My partner and I stopped by this Ross location, April 23, 2026 to pick up a few items. While we don't frequent this chain often, our checkout experience ensures we won't be returning. ​We paid at the registers right next to the exit. The entire time the cashier was ringing us up, a security guard stood at the door staring at us. Despite watching our entire transaction take place from start to finish, the moment my partner finished paying, the guard demanded to see a receipt. I stepped in and refused. It is completely unacceptable to watch a customer actively pay and then immediately treat them like a shoplifter. I finished paying for my things, told him the conversation was over, and walked out. A second security guard was much more polite and wished us a good day, which we appreciated, but the damage was done. ​If receipt-checking is strict store policy, it needs to be clearly posted at the entrance, registers, and exit. More importantly, security needs better training on customer service. Frowning, staring, and treating paying customers with suspicion is entirely uncalled for. It's all about how you treat people, and we will not be shopping here again. read more

My intuition told me to go see for myself so, I get there to find that, not only did they have the item but they actually did have several of this item. So i did and waited patiently, i had another lady helping with my items and asked if i could see something. The lady helping me and my husband continued but KELLY was asked to help. This Ross was terrible. Walked in at 9:30 on Saturday and I figured okay I still have about two hours to shop... I found a few cute things and put them in my cart. I then decided to try on some dresses and I headed to the fitting room... I left my accessories in the cart, (wallet, backpack, hairbrush, makeup items) and headed into the fitting room... I spent about 20 minutes trying on and when I walked out my freakin cart was GONEEEEEEEEE. When i asked the employee if she had seen it she said that one of the employees had taken it... WTF... At this point I wanted to leave the three dresses and just not buy anything.. I decided whatever I can go look for the items, so I did. Nothing was where I had picked them from because my stuff was just sitting at the front register... one of the cashiers, which I'm assuming was the girl who put my stuff up there, just looked at me and rolled her eyes. I go to pay and another bratty girl rang me up. No "hi" nothing. She just grabbed my stuff with a nasty look. Never coming to this Ross nor do I recommend it to anyone. The most ridiculous service I've ever seen. Two cashier slow as molasses, one girl that looked like she was managing them standing up front doing nothing, and 20 people in line. We waited there about 20 minutes and the two cashiers never finished with their original customers they had when we got there. No one ever looked at the customers in line for said anything about how long they had been waiting. We set our purchases down and walked out. Your average Ross. This is a great location to find Nike golf polos for a fraction of the original cost. I personally never had any luck at finding decent athletic shoes at this location. I would recommend checking it out if you're near Tempe Marketplace, but there are better Ross' in the area for shoes and athletic gear. read more

I came in to shop and was almost happy with my trip until I came to checking out. I was checking out and I stepped on a security tag. The part you literally stab into the clothing stabbed into my heel! I said ouch and grabbed my foot and all the lady checking me out said was oh and continued on with checking me out without any reason to ask if I'm okay or NOTHING. Then after checking out she immediately moved to the next customer. When I left I told the receipt checker that they need to check the floors at checkout because I stepped on the security tag. And again she said "okay" and continued on with her job. Completely rude and uncaring staff. Once again Ross fails at customer services and their own people( customers). All they care about are getting people checked out as soon as possible. That's why there's a tag left on the floor for me to have stepped on. Ok I get it. Ross probably isn't the most desirable job in the world. Well first off it's a complete disaster in here, but that's typical of Ross. My annoyance is at the cashier. Didn't get his name, 30 something year old short male working at 7:30 on Feb 26. Not that anyone will look him up. Anyways, rings me up. I grab my single bag off the counter because he couldn't hand it to me. The receipt prints on his receipt printer on HIS side of the counter facing HIM. And he literally just looks at me and says "there's your receipt". I sorry but I'm pretty sure you are able bodied enough to hand me at least my receipt, when hand me my single bag was too much for you. It really doesn't take much effort to pick a piece of paper off your printer and hand it to a customer. You made me reach over and rip it off. Came to this store at 7:30 on a Monday night and as expected the racks and shelves were showing a full day's worth of rummaging. We found 2 "cute enough" outdoor chair cushions for 10.99 a piece. There were only 2 open registers, one being for returns and the other for purchases. One patron with a return had the audacity to get in the wrong line and the rude cashier, Anna, made sure everyone in the store knew it. She just kept barking "next purchase, purchases only!" My boyfriend (not an avid Ross shopper) didn't understand the returns only line so he told the woman that Anna had already rejected and shamed to go ahead of us. The fellow shopper thanked him but she had already learned her lesson. As we were walking over to Anna's register she barked "purchases only!" And when we didnt respond because it didnt sound like a question she yelled "Yes?" We both nodded slightly frightened. After she finished ringing us up she asked "cash or credit card" and I looked to my boyfriend because I thought he had my card and she yelled at us again! "Cash or card?!" So I snapped back "credit card!". She then told me that she had already asked once and we need to answer because she has to push a button. Anna was the rudest cashier I have ever encountered! As far as Ross' go, this one is pretty decent. I didn't see an employee in the store until we got to the register, but they were efficient and relatively friendly and moving the line in pretty good fashion, which was greatly appreciated. I asked what the return policy was and the person answering the question looked at the artwork I had in my hand and said - for that? It's the same as our regular return policy. UHM??? Three party dresses for 40 bucks? I'm the belle of the ball, bitches! Let me reign in my enthusiasm a bit. I don't generally like Ross. It's trashy, unorganized and sticky. Especially the one in Arizona Mills Mall. (I shudder remembering trying to redeem my gift card there last Christmas. Long lines, cheap whorebag/old granny clothes galore, and it was infested with children.) Typically the majority of clothes at Ross look like they could also be found hanging in my local Goodwill, but I still frequent these crappy stores in hopes of finding a killer deal. (What can I say? I'm a masochist. They keep burning me over, and over and I just line up for the punishment.) But this shiny new location in Tempe Marketplace and I are undergoing a golden honeymoon period! It just opened so all the fixtures are new and not covered in human grime yet. The clothes here are surprisingly well organized for this type of scavenger hunt shopping experience. I found my sizes exactly where they should be, a first for any Ross-venture. The clothes here are of the same cheap, thin poly-cotton blends that allows them to keep their prices so low, but they've always lasted a fair amount of time and for the price simply can't be beat. The fashions thankfully aren't still stuck in the late 90s era of baby doll tees, and I managed to find pretty dresses for a wedding, Zombie Prom and for when I want to feel like a tulle entwined princess, all for only 40 bucks! Ross is also pretty good for decorating a bathroom, kitchen or living room on the cheap. And the accessories section at this location rocks. Tons of purses, shoes and jewlery. So if you're looking for cheap clothes and house accessories that haven't already been pawed at by the masses, go here. Quick! Before it starts to reek of feet and small children. read more

This location is quieter than the one at Arizona Mills Mall. No screaming kids in your way. The clothes are less disheveled, still attached to the hanger, but for the same low price. I get my husband's work shirts here for like $8. Ross understands that there are still skinny Americans out there and they carry size 4 pants. YESSSSS! Unusual house goods you can find at Ross. I redid my whole bathroom and made it into a nice Victorian style in light pink and a wood brown. They had this soft-green painted shelf that looked like a twisted vine. Where else can you find something like that? I found these two toothbrush cups that were painted with butterflies. Worth the $5 each. My bathroom is gorgeous. You'll want to take a crap in there. read more

I haven't shopped in Ross for years and years. Ross was never at the top of my list to shop. I usually preferred a competitor that started with a M. Maybe I may reconsider and give both locations an equal chance. After eating close by, my wife and I stopped in to check out the new Ross location. I needed some new shorts and thought I'd take a look. Unlike other Ross stores, the store was pretty free of clothes on the floor being late in the evening. When the lines started to get a few deep, another register was opened. That was nice. I was able to find some nice mens shorts for $13 and $15. I can't speak for the womens apparel, but the mens side had lots of athletic wear, shorts, pants, jeans and shirts to choose from. I was happy with all the selections. I also found a really nice pet food container for $7 . I'm sure there will be a return trip to Ross at some point in the future. . read more

Meh, it's more like a 2.5 stars. But I rounded up. First off, I liked the selection of stuff they had. They had a lot more than most of the other Ross's I've been to. And in comparison to the one at Arizona Mills, this ones way better. But everything was a bit over priced, especially for Ross! I made a good purchase, got things I had been looking for, but paid a little more than I should have at a Ross. The worse though was the customer service. When we went to check out, they had 3 cashiers. And the one that wasn't doing anything, shood us to the next. And there we waited several minutes for the one girl to stop looking at this scarf, in order for her to ring us up. And when she did, no eye contact, no "hello how are you? Have a good day." Nothing. I always make it a point to stop at this location while in Tempe since the shopping gods have always been nice to me here and you can walk to other stores in the area. Wouldn't recommend. I needed help and had to wait a while to get a price for an item while the store was empty and the employees walked on their phones. They tried to sell a used couch with 50% off because it had been sitting there for a while and they were happy to get rid of it because everyone would sit on it. We're in a pandemic? I had no clue it had been sitting there for that long... I didn't end up buying it. This Ross is definitely one of the more ghetto stores I've shopped in. Parking sucks, lines are super long and the disarray in the aisles is never ending. Clothes piled on the floor, shoes strewn all over the aisles, toddler Spider-Man pjs mixed with women's knits, hoochie leopard print lingerie next to preteen skater t shirts ...you get the idea. Good selection of housewares, bedding and knick knacks though. This is also a good Ross to visit if you're bilingual - I rarely hear English here. Could use a good clean up crew for sure. read more

I'm a pretty patient person, but when you say my only choices for being sold a dress with a big hole in it is 15% back or a return, when I obviously want the dress, it doesn't really sit well with me. 15%? Seriously? This product is damaged. He then said I could just go to another Ross. That's a good plan! I'm going to another Ross. I'm never going back to this one. I think the worst part was he told me I could just patch it. It was a hole that was in the front of the dress. Yes, I do know how to patch it, but that's visible no matter what. I'm not ashamed to say that I am a Ross whore/groupie/addict. I've been to plenty from Gilbert to Glendale and this is pretty much one of the few where the shelves are always full and you'll always find new things no matter when you go. I think it's because it's so near to campus that they always get new inventory unlike the quieter ones where they tend to hold onto an item for longer so the choices aren't that great. This is pretty much where I get everything now, from kitchen to closet. Michael Kors scarf, Steve Madden heels galore, Olivia + Joy purses, huge canvas art, the George Forman grill that saved me from near starvation ... I'm always able to find something for me. I'm not really into actual clothes from Ross so I can't judge on that, but when it comes to the amount and variance in purses, shoes (tons of name brands), and housewares (a poor HGTV fan's dream), they definitely got it right in that department. Tip: Avoid during Christmas season. Oddly, I cannot find anything during that time and with the number of people who rummage through, it turns into what could be a backdrop from Slumdog Millionaire. read more

First off the people working here are all miserable loll now here is my ranting review as I feel "unheard" my mother bought a pair of shoes here on a Tuesday to take advantage of their senior discount on tuesdays. After purchasing the shoes she had found out that the shoes were two different sizes (the sticker said they were the and sizes) came back in Wednesday to exchange them. The cash register was helping us with the exchange but I asked if tHere was any way they could accommodate the discount. But she said she couldn't because it was Wednesday. I told her that I understood that it was Wednesday but we had to come back becuase the store had made a mistake so didn't it make sense for us to ask for the measly 10% discount? No. The cash register kept repeating to us that she couldn't not accommodate the discount because it was a Wednesday. And I kept repeating to her I UNDERSTAND IT IS WEDNESDAY, but the we didn't come to exchange something becuase we didn't like it we came to exchange it because the store made the mistake... nope.. it's a Wednesday so they simply cannot give us a discount. read more

Extremely poor management, the cashiers were very understaffed people were waiting in line for 15 to 20 minutes. There were cashiers leaving the checkout line to go check in the back of the store for a price of a wallet. They looked like they were lost and did not know what they were doing there was no manager in sight. Terrible customer service! I bought a pair of shoes maybe a month ago. I misplaced the receipt, but the shoes still had their original tag/sticker on it because I never once wore the shoes. I loved the shoes when I bought them, but when it came time to wear them I could never find an outfit to go with the shoes. I went to Ross at Tempe Marketplace, where I bought the shoes, to get store credit. I was prepared to return the shoes and continue shopping for new outfits for my vacation. When I came up to the register, not only was the cashier rude and gave me no eye contact, but she told me that the shoes have been marked down from $35 to $17.99. She told me that she could only refund me the $17.99 without my receipt. Of course, it didn't make sense for me to return the shoes for half price, especially since they were brand new. I called for the manager on duty Amy to voice my discontent. She sided with the cashier and didn't care to hear my story. She was also extremely rude and seemingly unhappy with her job. I happen to be an executive for a different retailer and wouldn't have asked for her if I didn't think there was anything she could do about it. It amazes me how much little business sense this store manager and her associates have. Because of her actions, she not only lost a customer, she also missed out on a possible sale and future sales from me. If I had gotten the $35 back I would have spend at least $100 on my purchase that day, which would have made the store much more in sales than the $35 refund, not to mention the sales of my future purchases. Not bad. It's usually a random assortment of clothes. Often you'll find the perfect shirt or pair of pants....except it's in the wrong size and they only have one of them. However, if you like going through treasure hunts, you can often find clothing prices way below the normal retail sticker price. read more

Terrible customer service- Thank you Vanessa. I waited for ten minutes to exchange/return an item as the only person on the return/exchange line. While 3 registers kept saying "Next customer" I finally said to Vanessa who was just ignoring me and putting away hangers in the exchange return counter "hey I've been waiting here a while now can you help me?" She said let me just help this next customer. I asked why didn't you help me earlier. She said the other registers could have helped you. Really? I said they didn't call me over. They just kept calling for the next purchasing customers from their line. There's two lines one for new purchases one for exchanges/returns. I think she's full of shit. Did not apologize or take responsibility. She sucks and should be replaced with someone with decent customer service skills. read more
