows. read more

Rude customer service. I was about to buy Stuart Weitzman boots and noticed there were scratches all over the leather. The price tag was $200 for these boots, which is completely unacceptable with the scratches. I asked if there was anyway that she could discount the shoes due to the scratches or if there was any leather polish she could recommend. She replied shortly with a rude hastiness "We don't do discounts, and "I don't recommend anything". Extremely rude. For that price, the least she could do was try to polish the shoes to remove some of the scratches. As I was about to walk out, she forgot to put one of my items in the bag, which I'm sure was on purpose. I'm disappointed and dissatisfied with the quality of customer service at Nordstrom, and unfortunately I've had similar bad experiences at the main department store in Scottsdale. I don't understand why Nordstrom hires incompetent sales associates. The manager should not tolerate such rude behavior to customers. I won't be shopping here again, which saddens me. I was not serviced at check out for about 15 minutes when there was clearly an available associate behind the register who pretended to be busy doing nothing. Two other employees came to the front, and as sad as I hate to say it, the minority was the first to wave me to her register. The employee who didn't wait on me for the 15 minutes gladly took the next customer (blonde white woman) to a register. They also didn't give me a bag for the items I purchased and rather shoved them at me. When I asked for a bag, they gave me some grocery store bag and sent me out. It is unfortunate that Nordstrom Rack does not accept Apple Pay or other forms of mobile payments. I am irritated that it is 2019 and they still haven't updated their systems to allow us to use this convenient and secure form of payment. Apple pay is more secure than using a card. When a transaction is made a token unique to that transaction is sent to the retailer. The retailer never receives the actual account number. Unfortunately I wasted my evening shopping for things I could not purchase because they don't accept this form of payment, and the rack lost a $300 sale. Some may say it's their prerogative to accept what forms of payment they want, but in a world where online shopping is taking over I don't see the benefit in the refusal of mobile payments. read more

I really enjoy The Rack, I am so happy they opened one in Tempe. I sometimes though feel like it's a hit or miss at this location. They really cater to the college crowd which is fine but it's hard to find business attire for me. I have never had this problem at the Chandler or North Scottsdale locations. I visited in hopes to find a nice pair of shoes for my daughter, the store is tiny, the aisles are very narrow, the shopping carts are really ugly, noisy and made of strong metal, I will suggest to park you car far away from the store if you don't want to get dents on your car. Patrons at this store likes to keep the aisles for themselves I counted 4 persons, I felt so frustrated, shopping should be a nice and relaxing experience right? Also I can imagine there's a lot of shoplifting at this store, I saw a mom changing her daughter shoes for new ones and saying o we are going to pay now...I don't know if they did, but I think narrow aisles helps for this kind of things to happen. I left disappointed, their stock of items is very limited usually I always buy something I felt weird my cart was empty because I didn't find anything to buy. Over the past several years, Nordstrom Rack stores have annoyed me to the point that I basically don't shop there anymore. The vast majority of clothing they carry is actually made just for Rack stores -- it was never intended to be sold anywhere else. The savings you see on the price tags and receipts are made up. (Note how the price tags all say "compare at" and then list some higher price. This is because the "compare" word lets them legally make it seem like you are getting a bargain.) If you are looking for a true outlet--a place where you can by the same quality stuff that is sold in regular Nordstrom stores, this is no longer the place for you. read more
