The pickings were slim, and the shoe section which is already small, was pretty wiped out. The employees weren't super busy although there were a few shoppers inside when I walked in. None of them greeted me or offered to help me find anything. I was eyeing a pair of booties, but I didn't bother to ask if they had my size or the color I wanted. I also didn't see a clearance section. I had planned on using my militsry/first responder 25% off deal that was valid in-store only which expires today on Christmas Eve, but it was not meant to be. I recently learned that I needed stability running shoes to complement my orthotics. When I entered Sole Sports, I met Jess right away who fully understood exactly what I needed. She measured my feet and asked me a bunch of questions. Then, she brought out various pairs of shoes and walked me through trying them on with my orthotics. I learned that I should be considering a shoe size a half-size larger than what I thought I needed. That certainly made a huge difference! I got some good ideas of what I wanted to do moving forward, and while the prices seemed quite a bit more than what they are online (similar to any physical store), they offered me a discount since I was referred to Sole Sports by a doctor. Sole Sports is a locally owned, specialty running and walking store based in Phoenix. They strive to be an alternative to big box stores and online shopping. In addition to offering a wide variety of running and walking gear, they host weekly training runs, support local running clubs & youth programs, sponsor local races and donate a lot of money back into our local community. The lady took the hanger off and put them in a bag after my son provided his credit card for payment. Seconds after he walked out of the store I noticed they were not a size medium, but a large. I went back in the store and told the clerk what happened. I wanted to exchange for an actual medium which was falsely advertised on the hanger my son purchased.she said "no exchanges, no exceptions." She pointed out the situation sign at the counter and referred me to the manager who said the same thing. I believe my son was scammed by unethical sales people trying to get rid of bigger size stock by displaying them on mismatched sized hangers and using their "no refund, no exchange" policy to reinforce their scam.
